  • At least 100 of the views are from me.

  • This song makes me feel good all over! One of my absolute favorites period!

  • the emotions i feel just make me tear up when i hear this classic masterpiece. music like this is just a memory.... but i'll keep coming back for more..... :)

  • @househeadericmd - It's the same way with me. Sorry Neil (Young), Nicolette OWNS this song. This is the epitome of the '70's.

  • @Waynet126 Considering Neil wrote it, I think he'd feel complimented.

  • i would not want to pay the shampoo bill

  • @stella362436100

    she can really work it

  • I actually sort of have a similar story of how she died. I have depression and a few years ago I took alot of Tylenol pills. Sadly for her though she wasn't able to make it out.

  • this song came out right after the viet nam war ended and sang about what every american was feeling, love was needed to pull us out of the dark and deep hole we all fell into. great post!! brings hope for what love can do!!

  • love the bass on this i play it all the and even aDD a bit of tasteful thumping towards the end..

  • Charlie Manson on Flute!

  • didn't neil young help her write this song?

  • @baked4211 No, Neil Young wrote the song all by himself. Let her use it on her album and release it as a single instead of doing so himself like he originally planned. I'm a Neil freak and love his verison, but he wouldn't have had as big of a hit with it, I think. Her version is more top-40.

  • Another great talent taken away too soon.

  • Amazing hair!! She could have been the Rapunzel of music!

  • first time i heard this on AM radio to the left of the dial in 1978 i loved this song.

FM radio picked it up a few months later. when i first saw nicolette on tv or the cover of her 1979 album she pleasantly looked like someone i knew earlier as a very young child but i am not sure who it was. there truly was magic in songs like this.

  • i was named after her lol

  • that is one bitchin' flute solo!

  • Brings back good memories!

  • lived in Prarie Village Ks, when I 1st heard her, God Bless

  • There's no magic anymore.

  • Questa canzone mi ricorda l'infanzia quando un amico la suonava e cantava e suonava con la chitarra, bellissimi momenti....

Una preghiera per Nicolette Larson, sei sempre nei nostri cuori

  • damn this audio sucks so bad !! there are better versions on here....sounds LIKE SHIT!

  • This song remaind me struggle time just arrived to Kansas city. In JCC college met a nice nurse student which did not tell her how beautiful she was. Nicolette passed away for brain swelling. She is in the sky shining like a gorgeous star

  • Ah...the messages in songs of the 70's. Simply don't compare to today at all. Not that there isn't a lot of wonderful music in the world today, but, for those of you who remember when this played on the radio and how it felt to turn it up, windows down and muscle on the road....well, you know the feeling I have after listening to this now. Wonderful woman...lost too soon.

  • This song is just haunting from the 1st I heard it in 1978 to now , no one could sing it like she did. Praise Neil for giving it to her . I have not been a fan of her later work but I always come back to this one version. Great, wonderful voice, timeless arrangement!!!

  • RIP Nicolette Larson (1952-1998).

  • One of the finest songs of the 1970's and reflection of what there was.

  • It's weird, but I remember exactly where I was when I first heard this song. Loved it back in the day. Great memories.

  • The song has deep meaning for me. What a wonderful talent she was. A good soul she was.

  • She's gonna wait a long time.

  • Kansas City Missouri Girl who Graduated From Bishop Hogan High School. We lost you too soon Nicolette. 6 date will stick in my mind forever John Kennedy, John Lennon, Elvis Presley, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, And last but not Least Nicolette Larson. When I find Myself at the Gates of Pearl all I'm going to ask for is Front Row seats to Watch and Listen to Gods Band.

  • @sliderbox Nice!

  • Great song. Thank you Neil and Nicolette. The world lost Nicolette much too soon.

  • This song is like beautiful old memories. Kodak film. timeless stuff. Like opening a photo album with real photographs. That kind of stuff. Leaves turning orange in Connecticut .

  • @roquefortfiles You're wonderful

  • sweet song that I'll wanna take to heaven.

  • She's HOT!

  • YEARS AGO I SAW HER OPEN FOR RICKY NELSON AT THE PALOMINO CLUB, A FEW MONTHS BEFORE RICKY WENT DOWN IN THAT PLANE CRASH. I ALWAYS LIKED NICOLETTES BREEZY KIND OF STYLE WHEN SHE SANG. I WAS SO SAD WHEN SHE PASSED ON AS WELL.

  • What it means the word "lotta"????

  • @AnddyVRivoltta just a quick way of saying "A lot of"

  • @AnddyVRivoltta lotta simply meaNS "ALOT"

  • stupenda canzone!!! Ho fatto una fatica a trovarla....

  • Best song ever!

  • she is beautifull:}

  • Great song!Pop rock at its best.

  • Great song!

  • 9 people suck and dont like woman singers with a Lotta Hair. I wish I had hair like that on my bald head. Anyway, Very cool classic tune.

