  • whats so dam special with this train?

  • ładna miejscówka

  • i will sit in the Amtrak Am Fleet coaches

  • What's everybody getting so worked up about those two crossing the tracks?? Close call my left foot! Close call is when the train passes and rips off your back pocket!!!

  • those idiots were tresspassing on BNSF Property you don't go walking acroos tracks infront of a train you head to the crossing.

  • The video popped up when I opened YouTube . . . we had been looking for videos of the UP 844 earlier, and following steam-related links.

  • Wow sweet a SP steam locomotive and amtrak heritage unit!

  • Gigantisch!!!!

  • through Utube randomly, bless u

  • Sometimes we really are just stupid ants.

  • most randomest train evar!!!!!

  • Fantastic video!!!I have heard that thiw steam locomotive is the most beautiful in the world!!Nice job....have a look at my videos!Greetings from Greece!

  • Youtube recommended this vid

  • no seriously...how stupid can you get?

  • I'm lost, but the only thing dumber then trying to beat a train with a car, is with your body.

RIP all you dumb people out there.

  • Got this video because YouTube recommended it. Those two are crazy! People like that are why railfans get a bad rap in certain online forums, earning nicknames like foamers and such. Great video, taken from a SAFE distance from 4449. I guess those two never heard of the zoom feature on their cameras!

  • wow it. brutal

  • BELLO

  • that is a really neat old train

  • I got here from a lady that was being an idiot and turning TWICE infront of a fully loaded CSX train with about 60 cars. Unbelievable.

  • @WindowsGamingXP Thanks, I would like to see that (send me a PM)

  • @ervans kk :)

  • "Peace Train" - Cat Stevens My son and I googled top ten train songs and your video was in the right hand side of the youtube video

  • @cmirochn That's great. I really like the Cat

  • what a beautiful steamer. they should have steamers all the time not these dumb diesels. i love steamers and always have loved them and always will. we'll probably have to go back to them when we run out of gas. =)

  • As liberal as most Washingtonians are, it's a wonder any ot them showed up to catch a glimpse of anything so environmentally UNfriendly as a steam locomotive.

If Obama had his way he'd do away with steam engines. Make no mistake about it, he

HATES anything that rings of Western might and technology. Look at what he did to another mainstay of ours: NASA.

I can't wait to send him packing back to Chicago.

  • @1966gto1000 It's amazing how absolutely anything can be used to bash the president. Instead of appreciating the beautiful piece of American history shown here, you'd rather find an excuse to make up s**t about Obama. And I even think people are too hard on Bush. What the hell, screw politics, and let the steam engines roll.

  • I just love that horn :) I wish i had some of those trains where i live

  • I found this by just watching video's of trains.

  • great video, poor title. a close call would have been if that fat tub lady fell on the tracks and the hubby had to drag her off and pull her off the track as the front part of the train misses her by inches, that is a close call, anything else is routine

  • "Stand WELL away from the edge of platform 1, the next train is not scheduled to stop at this station" haha

  • got here from watching this one >>(HD) UP 7742 Freight Train in Bridal Veil, Oregon

TBH, I thought this was a vid I hadn't seen. *close call* and my interest was piqued. Then I saw the couple walking beside the tracks. I HAD seen this one. "oh i've seen this one" I said. lol

  • Comment removed

  • got here by the left column (i was watching your vid about the retarded p&w signal)

  • By crossing the tracks, they were the wrong side of the sun. Hardly worth the risk just for a dark, shadowy picture.

  • I got here by looking for 'trains' to show my toddlers and I clicked on these links b/c they're from Oregon where we live.

  • Not a close call, but I hope their pictures turned out terrible since they got in the way of everybody else.

  • This was not a close call.

  • I agree, i have seen some close ones here in Bama!

  • wow those two were a bunch of idiots....

  • Opened YouTube and perused recommended videos, good choice of location were they the people you referred to in your upload.

  • Someone should've yelled "TRAAAAAIIINN" in slow motion......

  • compare this to a train here in england my my my this is HUGEEEEEEEEEEE

  • @garyuk17

Our steam locos could haul some pretty big ass at high speeds.

  • @ShadowRSonic We have some high speed trains too no escaping them but im just loving the side of these trains in your country amazingly HUGE

  • @garyuk17

What do you mean? I live in the UK too.

  • @ShadowRSonic Sorry confused.com for a momen thought this was ya video haha

  • Hey, if you gotta wait 3 hours somewhere....what a great place. Nice video! I would remove the title 'close call'. It cheapens your otherwise great production.

  • Hi, My name is Gerd and i`m from Düsseldorf, Germany. I like Railroads, Ships, Aircrafts..., everything moving technics. Your Video was seen, when I openen my Youtube Channel. It´s nice to see that people are doing the same dangerous things all over the world!

    Bye

  • Appeared in my "Recommended For You" category - guess I watch WAAAY too many train vids.

  • When you hear that noise it means your not supposed to cross the rail road...

