  • You talk about ''THE VOICE'' JACKIE LEROY WILSON was just that!! A performer supreme!!!!!! thanks for all you done too keep his ''VOICE'' ALIVE!!!!!!!!!

  • I gotta go call my girl.

  • Jackie was always one of my favorites since I saw him do "Reet Petite" on Dick Clark's Saturday Night show. It's too bad there is so little video left of Jackie performing live. He had a reputation for putting on a great show.

  • "To be loved, to be loved oh what a feeling" ..... *screaminig* "SHUT UP!"... .. YOU FUNNY MAN EDDIE!!!! Love you J. WIlson <3

  • The Ballad for Single People on Valentine's Day. Lovely song for any occasion really.

  • @coopdogg93 too true.

  • I like it a lot ! Great artist with a great song.

  • Awesome !!!!!

  • Love this guys music! And im only 21 :)

  • I first saw Jackie Wilson on American Bandstand when I was a teenager. At that time, my mother pronounced him to be one of the greatest performers she had seen. I have loved him ever since. What a voice. What passion. I was so sad when he died, tragically, way too soon.

  • Great song, enjoyable video. I have it posted on my channel as a favorite. Thanks

  • @Ellenw1122 Thanks a lot for your comment!

  • Wonderful--no one like Jackie Wilson.

  • Lovely....classics are beautifull We must not forget how beautiful and relevant they still are, even in these schizoid times

  • man this song gives me chills everytime i hear which is a few times a day Jackie Wilson is legend for this song an those that dont know him need to be educated an its sad that he didnt get to live a full life but id give anything to be back in his generation this new music sucks ass compared to the oldies i dont care who you are or what you think these songs have emotion, soul,an truth :)

  • BLISS

  • To be fluffed!

  • No. 1; speak English! We have no artist now that can even compare iwth Jackie; unbelievable; you have to love this!

  • coming to america comes to mind when i hear his talented voice

  • "What about Patrice?" "I am not Interested In Patrice" "What about Darryl?" I am not Interested In Darryl either"

  • Litterally 10seconds after hearing this song on Coming too america i typed this in

  • magic, magic, magic

  • My husband & I danced to this as our first song on our wedding day in 2008. Beautiful!

  • Always thrilling to hear the magnificent voice of Jackie Wilson, taking one back to a time when greatness in music was sadly taken for granted then greatness like this slipped away, never to return...greatest singer of them all, "To Be Loved" is a timeless classic and thankfully with no airwaves to play great artists like Jackie we have youtube that introduces this legendary giant to new generations...Bravo Jackie, you are missed and RIP great one...

  • @bradly2007 "night" is my very favorite been listning since I was 14 from Philly with the "geator with the heater" Jerry Blavet over 50 yrs

  • @Deeneub47 "Night" is a gorgeous Jackie classic and my older sis played this great master over and over making me a life long fan...nobody compares!

  • As good as it gets! Thanks for posting.

Jackie: You deserved a better fate. You WERE Loved... and when someone new hears you sing and sees you perform, you are loved again. Rest in Peace.

Does anyone know if E ever took a shot at this song??

  • @getpeko54 Thanks for your comment but I'm pretty sure he didn't.

  • The song says it all. How could you not love him. What a voice. I had the privilege of seeing him on stage in Puerto Rico early 70's. I got a little jealous because he reached down as he was singing and held on to my wife's hand. I let it pass. After all, I had been a fan of his since Lonely Teardrops. To this day I still play his 45RPM records.

  • 3 people don't know what real music sounds like

  • ...The three people who disliked this video are dead now.

  • jackie was the best. used to see him in Chicago at the Regal and Tivoli theaters when they put on great weekly shows with a movie. my best friend and I would often be the only white kids in the place but never had any problems because we were all there for the music.

  • WOOOOH I LOVE THIS SONG!!

  • HE WAS THE KING

  • a romantic and astoundingly beautiful soul

  • Jackie is a classic. A legend whose contribution to music will be remembered. He inspired many with his emotional and passionate interpretations. And the dancing! Unforgettable! A precursor of the "moonwalk", coupled with his vocal antics is why Jackie was dubbed "Mr. Excitement"! Thanks for the post.

  • @bluzmama55 he didnt do anything moonwalk just saying

  • @Feelin2nice:You're 100% correct and i am so glad somebody else can see that besides me. We gave America and the world all this flavor and others get the credit for our work. Like Little Richard said...if Elvis is the King...Little Richard said he is the King maker. I remember Madonna used to come to the village in NY and see the gay Blacks out there doing what they called Voguing a dance they created she then took it and recorded a song about it and made millions. I wonder if she shared w/them?

