  • Hey thanks man. Great video. Gotta love those80's cars!

  • im looking at a vehicle with a lot of hail damage, i can get the truck lid and hood pretty cheap, but they said they would have to cut off the roof to fix it. could i just sand the roof to bare metal and bondo the whole thing and send it to get painted? or should i take the healiner out and try and fix the dings like you did and proceed with the process?

  • @brownie420ntha719 At the last shop I worked in a few cars that had hail damage the roof was always replaced. id reccomend that the roof be replaced but you can try to hammer them all out and youll have to apply bondo across the whole roof and sand it straight

  • @86camaromike its a 06 pontiac g6 with a sunroof has 50 k miles for 7gs. they told me the roof would have to be cut off, and a new one welded on. dont want to have to go through all that. i can find a trunk, hood and front side fenders for 750. i was gonna have a shop work out the rear panels then hopefully i could work the roof out. they told me 6-7gs to do all the work, im hoping if i do most of the work on the roof myself so i can save money and have this be worth while.

  • @brownie420ntha719 id say then try if youre not going to replace the roof then dor your best to work the dents out and i forgot to add because to thick of a coat of filler will crack use a short strand fiberglass filler over the metal then a light coat of filler and longer the sanding block the straighter the surface will be

  • I am building an old vw and decided to attempt the body work myself. Luckily the body is pretty straight with minor imperfections. There are many small dings all over the car that I notice when I run my hand over it. Should I spread filler over a large area and sand it down or should I hit the low spots one at a time?

  • @56ratbug If they are just very samll dings then yes skim coat the whole area and sand it straight

  • Do you have to strip the paint of to apply the bondo or can you apply it on top ?

  • @singlecam1000 Its better to take all the paint off use 36 grit and take it to the metal bondo will stick right on to that

  • Hell yeah brah

  • @86camaromike hey i have a 1974 ii mustang that my stepdad passed on to me and the fender has at least 3 inch dents or craters.lol from an accident that he had with it when he was in collage and i was wondering if i should just get a new fender of try to bondo it.thankyou and love that your 18 and can do stuff that a skilled machanic cant even doo im totally subscribing to you.

  • @gamermanist thanks for subscribing and as for the dents if the accident was a side swipe the fender could be buckled then youll need a new one. but if not id say give it a try if you feel confident enough se what happens you might supprise yourself ive dont it a few times lol

  • @86camaromike haha ya but what happened was that someone hit it somehow head on and caved it in basically.lol

  • @gamermanist ok then the fender got pushed back id try pulling it see what happens sorry for the late response havent been checking my inbox very often lol

  • @86camaromike haha its alright and thanks we just bought bondo but did it with the screen you should try it!!!

  • great video man, you do a great job of breakin things down and explaining step by step, i now have a better idea on how to tackle the dents on my fender on my project car.
