Because another mother cheetah isn't just gonna adopt him. And besides when honey had the other 3 cubs it was long after before Toto died and he was never seen again. Sorry but this is Africa and its no place for a single cheetah cub. Even cubs with their mothers still have a chance of dying.

honey got killed, but honey wasnt really there to protect him when the baboons came, she was a good 200-300 yards away

honey, the mom got killed by a vet he shot her with a tranquilizer gun and missed the muscle and hit her stomach