  • What a voice, what style, COOL

  • What a voice. What a song!. Thanks for this post.

  • @necktieguy1 Thanks for your lovely comment!

  • i ADORE this......my Funeral Song....not for a long time ...(i hope)....x

  • So glad that this wonderful man and wonderful musician is still remembered even on YouTube. Thank you YouTube! Jackie Wilson was one of The BEST!

  • I'm 41,so i didn't really grow up to this flava, but i can totally get down with it. I will take this over alot of mess that is out today. I think i liked every song that came out in this era. This one is awesome!!! I like a lot of Otis too. Ya'll Be Cool.. Ya Dig!

  • J'adore!!! ;)

  • my two favorite singers and the best looking singers around were Elvis and Jackie and I know they walk hand in hand in Heaven. They were friends and Elvis was always there for Jackie even at the end. Greatness in these two that is not around today.

  • beautiful voice -- so few singers now -- this man was truly gifted! and thanks so much for reminding us of how times could be good! seriously awesome! lots of kids listening to 'Coming to America' don't even realize the origin of this great singer.

  • Jackie will always be an unreplaceable talent...a man with a voice that was a here-on-earth blessing.....Always to be loved!.....David

  • THE BEST OF THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • One of the most beautiful songs ever written. Performed by a very, very gifted entertainer....

  • UUUGH! Why does everything have to be a black and white thing with you people? A beautiful sound is beautiful. Don't matter what color the singer is.

  • @reginamb What do you mean you PEople hmmmmmm XD

  • @chillydogification Exactly what it says! White People, Black People, Yellow People... All those peoples need to stop being so dang obsessed with color and just enjoy the music. :P

  • dr monkey boy jr...im spanish, this is what i read in his atuobio eat my banana u jerk

  • Jackie was truly one of the most talented of the so called "rock era". He could have been a superstar in any era, Opera to rock, Jackie Wilson was sensational.

  • I can't stop thinking about Coming To America! XD Beautiful song, I love any song by jackie wilson especially this one and lonely teardrops. :D

  • I grew up listening to this music ,it seem to be a lost art form now.

  • thumbs up for coming to america.

  • @HarshVibes1980 that's exactly what brought me here to this song :-)

  • @HarshVibes1980 What about Patrice? I am not interested in Patrice. What about Darryl? I am not interested in Darryl either. COMING TO AMERICA XD XD XD !!!!

  • @HarshVibes1980 "Hey, knock it off we're tryin' to sleep up here!" "Will you shut the f*** up?!"

  • @Tyonline777 I too think of Coming to America whenever I hear this song.

  • @mohinderbauer who cares that shit sucks

  • The incomparable Mr. Jackie Wilson. I've been blessed to have been born in this lifetime to have heard such a voice as his. There's no one to compare with. Such a majestic Voice. To hear his Voice on "Baby Workout" , "To Be loved", and Danny Boy is Mesmerizing..! There was only one Jackie wilson, and god took him back...he missed his sweet voice in the heavenly Choir..! Jackie was a beautiful Human being also. RIP for all eternity.

  • 3 people wouldn't know good music if it kicked them in the balls.

  • I HEARD DIS SONG IN A MOVIE-[ COMING TO AMERICA} AND I LOVED IT\

    GREAT SONG

  • classic!

  • Why Do All The Greats Go To Soon ?

  • @Noremac241

possibly because they are not cherished when they are here.

  • It doesn't get any better than Jackie Wilson! You know he influenced MJ.

  • A prince in New York !

  • @KAL10100 actually the original title is Coming To America

  • Jackie Wilson at his best. I love this song...

  • love this song...amazing

  • The greatest singing voice of the rock and roll era.

  • one of my favorites from way babck when , i still play it on 45

  • those were very racist times, and I remember Elvis saying what a great entertainer Jackie wilson was, and a lot of white people did not want to hear it. But I remember him giving Mr. Excitement his proper respect, and acknowledging that he got more opportunities by far than Jackie Wilson did.

  • elvis once call jackie the black elvis

  • @09bnunez fuck elvis white boy

  • @DrMonkeyBoyJr You're an ugly racist, just listen to the song and shut up. I'd like to see you sing like Elvis or Jackie... Lol I think not. You're a fool monkey boy... Why don't you go to one of those racist channels and vent your anger at the white man.. It's not allowed here..

