I have no objection to people smoking tobacco or marijuana PROVIDED that they do not expose people to the harmful smoke they produce against their will. People want to damage their own bodies? That's their right. People want to damage other people's bodies without their consent (even if that's not their goal, but just a consequence of their actions)? Know what else pot can do? Slow your reaction time. And it can slow it even further if you're already drunk. So if someone who is drunk and high runs their car off the road, is it alcohol or pot's fault. First responders automatically assume alcohol, and a blood test can confirm. Once that is found, they don't look for pot. Doesn't mean it's not there. So the point is, she uses figures to sugesst that pot is safer than alcohol or tobacco. I write this as some one who does not care one iota if they legalize pot. Her first argument is skewed beyond belief, so much so that it's closer to a lie than anything. The number of people who die form tobacco as she claimed die from "tobacco related causes." That includes lung cancer. People who have never smoked a cigarette in their life get lung, throat, and mouth cancer. And their deaths are counted towards tobacco. But know what else can cause lung cancer? That's right! Pot! I started smoking pot when I was 15, i'm 52 now. I have never missed more than a week of work, I spend tons of time with my family, never had a car accident, and every year when I go for my insurance physical, my doctor tells me i'm in perfect health. Yeah.....pot should be illegal.................NOT. I'm also a member of NORML. If it was legalized and taxed it would take a nice chunk out of the national deficit.

You pronounce "addict" wrong. Multiple times. However you want to candy-coat it, Marijuana is a drug. It is usually the first drug people try, and if they are still curious they move onto harder drugs. I wouldn't say it is a gateway drug or not a gateway drug, but it is a drug. I really don't think it's as beneficial as people want to make it out to be. I've done a lot of drugs and smoked a lot of herb and weed is just another drug that fucks you up.
