He is behaving as a five year old behaves. Five year olds have tantrums, grown ups have tantrums...About the sharing with his brother aspect tell him what a big boy he is when he does share with his brother. Praise him for sharing make it a huge deal when he shares and he will began to share more often. There isnt a certain age when tantrums go away. As parents we just have to learn to deal with them and they will reduce in frequency overtime.
Seems like you're making it worse by filming him, in the beginning didn't he ask you to put it away? And if he's in "time-out", you should leave him alone and not give him the satisfaction of having your attention.
Have some of you ever heard of don't have anything nice to say don't say anything? You don't live this mom's life and you have no idea what normal discipline she gives him. You have no idea if he actually has something mental he is dealing with. Ignorance is what these hateful comments are get educated and show some compassion. No wonder the world is in the mess it is, no one can be supportive or give good FRIENDLY advice.
Hi: It sounds like he's suffering from sibling rivalry more than simple defiance. I've seen tantrum's caused because the child can't have what he wants or refuses to do what you ask and objects get thrown and smashed when the child is really enraged. Maybe giving K a hug when he won't do what you want will help. Good luck.
Ughhhh... Man, it just feels like I'm feeding from the hate and rage of young children. It just makes me feel so accomplished... 2AM, stalking YouTube, watching people rant these kids off... It feels right.
I understand the way you feel, and while I'm all for seeing a small child humiliated in front of the entire world, I really don't think it's a good idea for you to post these videos online. I mean, it's your decision and all, but remember that you're the one who's going to have to deal with it years down the line when he's a 30+ year old virgin holed up in his room and resenting you because you ruined his chances at having a social life all for the sake of "documentation".
Does he have ADHD? Used to give my mom hell like that. As a matter of fact, last Mother's Day, I made a "Thank You for not Aborting Me, or Sending Me to a Foster Home Even Though You Probably Thought About It and I Wouldn't Blame You for One Second" card. She just found it hilarious. Hahahaha!
I used to be like that up until I was abou 8 years old and I would blame my sister (she's 21 now) for everything. I would hit her, scratch her, kick her, etc.
I used the Board of Education to warm backsides, I think he turned out all right. He's married with a beautiful daughter, and just made Chief Petty Officer in the Navy.
Hmm... his comment on why he wouldn't share "there wasn't enough room." Sounds like it might have been an avoidable situation. I stay home with my kids and its amazing how many of these little problems can be avoided if you can catch it before it get bad.
I have 3 and time outs did NOT always work at that age. lol A nice swat on the can was sometimes called for. And to this day they know it. My son is now 20 and my daughters 18 and 16. :?)
It’s humiliating enough for a child to be disciplined in private, but then to post it on the Internet? What purpose does this serve? Parents are role models for their children. No wonder teens are engaging in such questionable activities online, if that’s what they see adults doing, then maybe it’s okay for them.
What's up with the crazy negative comments - have none of these people had kids? He's tired, he's 5, and he wasn't sharing. He doesn't need to be smacked around. I think its hilarious with the "don't take my picture" as he's on camera. The finger in the frame is a funny touch too! As a family you will be rolling with laughter in the later years. Sharing with siblings: one of the tough life lessons we all have to learn.
@XxMeepNucleerxX Has the right yes, But she is is mother she can film him if she wants too, Also she was mad, He was in a timeout and started throwing a fit =w=
Embarrassing your son on YouTube is your way of punishing him? Yeah, that's pretty dick. Your son is now an easy target for bullying and other types of social problems. I hope your happy.
@nn120974 .....distressed cuz he cant play with the computer? thats a bunch of b.s. and he is actin a fool and she is handeling it well as far as im conserned cuz some people would have gave him something to really cry about
someone needs to start teaching this growing boy what it is to be a man. THis is not good behavior for a boy his age. You better nip that in the butt quick or you will be sorry for it later.
It's not bad parenting. I remember throwing tantrums at his age, my nephew did it, and so did my brother. Every kid is going to throw a tantrum. And my mom didn't hit me...granted after she divorced my dad she became neglectful and abusive...but all she did was put me in my room and leave me alone to scream and cry until I reasoned with myself that it was stupid to do so. And I'm not an unruly defiant child now and I'm 15.
A few good smacks on the legs would have straigtened this kid up. If that don't get his attention a few more certainly would. Kids learn pretty quick when the pitch fits not to do it when they get a few spankings for their behavior. I got much worse that a few smacks when I was a child and it tought me to respect my parents and do what I was told when I was told. It also tought me to be polite and respectful to other people.
@firejus11 Forget the spoon. Just follow my families old saying. "Apply the BOARD OF EDUCATION to the SEAT OF KNOWLEDGE will make for a much better child." Which means what? The seat is the seat of all humans. Their butt. The board is a six inch wide, two feet long, one inch thick wooden plank with a handle. More commonly known as a PADDLE. You apply a paddle to that kids butt and you got yourself a deal. Worked wonders for us. My dad broke two on me but I have not acted up in years.
@nickwalco At least that way if your child's driving you crazy with their tantrums you can go online, see a worse tantrum someone else's kid has thrown and not feel like your child is the anti-christ lol
I'm laughing but I do know parents that have looked this up too for the same reason. There's nothing wrong with that.
hmmm....... sounds like me n my bro when we were little
........ time out = they listen more if you let them get away with it they end up not acting like they are the age they are they'll act like they are 6 years old lol
Dont worry thats a pretty normal way for a tired 5 year old to act lol I have seen worse. Your little boy is a cutie and your a good mom. Bad moms wouldnt have done anything good for you for giving your son a time out when he isant listening!
@Verbeekstink It does? then you have a fail life. You're one of those people that live through your kids. People like you have no real accomplishments in life, other then "teaching your kids," But all you do is make your kids soft and weak, way to be a horrible parent.
