  • Without "functional" pedals, it is no longer classified as a bicycle in the U.S.

  • I want this video on my Tattoo phone.

  • No. It needs pedals. e-bike is a great concept...adding a small electric motor to an existing bicycle. Adding too much power means it is no longer a bicycle. Taking off the pedals means you lose the capability to pedaling when the battery dies. Oh, this is cute, but it is a girl's bike minus the pedals. Not really innovative at all.

  • If VW can get more people riding with these electric bikes the roads will be better for ALL bikers.

  • fuck a spare.. lol

  • ehm ich bin nackt

  • ale gówno , kolejny chiński badziew

  • i have an electric bike, but to make it go you have to pedal. it goes 35 kms/hr. its nice when i drive through the city, i pass cars, they get stuck at lights, i just go, and never see them again. its faster than driving or taking the bus and free which is also nice. cold in the winter though, and cant drive in rain but its great and saves money when its not raning!

  • HA! This is the only reference of an ''EV'' that's linked with VW. They are going to fall behind, they can do much better. They can't live up to the ''most environmentally car maker'' standards they view themselves as.

  • COME ON! this is a Volkswagen, that bike is so cool!!... and electric bikes already exist but this is really good one :)

  • @juanchisgt

i totally agree with you ,this bike is amazing

its just some people are assholes and always criticize new things even if they are good

  • HELLOOOO!!!

Actually this is not a bicycle. Where are the pedals?

Are this VW guys a MORONS?

And what is blue about bicycle without pedals?

  • Produce it in EU and US ! doggy eaters never will buy it. They love to pull rishoes and ride 1930 bicycles ! I repeat . SHAME ON YOU American and EUROPEAN cars factories ! Keep on crushing our economy with nice ideas like this.

  • VW pieces of CRAP ! They produce it in CHINA to void EU and US. SHAME ON YOU pieces of craps !

  • hope bike get charged automatic when it's back their on a spare tire place, while driving , other wise it's another balast .

  • I wish it was bigger

  • a year and a half passed... does anyone know ? are they selling them already or what ? and what is the price ?

  • I converted my bike to a 36 Volts 15 Amps, and i love it! I purchased the best Battery, travel 32 miles distance at 22 miles per hour. I sold the bike at E bay and make a profit of $950.00

  • Hahaha, there's something very Dr.Evil - MiniMe about the look of this bike and the entire vid in general.

"No no Mini-Me... we do not gnaw on our kit-ty..."

I see Fuk Mi and Fuk Yu are models in this vid... sex-sayyyyyy

  • 0:54 Nice, but there is no pedal, so that means there is a battery. Where is it stored? Each wheel attaches to wheel rim at one side only (force is uneven), so motor can't be very strong, can it?

  • Excellent video. See my channel electric motor new design.

  • 電動自行車 2011少花錢,LESS蹬踏!前輪驅動! check on my cheap ebike 2011!

  • All these great inventions are from china and germany is just copying it ;-)

  • @quantengott BWAAahahaha.... Topic: How to piss off an American:

Tell him that all great inventions are from China

  • I wish they included info about the range and speed of the bike, or if it keeps a charge while stowed. I'd rather have some hybrid that I can pedal on level pavement, but don't need to kill myself going up steep hills. Or at least pedal after the battery dies.

  • Um, i have just one question. Why?

  • GIVE IT PEDALS TOO! This is a scooter.

  • @MrSHITTYSHORTS Dude you are just being ignorant. Electricity is not a limited supply you idiot. This invention also has practical benifits. In case your car breaks down you can just take this out and ride to the closes station. Also if you have to cover a long distance you'd get tired after some time. This thing can you help you cover that distance with hardly any effort. It's also much mobile. And if you care so much about how fat you are how about walking or going for a jog? Try it.

  • where are the shocks? hit a bump and your fuckeddd

  • Awesome folding method! put that on normal bikes

  • thats not a bike, thats a fucking walking aide ....:-/

  • I like all these ideas. What i don't like is their price tag and their focus. The same people who have the ability to build cars running with pure water or hydrogen come up with these ideas to throw ashes in YOUR eyes and make you believe that cars can only be moved by fossil fuel thus the only getaway are these 2 wheel full of risks vehicles. And worse part? They are all concepts. They spend millions of dollars/euros to research the idea, patent it and put it in the drawer so no one can have it.