  • it was pulling a nother train

  • what's the bloody point of this video?

  • I've always liked that engine

  • Lindo! Teus vídeos são ótimos. Parabéns.

  • It was recommended.

  • Close call? LOL They had all day to cross the tracks!!

  • Mount Hood makes a great intro and backdrop for your a great train. Nice choice of location! I got to this video from one of your others, but I can't remember where I started before that.

  • got here from whale explosion then most view train then here :)

  • Lol thats clever! having the New School pushing the Old School because of the other cars

  • I ilke it!

  • If you think this is a close call you ain't seen nothing. Where i work, every time we go over this crossing there's always the idiotic tourists that never listen to the bells or anything and what do they do? Keep driving over the crossing with out the care in the world. If we hit them, we wont be able to run trains anymore..

  • Those people should've waited for the train to pass.

  • great video my friend.

  • I got here looking at another one of ur train vids. very close call! beautiful sound!

  • i got here cuz i subed it was on my youtube home page

  • nice camera dude,

  • wow when i first seen this i though she was going a bit slower but then wow she was flying, stupid people need to learn to respect trains properly

  • @Barricade360 thing about trains, they always look like they are going so slow

  • why dident they look bolth ways they almost died

  • CHEATING!! (the P40)

  • Thats one of those very old trains that ive ever heard since I was only 4 yrs old.

  • neat video! great shot of a passing train! but I would not say that was a "close call."

  • ,,

  • i was on that train :)

  • i got to your video by accident, nice catch

  • The white moutain in the background is verry nice!

  • Holy shit they didn't die.

  • it seems to b so slow but then its faster than expected

  • why does it have a amtrac loco on it darnt

  • i got here watching another close call happen

  • Nice shot. Nice to see her doing track speed with all the sound too.

Just wrablin through some Rr video's and came across yours. Started out watching Billr991 's

video of his HO layout Southern Pacific RR in the cascades Part II that he sent me yesterday 12/31/11. By The Way, HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL! Stay safe around the tracks!

  • 1:22 I wish he would of blown a huge plume of steam at them. 8-)

  • Where is it?

    How can I go there?

  • i got here by watching parts of the "tough guys" movie

  • That new (original)whistle sounds absolutely gorgeous on her going that fast!

  • ciary ida :-)

  • What if one of them had tripped?

  • I did a search for "trains"

  • wow they crossed when they saw the train.. stupidity right there!

  • Comment removed

  • Thats not even a close call.

  • @Brian4449 actually it is too close. shit gets thrown around under the train. if something were to fly out from there, she would have been seriously injured/killed by the train and it would be those 2's fault. thats why on a road at a railroad crossing where you are supposed to stop at the white line, the line is not 1ft from the side of the train.

  • IT'S CHRISTEMAS EVE!!!!!!

  • These all are very good film takes of the SP-4449 steam engine, I love them, and I'll enter them into my "American Rail Adventures" Playlist.

  • Just surfin the Tube and went for 4449 videos. Good shots here. Pete

  • Stupid people, maybe they need an eye wrangler!

  • I would have laid on the tracks and casually shot the best film footage in the world and then roll over to my side and smoke a cig, feeling the whoosh traveling by.

  • is it a steam engine

  • @SuperDesi45 yep its a Steam engine built in 1941 as a GS-4 retired in 1957. Removed from outdoor display in oaks park. restored at burlington northerns hoyt street roundhouse. and became the freedom train 1975-1976

Going under repairs sometime in 2012.

  • @SuperDesi45 yes my buddy it is a oil burning steam engine

  • so they crossed the track for nothing? idiots

  • Muito lindo, deve ser maravilhoso viajar neste trem!

  • idiots cool train love gs-4s

  • I would hardly call that a close call.

  • @MarkConductor775 .....one little stumble on that uneven ground..........it was dumb

  • the stupidity of women is a fact ....

  • Not even close!

  • Awesome train!

    Even better video work!!

2 people crossing the tracks....... IDIOTS!!!!

  • WOW!!! The scenery alone makes this a wonderful video. And the train capture is wonderful. Gorgeous!

  • Beautiful landscape.

  • SP 4449: GET OUTTA MY WAY I GOT A EXCURSION TO TAKE TO WISHRAM!

    People: wha????

SP 4449: JUST STOP RUNNING IN FRONT OF TRAINS! DONT SMEAR BLOOD ALL OVER MY DAYLIGHT PAINT SCHEME!

  • Is the backlit side of the tracks really that much better... morons.

  • Get rid of ths stupid ad.

  • Good video. The train is very imposing sitting here watching this in HD on my TV.

Weird to see a steamer moving that fast. Looks like the cranks are going to fly off wheels.

    Velvety smooth!

  • I get here because this video was in my "recommended" tab. Ive liked trains my whole life. Just saw UP's #844 on it's static display 1 day layover last week

  • Foamers+cameras+mainline=splat! Stay OFF our track. If you wanna get close to trains, then get a job with em.

