@Emily007Sweet How come they did the rape in the beginning between Dany and Drogo? I have not read the books, but others say that was different from the books. It would not hurt to keep him around for my taste. If the books are followed to the T, then I have no reason to buy them! Nor would I be quite so interested in the series if it was just a replaying of the books! I don't think I'm alone in that desire for interesting deviation.

The raping part is not as important as his death, I hate the way he died and I am really hoping they will keep him alive, but it's too different than the books so... Dany becomes a strong person and a great queen to their people after that, she is so inspiring :)

@MsAKSfan I know exactly what you mean, it does seem really creepy but I think what the author was going for was authenticity. In those times, from the age of 12, you were considered an adult. Most people didn't live to see their 20's and 30's , due to all the fighting, so you had to become an 'adult' at a much younger age. Thank God times have changed :) (at least in most places in the world)

Dany will become a strong, independent woman, a great leader, she will be wiser and no one will need to do things for her anymore so her character grew up very much since Drogo's death. So if he didn't die, we wouldn't get to meet the person that she became. Besides MARTIN is writing the screenplay so...