  • I like it and will buy one unless it costs same as a car.

  • its' too slow for any practical use and it also looks fragile. Range and battery life probably is nonexistent beyond showroom. The idea of foldable and portable transportation is a winner though.

  • looks like the go cycle

  • sieht geil aus;)

  • I think I missed the bike because I looked at the girl in blue dress

  • Who cares about the bike. LOL with the hot kitsch chicks including the Godzilla twins!!!

  • Dear Santa,

  • YEAH!!! That's a great idea :) ... Lets just take everyone that uses a normal bike that requires no electricity and that doesn't use up are limited electricity supply and just replace it with a shitty bike that uses the opposite and says its helping the environment and for some reason it sounds better. And WTF how fat are we?

  • @MrSHITTYSHORTS

OMG, please stay in the sales department... shittiest arguments I've ever heard..

an electric bike does not mean you can't pedal.

The electricity needed to recharge those is minimal... plus, it means less gas because you could easily do your grocery with an electric bike.

OF course it's helping the environnement, what is wrong with you ?

  • @MrSHITTYSHORTS

Also, it's a bike design to help you out in case of emergency, of course it looks kind of shitty.

    Seriously, WTF

  • @MrSHITTYSHORTS The point of it is that it doesn't 'just take everyone that uses a normal bike' does it. It makes people who NEVER get out of their cars think there may be an option other than sat in the car burning fuel & wasting time. You got this totally wrong I think. Also why can't it be charged using a solar panel? Wind turbine? In what way is electricity limited in supply exactly? You can even get electricity from rotting vegetables, waves, sh*t, wind, sunlight!

  • @MrSHITTYSHORTS it's not about replacing regular bikes by electric ones... but think about how many ppl have to go long distances or climb hills and they rather do it by a motorcycle or an automobile.. i think the main concept is to make people use more this electric bike for their daily uses rather then a gas fueled transportation system.. and we have the concept of hybrid bike that just gives u some extra power so you could climb hills or gain some nice velocity but doing some exercise as well

  • @MrSHITTYSHORTS Europeans are generally not fat. They are just as active as Americans or more but know when and what to stop eating.

  • @unsssfire just as active as americans ???? I guess you talking about (arogantly) about US-americans - if they are active, why are they so fat then ???? :-O

  • @CapitanoGUC Hi, I am American. I weigh 115lbs. I am sooooooooooo fat

  • @glitterboymakeup lbs ???? what the hell is that - thats no proper messurment - tell me you wight in standard kilogramms (or tonns:)

  • @CapitanoGUC That is a proper measurement. lbs.=pounds. It is a measurement of weight. And FYI, I was being sarcastic, I am tiny.

  • @glitterboymakeup what the hell is lbs ??? - how many Kilogramms ar one lbs ?????

  • @CapitanoGUC lbs. is an abbreviation for pounds. One pound is 0.45359237 Kilogram

I see you are from Germany? Pounds are standard in America. There are other measurements other than Kilograms, jsyk.

  • @glitterboymakeup kilogram is the proper messurment in physiks evrywhere in the modern world. Not only in Germany even Greatbritain is teching it in now scool ...:-/

  • @CapitanoGUC We do not use kilos in the US. Pounds are proper too, they are just 2 different systems. They both coincide. Deal

  • @glitterboymakeup so you are far behind in th usa ....:-/ - but never mind - you are bankrupt anyway ...:-D

  • @CapitanoGUC I am not bankrupt. I am not my country. And the US is not far behind, we simply do things differently. Seriously, you have some major damage if you think every country should be like yours.

  • @glitterboymakeup i don´t think all countrys should be like mine - but every country which wants to play a rolle in science should use the metric system and the international system of uniuts (the SI) ....:-/

  • @MrSHITTYSHORTS Electricity is hardly limited.