  • OMG her hair was absolutely so long and gorgeous!

  • this is continued from last post and that flute and that sax player was really great in this song!and that bass player and violin was totally awesome! i sure would like to see more 1970's music videos! this song is one of my favorite! i will never get tired of hearing. it and the more i play it on turntable the more i want to listen to it! nicolette larson is a fantastic recording artist and the members of her band or group.

  • wow! nicolette larson is really great and awesome and a fantastic song! the way the music was done was excellent and her doing lead vocals! do es anyone know what she is doing now?is she still doing music? i heard she went to country music a few years ago.where have all the hits gone! these days no one is not playing the good stuff anymore!

  • @hairyhothornylover1: Nicolette passed away a few years ago. Such a shame. She could really sing.

  • @devernie1

    1997.She was 45

  • This is my favourite Bee Gees album...since i bought it 10 years ago now...

This song always sends me a few shiver down my spine ... It's surely in their top 10 songs of their history surely ... and in the top 3 of the songs of this album (with "Trafalgar" and "the greatest man in the world")

This is real soul music... not as 90 % of the "so-called" soul music who surround us today who lacks a lil' humble attitude...

People should know that the best albums are not always the most known...

  • For those who are together and for those who aren't the way the world is going, it's going to take a lot of love for us just to get through this mess we are in. LadyProwler100

  • She made a CD for putting babies to sleep. Worked great! She was always so awesome, and the Rhumba Girl video was one of the first on TV. OK, how many times can I say "awesome"? Got through the teen years with her, Linda, and Karla.

  • Was Nicolette Larson, Neil Young's girlfriend?

  • @mierpaul yes she was, once upon a few decades ago............ that is, until she figured out that Neil was'nt all that and a box of cookies, like he thought he was...........

  • MY NUMBER 1 SONG OF ALL TIME!

  • childhood memories

  • I just love this song and I equally love Nicolette. She had so much energy and happiness when she sang her songs. She was definitely a pop legend who left this earth far too early. Rest In Peace Nicolette and know your music is still loved today.

  • This is one of the top classics of all times. My kids sing this when it comes on the radio. We love it and love you Niki. You belong to future generations.

  • This tune reminds me of my teen years. It got tons of air play in it's day.

  • @label1877 *its day

  • She had the looks and the voice of an angel. The way she moved and the way she sounded would have made her a huge success.

  • Yep, fantastic arrangement - everything is simply right in this song :)

  • That song just screams the 70's......farout!

  • @ramlinman2004 Farout is right!!! I love this song!!

  • This was another angel of God expressing her talents through music while she was here with us.

  • Awesome song from decades ago. Thats when music was real, not like the garbage of today.

  • @hsharrott So true... The seventies were the golden age of music

    amen!

  • Great song. Fantastic voice, and Nicolette was taken from us way too young.

  • 9 people do not have enough love.

  • Bela música , aliás bela obra !

    Rarities Web Rádio

  • A beautiful woman with a beautiful voice-she left us way too soon !!!!!

  • THIS SONG IS "THA BOMB"!!!!.......THA WAY SHE SINGS IT......and THE WAY THE SAXAPHONE and the FLUTE KISS IT.....IN JUST THE RIGHT SPOTTSSS!!!

  • Beautiful song.. thanks for the memory,

  • capitalism is love (joke of the last couple of centuries lol)

  • @COMMUNISTPHILOSOPHY And I assume you're here enjoying capitalism, instead of living in Venezuela? Get a job, ya troll!

  • @FullMetalTrucker your user name is proof of just how thick you really are you fat uneducated loser

  • @COMMUNISTPHILOSOPHY Since you're such a philosopher, tell me how thinking out your ass is working for you.

Like I said... get a job, and move out of your mom's basement.

  • @COMMUNISTPHILOSOPHY Screw you Commie loser.

  • song # ? on the soundtrack to my childhood.....sigh....

  • I forogt how beautiful Nicolette was back then. She's got the whole Carly Simon Carole King kind of vibe to her. I've always loved thins song and the sax solo during the intro and bridge. It's up there with Baker Street by Gerry Rafferty as having one of all time great uses of a sax during a song

  • BEAYTIFUL WOMAN WITH THE VOICE OF AN ANGEL! RIP

  • Beautiful song. Sounds like Eagles could have done the back up on this one for some reason.

  • Kissed my 1st love listening to Nicolette, we all miss you.....

  • anyone wanna dance???

  • @clavin2007

    so sweet :)

  • LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this song so much and it's a sad shame that she died a few years ago!!!!!!!!!!

  • This song is prefect, no matter what your musical taste is. You can't say this song sucks, This is from someone who grew up listening to alot of Heavy Metal.

  • jeez I always loved this song!!!!

  • Nicolette,MY LOVE!!!.......I WILL ALWAYZ LOVE YOU 4 THIS ONE!!! YOU TOOK NEIL YOUNG'S SONG and BREATHED LOVE INTO IT!!!! LOVE ALWAYZ,BABYGIRRL!!

