  • Dryden was a very underrated figure in terms of his importance in the development of the modern mask. Also note how he holds his stick like Bower, Binkley and Caron. Few goalies held it like that. Saw him play in his "infancy" in Chicago. A true class act.

  • I love the sabres.

thanks so much for posting this.

    I really enjoyed it

  • Nice...you must have been a big Dave Dryden fan...couldn't even see who was in goal for the NS's.

  • @railcar123 Sorry it took so long to respond... I played goalie growing up and Dave was one of my instructors at hockey camp. I liked to film certain goalies to emulate their style if that makes sense. Great guy too...

  • @lonnieman

makes perfect sense.....seems today ALL goalies play the same (butterfly) and LOOK the same. Same gear, same mask same style ect. Back then each goalie had a different approach and different mask, gear ect. so one picked and chose what style suited him (her) and studied it. Great vid btw.

  • Love those Uniforms....I have every team from the 1967 and 1970 expansion years...including home and away of both these teams...guess this would have ben shot at the Met...loved the green gold and white seats.

  • Fabulous!!!!

  • This is from 72-73 or early 73-74. Tim Horton is playing for the sabres as is Gerry Meehan.

  • Incredible footage!
