What's sad is that she possibly didn't know that it was Dracula's son she was fighting, and no one outright told her to do that (Shaft or Death may have ordered her to fight any intruders, but didn't specify). @herounlimited13 It's different in the PSP dub. She says "You really are the son of lord Dracula..." more like a confirmation of previous knowledge through recent events (Alucard's display of "strength and beauty") rather than figuring things out in that moment, like in this version.

I think it makes more sense that the servants of Castlevania would at least be able to recognize the son of their master, especially since he lived there once.