  • this vid really give a idea how fast trains are people think they can easy get across but the time it took its fast and think about the other this is a steam engine so more modern ones well lets just say splat!

  • that wasnt even that close of a call. they crossed about 12 seconds before the train wouldve hit them.

  • Wow some people are just so ignorant. I honestly don't know why they needed to cross the tracks like that when they could have stayed where they were and gotten good shots in a safe manner.

  • wasnt that close.

i seen a guy get killed walking across the tracks about 3 months ago in dade city florida.

messed with my head for a couple weeks.

  • to be honest i dont know how the f**** i got to this video, but its awesome lol

  • Why is there a Leslie A200 on the front?

  • @WPRR1 When SP 4449 was in active service back in the 50's, she operated passenger trains from LA to San Francisco. Since the line was usually very foggy, she used the A200 horn because it projects it's sound further and does a better job of warning people in fog when you can't really see the train coming. Now, she only uses her Leslie A200 horn as a back-up when the whistle doesn't work or when people get too close.

  • that was an awesome video. the background is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. The sounds and sights are fabulous.

  • Beautiful video. Wow. I wouldn't really call that a close call though.

  • Comment removed

  • How can the engineer even see!

  • If they had tripped or something, it would have been all over!

  • u were zoomed in really close looked good from far away good camera

  • freakin pig headed no good tresspasers

  • Why not stay on the grass ? Why cross the tracks and nearly die ? ......

  • @hermitmason111 Good point

  • @ervans agree talk about stupidy

  • A steam engine pulling an Amtrak engine? Epic!

  • @CSXrailfan25 Thanks

  • Beautiful view! I just subscribed because my little preschooler loves to watch trains and you get good videos on them (I do love the background, though).

  • @littleblondemop Thank you

  • That was awesome! nice catch...weather there looks great!

  • @DieselSmoke92 Thanks, it was a great day

  • @ervans Its cold here in Alberta now so its not as fun as railfanning in T-SHIRT weather. Check out my videos!

  • @DieselSmoke92 Your right about that

  • Two things show me that those two don't really do this hobby a lot: They are trespassing on the ROW like it's their neighborhood sidewalk and they gave up the side with the good lighting for the backlit side of the tracks.

  • @AmtrakSurfliner768 Yes you are right

  • im glad to see the daylight back in it original paint scheme,i hatted the freedom color and the soild black color

  • Gorgeous!

  • shes BL**DY Beautifal :) im from the uk I LOVE THIS TRAIN

  • That was a close call? Hmm... I find it funny they hope over to the side with less sun lol, but to call that a close call it kind of nanny stating it.

  • Do people not see that these are just machines like anything else? That humans assembled and humans are operating? It seems like people forget that sometimes

  • Yes if either had tripped they would have had 15 seconds to get off the tracks. That's way too close. Stupid fans like this give the rest of us a bad name.

  • They had perfect light on that curve then they go onto the dark backlit side... musta been a great picture....

  • I love her new whistle!

  • Where do we get tickets for a ride on SP 4449? Or is it invite only?

  • Wonderful, jmarcos18......BRASIL

  • Like the way the guy just ran off to get his shot if the girl tripped well you know Great Catch though Man!

  • Its daylight!

  • I love seeing videos of "other" crazy train people. What we do to get a photo of one of these POWERFUL locomotives go by. Glen laughed at me when we camped next to the tracks at Tehachapi Loops - but I was in heaven!

  • @krisstewar Thanks, glad to hear

  • @krisstewar Getting the "perfect shot" should never mean tresspassing on railroad property or running in front of a historic steam locomotive like these clowns did. This action gives all the rule following railfans a really bad name with the railroads.

  • at 1:14 i think thats me waving out the former UP baggage car!

  • @mark10788 Thanks, did you see the couple on the tracks?

  • @ervans Uhhh I can't even remember! i did sadly not hear the whistle when this moment hit. But i remember when i had the moment i would stick my head out and yell yeee haaaa! or woooooooo whooooo!!!!!! just to bring a show for people to record & post.

  • those two have been around trains risky propbably but adds to the fun of being a train spotter

  • @autahi49 I agree.

  • @autahi49 It's still dumb to do. Pick a side and stay. The train was going 60mph. You don't screw with that.

  • Sweet awesomeness!!!

  • @dwkcamman611 Thanks

  • ufo on there

  • was the genesis there to help on hills and such?

  • @dcarleenfrick JETZcorp said There are two main reasons I know of for the diesel. One is for the dynamic braking, which is much safer and more effective than the air brakes on the steam locomotive and railcars. The other reason is that, for insurance reasons, the consist has to be registered as an Amtrak service but in order to do that there must be an Amtrak locomotive somewhere in the consist. It may serve other functions as well, like maybe providing electrical power for the consist?

  • Very nice video!... I like it!!!

  • That's a good trackbed, too. Fast and smooth.

  • Worth the wait..nice video.

  • Whew, i would of sprinted across too, she was hualing Ass around that rock, great video.
