  • Did you start out in orinda?

  • This is so going in my favs list...

  • @ 0:34 A BART CROSSING?? I THOUGHT I'D NEVER C 1 IN MAH FRIGGIN LIFE!!

  • Where'z dat?

  • The BART...we're faster than the freeways.

  • Is BART considered light rail? It sounds so quiet...yet, there are no catenary wires above...

  • As others have pointed out, this is the Berkeley Hills Tunnel. I believe the train spends about 3 minutes in the tunnel of the 5 scheduled between the stations.

  • THATS BEAST! Where were you leaving from?

  • I think this is the transbay tube or as known as oakland-sf

  • NO. this is the Berkely Hills Tunnel that runs from Orinda Bart Station to RockRidge Bart Station.

  • My condolences to the family as well....

  • didint one of the transbay things crash into one another the other day

  • Awesome! 5*

  • PLZZZZ Keep making these. these are awesome.

  • BART tunnel takes 6 to 7 minutes from West Oakland to Embarcadero, much faster then AC Transit Transbay service, over Bay Bridge.

  • does it ever get a bit "eerie" staring into the darkness like that? i can only imagine the scene from predator, lol.

  • Probably the Berkeley Hills Tunnel .

  • This is going along 24 west toward Oakland through Orinda. Thank you for posting this video I travel this rout many time and I always wondered how does this journey looks from the front seat.

  • Where is that? transbay?

  • Everytime I ride BART these days , the trains very seldom run 75 to 80 mph anymore as they did when I was growing up there . I guess it's safety over speed .

  • Same for the metro in DC. I'd be saying to myself "Is that Train Operator drunk or what?"

  • The equipment is getting pretty old. Its going to need some major work soon.

  • We need something like this in my own Bay Area.

  • yo u drive these trains? Good job man, and thats one long tunnel

p.s. now that u drive under the tunnel do u know why it is so loud down there?

  • wow so thats how it looks I applied for bart passed the test and the interview wating to take my phyical and drug test i'm close I look at this every day before I get there then the class I know in my heart that I will do this job

  • Good Job..Cant wait to have you on board.. It sounds like you are through the hardest part.. Now all you have to do is wait.. Depending on the order of events.. After the agility test.. You may be placed in a pool, hopefully you will get called soon..Cant wait to meet you.. Good Luck "-)

  • @CoCoEMT Why does the BART Train sometimes stop at mid tunnel... This happened to me twice in one day about 3 years ago...

  • @CoCoEMT Crabby ass fucker!

  • @CoCoEMT Start focusing!

  • hm, looks like lodnon TUBE STOCK :/

  • it's like falling down a everlasting hole in the ground lol

  • This must be a nice job since you really don't deal with the riders at all. You get to just sit in the cabin of the train and not even operate the train since it's all on auto pilot.

  • Like your Yamanote train?

  • pretty much.

  • If only we looped the entire bay... :(

    ...Then that'll truly be the Bay Area's Yamanote-sen. :)

  • why was there a red 80 and green 68/66? is 80 the limit and is 68 what you were doing?

  • yeah, thats right.

  • cool weres dat san fransico

  • question, how much experience do you think it takes to be a BART conductor.

  • thats the beeper that tells the driver that he has to leave the station i think.

  • Thank you so much for all of the videos you've posted. It makes me feel like I'm back home!

  • Hey I love Going threw the Oakland Hills Tunnel Ride.

  • always want to see what its like watching that happen from up there. but now, i got a chance to see what is like, and i love it

  • What is the horn that sounds before the subway starts?

  • It tells the operator that its time to close the doors and depart.

  • train the 160km/h???

  • I'd like to see a video of BART enterting the Trans-Bay tube from the West Oakland station when you have that chance.

  • I been in the Trans-Tube on Bart Its Fun man. And you will Go hella Fast in there.

  • wow thanks so much for these videos dude. They were very interesting seeing as how I take the Pittsburgh bay point train almost everyday.

  • what tunnel is this?????

  • Berkeley Hills between Orinda station and Rockridge.

  • @CoCoEMT What the hell did you just say you moron?

  • The Oakland Hills Tube.

  • I've been a BART rider for many years, and my one frustration (aside from the fare increases) has been that I there's no forward view! Entering the tunnels and subway portions of the system has always been the most interesting moments of riding the trains! Thank you for filming this--If you get the chance, could you PLEASE record a trip through the Transbay Tube?

  • I've been in a cab a few times when I was a kid, and I've always wanted to be an operator.

What kind of qualifications do you need?

  • Yeam me too... Just the will to learn somthin different and dedicate your sel..

  • i remember hitting the tube to san fran and seeing how fast the trains going the opposite direction looked. thats gotta be pretty wild from the front. you got a "flat-nose" cab or an oldschool slanted front cab? you an EMT too?

  • Does that beeping on the console indicate "doors open" on the train?

  • How was it Like to Ride in the tube in the Oakland Hills?

  • Hey guy. LOVE the videos! Question for ya. Do you ever do a line that uses the Transbay Tube? If so, any chance of you posting a video of that?

  • Yeah.. Ill see if I can take a video of that.. It pretty much looks the same..

  • No.. I hate math too and suck at it...They teach you everything..

  • Its ok... You speak great english... Keep it up

  • Think the age is 18 now.. For the first year or so you have to kinda work the shift that you end up with.. as you gain seniority you get to pick what you want..

  • lol...you could...

  • yes orinda to rockridge

  • Thanks! sorry my bad english, i'm started a course now

    see ya...

  • Thanks! sorry my bad english, i'm started a course now

    see ya...

  • Oh and another question, why do the trains slow down in certain areas like between the Balboa Park station and Daly City station, or also between Daly City and Colma? I mean it makes sense when they slow down approaching the Downtown Oakland stations b/c of how they have to switch tracks, but why elsewhere?

  • Cause the speed limit for that section of track is 50 mph

  • I always love riding the bart, but now its a rare treat since we had to move to reno :P

So what are the requirements to be a train driver and do you like the job?

  • train usually goes 70 unless it is late which then goes 80.. The red is the "max" speed for the area but thge schedule usually keeps it one notch below.

  • this max. speed is 80 MPH? here is aprox. 130 km/h! i confused...

  • hi, i am from Brazil.

these videos are very good! Congratulations!

This train is from Rockridge station to Orinda station?

  • Vice versa. Orinda to Rockridge.

  • Jealous! Are you a TO?
