Although i dont think they ended up using stunt doubles for most of the saber fighting in this film at all. The original video can eb seen during the behind the scenes footage on the Phantom Menace bonus DVD.

Gillard was the Stunt Coordinator but Andreas Petrides was employed 2 design the lightsaber fights. I went 2 a MFX show where Andreas and Ray (both martial Arts/ weapons experts for over 20 years) put together amazing fight displays, both of them stated Gillard had very little to do with creating the lightsabre fights having no martial arts experience, but he seems 2 have taken all the credit 4 it, what a shame for the real creators of these fantastic fights which are the best of the 6 movies!!

Oh, absolutely there's plenty of behind the scenes footage of Ray and Ewan fighting, (and let's not forget the movie itself! Ewan did most of that except falling off tall buildings and backflips and stuff) but this video is the double. In fact there's footage of this same sequence with Ewan not the double. And if you're clever you can quite easily spot this sequence in the film.

Yea, there was a little bit of different choreography in this one. In the movie, he does a downward block, and then pulls it forward as Maul swing to the other side. And there was the 4-point contact thing.

this is actually Andreas Petrides, Ewan McGregors stunt double. He designed most of the fights with Ray Park. Andreas also created all the fights on the movie Gladiator. One of the UK's best stuntmen!
