It is such a blessing to hear male choruses singing. This rendition is absolutely pitch perfect, and the occasional piano intervention, is just a gentle reminder to them of where they are musically. It is truly peaceful, yet magnificent. Thanks be to God.
Gentle Shepherd, Come and lead us For we need you To help us find our way Gentle Shepherd Come and heal us For we need Your strength from day to day There's no other We can turn to Who can help us Face another day Gentle Shepherd Come and lead us For we need you To help us find our way
With this song inspiring my coming back to the Lord, my pastor gave me an old gaither guitar book with Gentle Sheperd. This song hits me so, I deal with feelings of hopelessness, failure, guilt, fear, shame and even at times, suicidal thoughts. Ive had one attempt, for which I feel so guilty. Now, knowing my Lord, I know I will never attempt again. I want to meet Him someday and will NOT if I take my own life!
I had fallen and came home. Dad put an mp3 player in my hand to listen to while we cleaned the church. One morning I was walking through the sanctuary, lit only by sunlight through stained glass windows. Gloria began praying. Shivers went up my spine. Two arms embraced me. I looked up, seeing a banner reading "Those Who Walk With God Always Reach Their Destination". I gave my life to Him that morning. I can literally say this song saved my life! Praise God!
Janet married an airline pilot in 1999. She is also a cancer surviver from 2005. She has traveled with Bill Gaither since the early 1990's. There are several others not from GVB there like Joy Gardner, Charlotte Richie and all the EHSS, etc...
@dlwoods7 I have this DVD set at home. They included some of their dearest homecoming friends to join them in the reunion. I think Janet use to sing backup for them, not sure though. I know Sandy Patti did. I love the DVD set because it includes some emotional interviews, especially with Michael English.