  • @MrSHITTYSHORTS are you a troll or just ignorant? an electric motor requires less energy than the human body to travel a similar distance, so in comparison, ebikes are actually better for the environment than regular bikes, since they have a smaller footprint than regular bikes.

Also, OUR electricity supply isn't limited, at least in any practical sense. Electric power can be generated quite easily.... it's not like there is some finite amount of electric power that we are running out of lol...

  • @MrSHITTYSHORTS i would buy this bike to get me to and from MickyD's... and Arby's ... and Dunkin Donuts... and QuikTrip... yumm

  • @MrSHITTYSHORTS

atm energy is limited because of governments spending all their money on investing in cars. If they start investing their money in electric cars, bikes and more electric resources this will be a possibility in the future. Maybe this isn't the best way and solution but they're going about it the right way. And people that uses bikes will still use bikes i think this is aiming for the maybe older or people using cars, people using cars will get as fat as people using these bikes

  • Fantastic Bike next generation bike must have usb to phone charge Anyway some bike have motor they go fast Bike ought to be with push pedals when push and recover energy in order to load or connect the AC motor but UK have gocycle bike went you push red button you starts the motor ok that all

  • Excellent idea. Fantastic

  • where is the motor to power it??

  • @arshmier looks like a hub-motor (the big disk in the middle of the back wheel). Batteries are probably in the frame.....

  • just 5 thousand...woah what a deal

  • @TheRichieCShow That's what a good mtn.bike costs these days....but you're right--not very accessible to the masses.....

  • como mola !! :) estos de volkswagen...!!

  • how come they dont show this kind of bike here in usa

  • @residentevil808 stuff like this is rarely available in europ either, despite being developed and built here, the only people who see the stuff is the asians.

  • fun to use a good environ>>yeaha

  • No pedals, heavy, expensive.. google carryme dc ;)

  • @jmquez gets people out of their cars for a little bit.....

  • @jmquez gets people out of their cars (and driving a little less) for a little bit.....

  • Think psychology people...

these Europeans and American are trying to bring china's self esteem down by showing a bicycle in a great Successful China...

to subconsciously remind China that Europe and America are still the Big Brother...

and china needs their assistance and expertise but most of all ....

their real motive is to steal the hard-work of Chinese people and companies and take 99% of the profit of made in china products

  • @watup2154 So, the West should stop innovating and wait for China to catch up?

  • its time China should Remove the middle man of Europe and America who are keeping almost all the profits in their pockets..

e.g. usa & europe support their bankrupt economy & consumers by Chinese products..get huge Loans from china...& at the same time bad mouth & spreading negative propaganda against china.. just remember in this information age. media is your first defense & china has not a single TV channel of CNN or BBC level to educate the world and show real China's success story to World

  • @watup2154 China is building things the West creates! to take out the middleman as you say, would remove CHINA from the picture.

  • having pedals best ebike ever

    without them, a lame.

  • @MrKikelenon it couldn't fold up if it had pedals and a chain, which would completely defeat it's purpose

  • Yes, Busettii Bikes have the good pedaling system so you can use it as a bike or pedal with the motor. I have one and it runs about 75--85 miles per charge but you can also pedal like a regular bike. Also, it really goes fast even in throttle mode. Check out busettii.com if you need more info. ciao

  • If you(VW researchers read this), backup power pedaling can be handeled by hoping transmition( Look at aquaskiper or another kind of bike powewered by excentric driveshaft), or is posible mechanism of platform which is pumped moving center of gravity rider from one side to another. But this ebike is nice idea behind. Same work sholud serve usual ordinary folding bike with pedals( go with car near city and rest of travel(few km) absolve on folding bike to battle city trafic and parking problems.

  • I am cumming in my pants right now...

  • make another model that can pedal and cenerate its own energy somehow... now that id pay more then 4000 for

  • its perfect ..it as all good features like look, floding system ,slim motor, nice lights ,disc brakes ,it is the future of bike or bicycle.........

  • I have an electric bike which can be ridden without the battery power or assisted pedal power and I love it! Mine cannot be folded as I would not use this facility.

