However, the more I analyzed points, the more I saw that some of it can made sense afterall. I think you've never heard of the phrase 'Technological Unemployment'. Millions of people are already losing their jobs due to businesses using robots for production instead of human labour because of the decreased cost and increased productivity.
Machines are even beginning to replace jobs in the service sector too (ATM machines
replacing cashiers, automated voice messages replacing call centre workers).
So it's hardly illogical, considering the current state and the potential for improvement in technology and science, that one day all jobs can't be automated.
I mean if it were to happen it obviously wouldn't be an instantenous change, there'd have to be some kind of transitional phase between the monetary system and a proposed resource based economy.

I'd like to say that the poster knows what he is talking about and maybe he does. If that is the case then he is deliberately mis characterizing the the entire idea of automation and it's effect on society. I have been in the transportation industry for years and have seen a warehousing operation go from having 20 people working on the loading dock to just one guy in a white coat doing little more than watch the automated loading system.

I wont blame you because I too initially rejected the solution. From our perspective having lived all our lives in this system the solution is extremely counter-intuitive. However, the more I analyzed points, the more I saw that some of it can made sense afterall. At this point I think no money might still require a point system, but can no longer reject the idea without further analysis.
I suggest for people not to reject the idea, put it on ice, turn it around, get other views, think about it

No arguments. First of all, to begin, you're making it sound ridiculous, taking it from it's sole purpose. The purpose is, with cyclical consumption, meaning you constantly buying, causes a never ending cycle, hence cyclical consumption. It is a linear system and you cannot run a linear system on a finite planet indefinitely. This Venus Project, is not a change to happen over night. PJ himself says there is a minimum requirement of at least 50 years.

I mean if it were to happen it obviously wouldn't be an instantenous change, there'd have to be some kind of transitional phase between the monetary system and a proposed resource based economy.
If there ever was such a phase, which would have the end result of creating an abundance for everyone, I'm pretty sure that people would be willing to contribute to society by doing all the jobs that couldn't yet be done by machines or robots to reach that goal, I know I would anyway.

It has nothing to do with God although I do believe in him. The political side of Zeitgeist is mostly true and even some of the religious side and that is how they catch and manipulate you is by mixing the truth in with the lies. The film does not say Robots will do it all, just simply that if we harness technology, and focus it appropriately, they will reduce our labour in repetitive jobs. I know, I agree. When I first saw the Venus Project, I saw the ridiculousness of it and thought no intelligent people would go for it, just the usual suckers. But one of the smartest people I know has fallen for it. I've shot so many holes in it, it is nothing but a smoldering wreck, but no good. He still advocates it, constantly uses circular logic to defend it.
Anyway, keep up the good work Mark, don't agree with your religious views, but I think the rest of your work is great.
