@TheRiverman85 It is not illegal to be a communist in the U.S. but it is not a party that you want to belong to if you want to get elected into high office. Communism does go against many of the principle that the U.S. was founded on.
Many think that Obama is a communist. I do not happen to believe that he is, but his philosophy is closer to communism than many American are comfortable with.

If he had said that he was communist, and gotten elected anyway, we would have no reason to complain.