  • I really like the eco cheerleaders.

  • i think it works like this : the batteries charge the engine that spins the wheels then wheels charge the generator that charges the batteries :) . simply amazing

  • I have a Mini 40 Mile Busettii bike and it runs 50-55 miles on one battery charge. I also tried my friends Vortex Mountain bike by Busettii. It ROCKS ! Can get up to 32 mph an on one charge that bike set the new record of 86 miles. Hope it becomes a big hit. In California many people like Busettii because they cost around $1700 but can go 50--86 miles on one charge depending on model. Maria in Cali

  • @maria271011 Yes, I have one too, really go fast and long.

  • needs pedal power back up

  • @fabianoasc I like this innovative and creative bike, mostly the fact that you can pack it and take it everywhere easily. I'd really love to have one of them. And I agree with TheBazillion: they should not forget the "pedal" option, just in case...

  • We do Asian marriage service now lushfmlk.info

  • those chinese bitches are kinda hot

  • Very good, thank you! Sehr gut, danke! Tai hao le, xie xie!

  • How about Kinetic energy also?

  • I THINK THAT THE WORLD WILL HAVE SUFFICIENT ELECTRICAL ENERGY FOR CARS AND BIKES

  • So its a lite scooter. Relax and take a chill pill or two.

  • É LEGAL QUE UMA GRANDE EMPRESA COMO A VOLKSWAGGEN ESTEJA PENSANDO NO TRANSITO DO FUTURO!!!!A BIKE VAI SUBSTITUIR O CARRO E TODOS TEREMOS UMA DESSAS UM DIA!!!

  • Is it available with Dura Ace ?

  • wow i want this bike. but make it cheap.

  • What is the weight and height limit on this thing?

  • doesn't change the fact that I need a full size pick-up or a full size van

  • theres no point cuz people use bikes to exercise also so the point of an electric bike is pointless!!

  • @zookiable I totally agree. The fun in using a bike is cycling it and not looking like a sedentary person who can't bother to pedal his own bike. Finally, by seating there and not pedalling it you won't generate any heat. It's non-viable for cold countries. Now if BMW target it to the elderly then I think it's a very good idea.

  • @zookiable Your view on bike usage is rather... blind. I use my bike to go to some place quickly, not to exercise. And also because it's fun and easy to park, cheap and pretty low maintenance. Most people I know don't use it to exercise either. We use it for TRANSPORTATION.

An electric motor might be quite useful in some situations (although I would find it unnecessary if I already had a car).

  • An electric bicycle will be awesome right now for me.

  • yo quiero una porfavor

  • Aren't there a dozen folding bikes one can buy?

    And this one is special...why?

Because it fits into a little well?

Because it's the same color as the car?

  • @DataRelater

    — L. Ron Hubbard, HCO Policy Letter of 15 August 1960, "DEPT OF GOVT AFFAIRS"

  • I can't help but wonder how I'd lock it up too.

  • A electric bike completely defeats the purpose of exercising. It should at least have pedals to work manually, imo.

  • I want one... but without the car please.

So what's the price and release date?

  • jaja estos chinos xD

  • where can i get one of these and how much does it cost?

  • IT SOULD HAVE PEDALS!!!!!!

  • @JohnKeotes for more speed, totally true.

  • I believe ze one guy in the back iz in a trance.

  • oi6ybh7uby7h6gvf5yhbg5v5gtb5tfgc5gtv4rfxcrc45cx3edze3z

  • @juniorfilho3 e aí boiola

  • This is not a bike! Isto não é uma bicicleta. É uma moto sem placa, quase uma mobilete. Bicicleta tem pedais, exige um minimo de esforço... Bonitinha, mas ordinária. Alem de tudo consome energia...

  • This is not a bike! Isto não é uma bicicleta. É uma moto sem placa, quase uma mobilete. Bicicleta tem pedais, exige um minimo de esforço... Bonitinha, mas ordinária

  • Is pedaling really so hard?

  • lets see it on the street, who rides on polished floors. wheres the suspension for the potholes?

  • I want one! Are they available now or a prototype?

