..."its all building facade but in yours you can just go in....nope you cant n theres nothing to do in this open world game, combats balls theys no malee weapons, heavy explosive weapons or sniper rifles, hand to hand is very limited just block n wait to punch..its no where near as good as the're making out here gameplay n open world wise, but that story is great the musics fun and the atmosphere of the whole game is cool...just wish there was shit to do and less pointles stuff like lightswitchs

I cant even lie!! I realy like this game so far! Yea maybe its not as good as it could have been becuz of no side missions & sum other stuff...(Im sorry but i wouldnt say this game is as good as GTA4, becuz rockstar is the king of open world sand box games, i mean just look at Red dead redemption..AMAZING GAME)...But so far im realy enjoying the game... Maybe its because im a huge fan of the Mafia & anything to do with the mob.. But anyway the game is realy good so far...I'de give it a even 8!!

hmmmmm. I think denby grace is lying cuz on the back of my mafia 1 game it says the city is 12 sq miles and he says that mafia 2 is twice the size and apparantly its 10 sq miles

For those of you looking to spend some time playing a game, try playing Red Dead Redemption it's got great graphics awesome storyline, intense gameplay, and just like this game it is a open world game so you can do whatever you want whenever, it takes back in the old western times though so rocket lauchers or machine guns, lol

@101andrewj M2 and RDR really aren't comparable. RDR was an open-world game where the feeling of living on the West was emulated through the free-roaming gameplay style and the player's ability to take side missions and be good/evil.

Mafia 2 on the other hand is a different beast. By not being able to 'free-roam', the story is allowed to gain momentum as intended (and to great effect). While you do make 'moral choices'; you're still Mafiosi so 'Black and White' morality can not begin to apply.

@JimmyColls in mafia 2.. it will be a free roam set up, you wont be able to pick good or bad paths, or roam such a large map, but its still free roam... and i still think mafia 2 will be good, but the RDR game engine is near perfect.. and mafia 2 game engine is good, but it cant compair with rdrs... rockstar spent like 4 years working on that game... probably more then 2 years more then 2k on mafia 2.... for example, in mafia 2 demo, when u shoot some1 in there leg or arm, they dont act hurt

@101andrewj You misunderstand me. What I meant about there being no 'black and white' good/evil path is that as a member of the Mafia you can't be the good guy as much as a lighter shade of grey. I still don't believe that the game is truly 'free-roaming' (not a bad thing). While you're allowed to drive around a large map you're still pushed along by time limits to the next checkpoint - this is done so that you can't just 'roam' for hours and thus destroy the tension built by the story's pacing.

@101andrewj And enemies do react when shot in certain bodyparts, maybe not as much as they do in RDR, but as you see above they still recoil realistically when shot in different regions of their bodies.

@JimmyColls yeah, but you shoot cop in his leg twice, and after he is hit, he still behaves like he is not shot, until u put a 3rd bullet in him, and he falls... but in RDR a person would get hit in the arm, and switch arms, or hit in the stumach, he would hold his belly, and hit in the leg, would limp or crawl.... again, i still think this game will be great, but i dont think it will be as good or crisp as red dead redemption

you can interact with things in the enviroment such as in your safe house you can use a wardrobe to change clothes you can buy new clothes

you can open fridges and take beer out o.O

@franciscot1 This is not an open world game, you don't drive around looking for missions, quite the opposite. Typically, the mission will start and you watch a cutscene, then you're given the 10sq mile city to drive around in and are pushed along to complete the mission. When you've finished you don't just start driving around aimlessly, the story forces you to start the next mission.

I promise you, it's a far better game this way.
