At their core, they are about income inequality, they are about the pervasive corruption of politics and the role that large banks and corporations play in that corruption, and to a lesser extent, war profiteering and other issues. Smashing things and vandalizing and hurting people is not going to help anything. What does "being a coward" have to do with anything.

The media feed people a line on how it works, and sure you can bash the banks a bit (usually the wrong banks) but the real focus should be on the government and also on the US government who legislated this. But on the other hand, I am sure you probably know alot more about the Italian government and its corruption than I do and yes Berlusconi is a disgrace.