  • nice

  • Comment removed

  • la idea no es hacer ejercicio y disminuir el consumo energético???

    cada vez mas flojos.

  • Awesome idea and should be extended. Electric bikes arre more energy efficient than humans and the carbon footprint will be lower -especially when the rider is not vegetarian and as the proportion of electricity from renewables increases. Power consumption means that most commuters would use less than 1kwh per day and this can easily be supplied with P.V. from local sources, at which point the CO2 emission is very low indeed. Humans = <25% efficient. Battery electric now 90-92% efficient.

  • @atbee Don't we take lithium internally to stop the mentally illness. If you are unable to appreciate a 30 mile ride, all but hope lost!!!

  • muy bueno ¡¡¡

  • Sorry, that´s not a bike, a bike get´s it´s energy from the person who drives it. This is a very thin electric motorcicle. Now everyone calls them e-bikes because it´s trendy and the attention that REAL bike movements around the world are getting. But this thing moves basically on an electric motor: that needs batteries, and batteries are NOT very friendly to the enviroment. I do not like it, sorry.

  • @TripulacaoQro With respect to your environmental concern, you are completely wrong. Batteries are increasingly compatible with the lower carbon age and they are less and less toxic, now that lithium and recycling are increasingly the norm. The comparison with human power is very favourable to electric. The reason is that increased physical effort always results in increased calorie consumption, and research does show that more activity causes more food intake which is very energy expensive.

  • @atbee and last, The comparison with human power and electric power it´s very relative. The energy cost of producing the energy for the bicycle driver is ver different from the USA to India for example, i think it is inacurate to generalize.

This VW "bike" a cool transport for many people, and a good idea for certain drivers. But i still feel it´s not ok to call it a bicycle.

  • This is best idea ever !!! Now you drive to bar and use the bike to get back home.

  • The idea is great. The fact that you can "fold" the bike and pack it (or take it with you at the work place for example) is awesome. However, whenever thinking about electric bike, one must have the option to use the pedal in case you run out of energy. I'd totally buy one if it's priced reasonably!

  • @TheBazillion It's free with VW vehicles.... soon

  • @TheBazillion PEDALS needs some extra mechanical complements, thats the problem.

  • @TheBazillion yeah thay should add pedals and a small alternator so when it goes dead you can pedal which moves you and recharges th batterys to :D but still if it resonably priced i would get one

  • how much is this one

  • Get a better voice over artist, this one sounds a bit odd.

  • VW is so retarded, they own Lamborghini, Bugatti and Maserati thats not environmentally friendly and I heard that this does 3 miles to the charge and for like 10 years french bike manufactures already made a hybrid bike running on pedal power and an electric motor. VW is just clueless and smug.

  • I want to buy one of these bikes for sure.

  • But where are the brakes?

  • yeah why making sport cars if you can make this pice of shit

volkswagen you are a german brand

    make reliable cars strong cars

thats why people prefer audis, because audi are not that pathetic

    bike?

wtf is wrong with you, volkswagen?

  • @PhaetonPower You retard, VW owns Audi.

  • @FrontalTraction

    oh your soooo smart

vw owns skoda seat audi lamborghini bugatti and other cars

    shut up, mister smartboy

    go and drive your vw-bike

  • @PhaetonPower Saying you hate VW but love Audi is like saying you hate Audi but love the R8. You make no sense.

  • @FrontalTraction

    i never liked the r8

its a fucking overrated wannabe sportcars

and what are you talking about?

i liked audi and vw, but now i hate them both, because audi`s design is boring as hell and volkswagen produces boring and cheap cars

except the actual phaeton and touareg

dont invent things, because you dont know me

  • @PhaetonPower I said it was like saying that, not that you actually said that.

  • @FrontalTraction Audi's are shite they're front heavy and most of all, DULL.

  • @toyotaprius79 I never said I like Audi. But all cars, including the Prius hurt the environment. Priuses just hurt it slightly less.

Also, Prius owners are smug too.

  • build you own.

  • why jap in the back..

  • useless for healt people

  • @swriel why do bikes have to be for health-people? it's for practical use!

  • <