  • In the winter of 1978 I worked as the sole parking lot attendant in a booth at an outside lot in Arlington, Virginia. I had to arrive every morning by 5:30 am and it was always dark and bitterly cold with the wind whipping. My only comfort was an fm radio. I would listen to WPGC-FM and they played "Lotta Love" it seems like every 30 minutes. Listening to Nicolette sing this song always got me through those cold mornings. Her voice literally warmed me up. I shed a few tears when I heard she died.

  • @lmbullock522

  • @lmbullock522 I AGREE GREAT STORY!

  • My generation,nice song,beautiful woman,loved her hair.

    Great memories.

  • It's gonna take alotta love to change this world?!!!

  • Great stress reliever.

  • Has anyone (or everyone) noticed the similarity of this song to "One of These Nights" by the Eagles? (if this has been referenced before I apologize..I didn't go through the 750+ comments).

  • @YeahRightInc Wrong, this song was written by Neil Young, if anything they copied him. Neil is considered one of the greatest singer/songwriters in the history of rock. If you research this song Nicolette was the backup singer for Neil and she picked a blank tape off the floor of his car and played it in his tapedeck and he said if you like it its yours. The rest is history.

  • Having been a back up singer for Neil Young, she made this song of his an incredible version for all time!

  • BEAUTIFUL, need my Nicolette fix.

  • i wish i could hear this by neal young though(the one who wrote it)

  • 16 eyer and so talented...take that bieber

  • One of my fave classics...

    I love Nicolette..

This song will always have a place in my heart...

    God bless you and Elsie......

    You are my insperation... xx

  • australia will always love you nicolette - timeless free seventies .

  • who are the 9 morons who dislike this song

  • I recall the first time I heard this song and I liked it alot, but I couldnt put a face to it since I dint know who she was.. then one sat morning on American Bandstand I heard Dick Clark introduce her as she was singing this song and I was thinking Im finally gonna see the girl that sings this song, and OH MY GOD ! was I surprised at the beautifull angel that was singing this song with her long hair and pretty face .

  • Nicolette you are truly missed. RIP

  • This version hit the airwaves in the seventies. Neil's version never did..he had bigger hits..

  • I have loved this song for many years! Wow, still sounds great. There is just nothing like this soft rock from the 70s anymore. I really miss this music. She was awesome. RIP Nicolette. Thank you for your gift of song.

  • dsta123: you are right !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • When did she pass away? Such a loss.

  • When did she pass away?

  • @owlgulch I think it was in 1997 i believe it was liver failure.. I know very sad...

  • Now that's a song right there. She's a natural. The whole band sounds great.

  • Great song written by Neil Young and sung brilliantly by Nicolette.

  • What an awesome voice! I love this song - this is coming from a diehard metalhead haha

  • R.I.P. Nicolette...you were amazing...

  • @singlejeff69<<<how could Yvonne Elliman be dead??? ....she's just 60 years old for God's sake.....

  • She is in the same as Karen Carpenter,,Yvonne Elliman,,,these 3 unbelievable beautifull women will never be replaced,,and are all gone from us now.I live for the day I get to meet all 3 of them again. Lord it's hard to type this. But Nicolette's voice and long hair,,would make any guy with class proud to be her husband. I wish i could have been with her in 77.78,79 when she was at her prime. I would have rocked her world any and every nite,,as no other guy ever could have dreamed of. Love her.

  • She was great wasn't she?! She was also great on Neil Young's "You and Me" too!

  • Hello to everyone who has great taste in music.

  • this is my favorite song of all time.she did it so well.

  • nicolette was a great singer.can u imagine had been married 2 such a beautiful women?wow

  • 9 people are tone deaf......great lyrics, great beat.....great hair!!

  • She´s fantastic, free like the wind, sane, hippie, and very sensual. I adore her !

  • Nicolette hit #8 in Billboard, 2-17-79. She died from a cerebral edema, in '96. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! RIP, Nicolette!

  • @DaveWollenberg OMG..... You just gave me a very sad news! I didn't know she was dead.......

Another good one left us here in this world! What a legacy on this song..... I want to thank God for allowing me to enjoy of Nicolette voice..... I am so sad right now, I think will cry......

    Peace

  • loved this song since i was like 12 lol and im 2 7 now!! please bring back good music 2011!!!

  • Every time I hear this it makes me sad she never lived so long. She was a freak, that song she did Last in love written by JD Souther was my favorite. I still love all the stuff on this album, she had the most amazing mentor in Neil Young. Still better then 98% of the crap you hear on the wireless today.

  • Proberly one of the best numbers to ever be released..

    She was fantastic.

So sad her life was cut so short..

  • The bass riff before the first verse is SWEET!.

  • RIP Nicolette. I miss your beautiful voice.

  • This song sure puts me back in time..love it
