If you can find a JImmy Sierra Eliminator coil ...get it...it works fine around electric lines and it gives greater depth that you would expect from a 6 inch coil...you can also get great performance around fences and playground equipment...I have seen these sold on ebay from 25.00 to 300.00...I remember seeing them sold in the USA for 159.00...this is a great coil for the xlt.

Found out the problem was that the field next to me had a electric fence that was causing interference. Detector is fine :)

1. Turn unit ON
2. With power ON, remove battery pack
3. Wait 60 seconds
4. Reinstall batteries
The above does a "hard reset" and "synchs up" XLT.
If that doesn't help try a different coil. It may of gone bad. You might be just picking up EMI interference. Try a new area.