  • @kikihav jackie is better

  • soul ...opera...love song man he could do it all listen to danny boy wow!!!!!!!!got all his hits on casette..very rare....love him...

  • coming to America.....lol

  • With all of the so-called docu-drama movies (Ray, La-Bamba, Lyman, Dream Girls, etc) they've made over the past twenty-five years, I fail to understand why a movie has yet to be to be made with an unbelieveable story, about an unbelieveable talent, with an unbelieveable voice, wrapped up in an unbelieveable tradgedy no screen write could ever devise. WHY NOT? For all the money Gordy made off of Wilson, HE (alone) should do it. Or maybe Nate Tarnabaums family? RIP great one!

  • 3 people missed the "I like" button

  • I was lucky enough to have seen Jackie....I was about 10 years old at the time. It was either at the Brookly Fox or Paramount, can't remember....he is awesome!!

  • what a talent he had. most amazing.

  • I had the opportunity of seeing him perform at the Brooklyn Paramount & Fox Theaters, He would get down, take off his tie, wipe his face with a hankie & toss them at the audience..I never got anything except the memories, thrills, chills & shared screams of so many healthy American teens.Jew, Irish, Blacks, Ricans, Everyone was singing & dancing..LONG LIVE ROCK & ROLL! Peace via Music..VIVA MARIA!

  • @magcarril Man you were very fortunate! Mr. Wilson WAS Mr. Excitement. I have never heard anyone like Jackie Wilson. R. Kelly pays tribute in his new song "When a Woman Loves". Kelly uses some of Jackie's operatic tones.

  • When Elvis rock 'n rolled onto the music media in 1955, the world was tired of syrupy ballads & was ready for someone, anyone to change things. Sam Phillips of Sun records sensed this, when he introduced Elvis as a "conveyer" for that new sound, Elvis "kicked the door down" for himself & every other performer behind him. From that time forward, all of these artists benefited & the older ones who didn't change to rock music saw their careers fade away...that's how the mop flops, amigo..

  • @ftjax

Elvis was a white man who sounded black, and white people ate it up! Just like the Rolling Stones and Eminem. Black folk come up with a sound, white folk steal it. Black folk come up with a style, white folk start dressing that way. It's been that way for decades. From jazz to blues to rock-n-roll to hip hop. That's truth.

  • @Feelin2nice It may sting some people's ears to hear, but it's the gospel truth.

  • @Feelin2nice (Jackie) Wilson also said he was influenced by Presley too, saying "A lot of people have accused Elvis of stealing the black man’s music, when in fact, almost every black solo entertainer copied his stage mannerisms from Elvis."

  • @Feelin2nice Shame you look at things this way....we will never get passed racism..until people like you..get over themselves.

    Thats not truth...thats lame

  • @Feelin2nice Yu def speak the truth

  • @Feelin2nice

Don't fucking ever liken Eminem with The Rolling Stones and Elvis Presley. Black people used to be GOOD trend setters. Motown, funk and soul were amazing. Black music has been a fucking joke for a long time. Rap is ruining society.

  • @CaramelLitegloss GLAD to make ya SMILE...

  • 3 SUCKAZ, DONT wanna be LOVED...!

  • his voice is wonderful

  • honestly how can 2 people hit dislike on this song?

  • This is unquestionably my all-time favorite Jackie Wilson track, along with "Higher And Higher". Jackie Wilson is one of the most underrated musicians period. And after hearin this beautiful classic (which I haven't heard in a while), Jackie now moves up the rankins on my all-time favorite R&B musicians list. May this LEGENDARY VOCALIST truly rest in peace.

  • God bless you.

  • my bby i love u soo much sweetheart

  • A Classic. A True Voice. A True Legend.

    Thank you so very much!

  • AWESOME!!!! reminds me of eddie murphy in coming to america when he kisses mcdowels daughter.

  • who in the hell would dare dislike this!?

  • of course i'm 25 but i will die for this song omg thanks jackie for your voice

  • Great voice, great artist. If James Brown is The Godfather of Soul Music, I would say that Jackie Wilson is The King of Soul Music.

  • I agree with teddibearsworld when he said "Blame the racism at the time, not the singers." As a black man, I understand and share a certain resentment that an Elvis Presley can be elevated to something just short of God-like status while millions of Americans have never even heard of Jackie Wilson or Sam Cooke to name two. However, I do get tired of people needing to deny that Elvis or the Beatles etc. had talent. Racism in America cheated many black artists, but I respect talent in all races.

  • The question is often asked: “why Jackie Wilson’s star did not gleam brighter. The answer is very simply. Though Jackie Wilson wasn’t credited for his business prowess, – his earnest efforts did not return dividends solely because he was under contract with the wrong record company “Brunswick.” Brunswick, in the person of Nat Tanenbaum, robbed Jackie Wilson. Jackie Wilson attempted to leave Brunswick for Motown but Nat Tanenbaum’s punks threatened Jackie’s life.

  • In addition, Jackie Wilson’s 1st wife stated in Jackie’s biography that Jackie Wilson purchased Brunswick and again was robbed of exercising ownership. Jackie Wilson, sadly, never received a Grammy because Brunswick did not keep records of units sold to avoid IRS taxes.

  • Years later, Nat Tanenbaum was under “indictment” and Jackie Wilson was scheduled to testify against him along with 1 or 2 other artists – conveniently Jackie Wilson suffers a serious heart attack while on stage in Cherry Hill New Jersey doing a show with Dick Clarke. At the time, Jackie was in negotiations for an upcoming weekly running TV show.

  • Close acquaintances say Jackie Wilson was poisoned. He was such an incredible talent. Sadly, as great as his talent was, Jackie Wilson was plagued by an equal amount of career setbacks and misfortune. Let’s enjoy the “MAN” his artistry and, his musical legacy.

  • Jackie at his best. RIP. You were gone much too soon.

  • What a beautiful voice...and this guy could dance!!!!

  • Still sounds good.

  • this is my first time seeing the man with the voice, unbelieveable, what talent. Could you imagine him as a young man on american idol....

  • eddie murphy killed it in comeing 2 america

  • @cyn303 lol~~I feel you~~~

  • i just fell in love for the 1241st time and every time i fall in love i listen to JW (rip) this song in particular makes my panties wet

  • I have to be one of Jackie Wilson's biggest fans. "To Be Loved" is my number one favorite. I was always buying his 45's.

  • just great♥

  • what a voice x love him x

  • One of the great classics. How much better can it get?

  • i really liked his singing, very gifted.

  • THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL SONG... BUT I JUST CAN'T HELP BUT TO LAUGH A LIL' WHEN I HEAR IT THO! LOL! ALL I CAN HEAR IS EDDIE MURPHY'S SILLY ASS SINGING IN MY HEAD! HAHAHA! <3 COMING TO AMERICA <3 XD

  • He was my teenage dream I loved his music and it stands the test of time This was my favourite record

  • Every time I fall in love i listen to this song. Yes folks, I've fallen in love again. It's great to be alive, living in Texas and "to be loved" again. Thanks and rip JW

  • this is truly the best.what more can I say.............RIP Jackie,I will always miss you

  • Jackie, known as "The guy with a tear in his eye," and "Mr. Excitement," is one of my favorites. Had the good fortune to see him at the Brooklyn Paramount way back when (after his recovery from being shot). He headlined with Jerry Lee Lewis! He and Roy Orbison (among others) helped keep me sane back in high school.

  • Lovely voice, good music. Im in Africa, where can I buy Jackie Wilson's CDs

  • @jkibaara You can buy them online, through Amazon.

  • Lovely voice, good music. Im in Africa, where can I buy Jackie Wilson's CDs

  • Classic Priceless

  • MAGIC

  • this reminds me of Coming to America with Eddie Murphey!!!

  • the best version, with full of love and emotion..

To Be Loved, what a feeling to be loved.

  • Jackie Wilson WAS THE MAN, and so was Elvis. Elvis loved Jackie, they were friends so that's probably why they're similar. Kinda like MJ he was influenced by a lot of entertainers. And Usher and JT were influenced by MJ and the list goes on. Sooooo, the point I'm trying to make is Jackie was the man and so was Elvis both brought energy to the entertainment business both had loyal followers.

  • @drksyde1313 Your comment makes perfect sense. Thanks!

  • if you ask me, whites loved elvis because they never seen a white man sing or perform the way he did( like a black man). They accepted it caused he was white. Jackie Wilson had records before elvis. Blacks were used to it and had been seein that type of talent for years comin from other black perfomers. so its no coincidence that they sound alike. Record companies knew there was money to make with a soul rock sond comin from a white man. crossing over at one of its earliest stages. Fuck elvis
