  • It is absolutely hilarious how they are not trying to be funny at all.

  • Oh crap! My brain is melting!!!!

  • "the atheists see that more and more people are starting to be atheists, so they get on the band wagon." How can the people that have been atheists the longest, jump on the band wagon...that makes no sense.

  • No, Bill, you don't have a theory. You have an untested idea. To have a theory you need some amount of evidence acheived through experiment. Some actual theories are the theory of gravity, the wave theory of light, and, oh yeah, the theory of evolution.

  • The fact that the atheists put up signs that depicted graphic scenes of murdering a Baby Jesus and burning down Christmas trees is reprehensible. What? They didn't? They just put up signs asking for people to think for themselves and be good for the sake of human well being? Well.......shutup......

  • @AlienDominators still didn't stop Hitler getting his financial support from Eugenio Maria Giuseppe Giovanni Pacelli who reigned as POPE Pius XII from 1939-1958! Oh what a funny coincidence. the same year he became pope is the same year WW2 began!Yeah its just a coincidence nothing else! Christianity is all good and holy, the church never aided Hitler!

  • I couldn't get through it. My head almost exploded from the stupid.

  • atheists aren't attacking christians, if christians can have adds that say believe in pour god than why cant atheists have adds that say believe in no god

  • 'He's just a baby'

  • Wow there's some brain power around that desk.

  • This is news?!

  • To be honest, I treat the the Christian trappings of Christmas (the food, the carols), the same way I treat the pagan ones (the date, the tree, the present)...

  • Bill, I am Agnostic and I LOVE THE HOLIDAY, you know why? Because its FUN! and I get to see all of my family together, I love presents, I love unity, I love the tree, I am not jeloaus of YOUR holiday, Christmas is a holiday, that a a lot of Atheists and agnositcs celebrate, BECAUSE ITS FUN!

  • I think Christians celebrate in December because they were jealous of the Pagans.

  • @willydadog You think wrong.

  • fox news is stupid. I feel sorry for those who watch it.

  • What the fuck is wrong with these people...

  • I think most people like the Jesus, it's just the Christians people don't like, because they are nothing like Jesus.

  • fact december 25 has nothing to do with christianity. I'm an atheist and i like chritsmas for the modern cultural aspect not the falatious jesus story.

  • for all the atheist here i would just like to say DERP

  • @eripmave wow man, you totally got me there :/

I have no one to pray to get an answer for that.

  • I "liked" this video, because I love seeing ignorant, arrogant dumbbells like these three. Great job making yourselves look like the typical Christian. Atheism is on the rise. It's okay to show your fear. You can try to hide it behind insults & lies, but we know you're afraid. Hey Bill, I can explain how the sun rises to you if you want. The answer may surprise you. Hint: It's not magic.

  • Why do you americans let him have a tv show?

  • I'm gonna venture out to say that maybe...just MAYBE...it wasn't fucking Easter time when they wanted to put the ad out.

  • LOL in july? against Alah? bro, people dont do alah adds.

  • @Peytongwinz Yeah, not where you live, because Islam has no influence.

In places where Islam is actually relevant, the anti-religious sentiment is directed towards Islam.

You're ethnocentric and unaware of the world outside of your home and viewpoint.

  • This is a true representation of propaganda: one sided "news" or information meant to mislead the viewer. If Fox was "fair and balanced", they would have someone to defend the atheists, hoewever they fail to do this.

  • Hahahaha, Idiots! Christmas orgrinates from Pagen beliefs! are your kidding me? Adam and Eve orgrinates from Norse mythology!. Your idiots dont even understand your own religion?!

  • @AvenueEmpire Christmas is the celebration of Jesus' birth. It has nothing to do with pagan beliefs. The story of Adam and Eve was recorded by people who knew nothing of Norse mythology.

    Get a clue.

  • @nnjhansen it is related with some pagan beliefs, mainly the Saturnalia, a festivity from 17-Dec to 23-Dec, with feasts and gift giving. Christmas may seem a coincidence, but the bible doesn't state when jesus was born, but it was born before december, since the shepards were outside. Another thing, jews, at least around Jesus' time, didn't celebrate birthdays, nor the first christians. In fact, jesus only asked for his death to be celebrated.

  • @danix30001 The Gospels are silent on the timing of Jesus birth but the reasons the early Church (late 3d, early 4th century) decided to celebrate His birth in late Dec in the west and early Jan in the east had nothing to do with pagan festivals. The reason for those dates had to do with the concept of the 'integral age' of prophets which held prophets were conceived (or born) on the day they died. The respective Churches calculated the date of the Crucifixion to be 25 Mar and 6 Apr

  • @nnjhansen the story of Adam and Eve was deployed to convert scandinavians into christianity. If you know anything about Norse mythology the world ends with two humans left under Thor's tree. Christains deployed the Adam and Eve story to make scandinavians believe the Bible. Christmas is Pagan. No question about it. Danix30001 explained it well. But he left out the fact that it was also to celebrate the winter solstice "the birth of the sun" because the days would be longer. not a "son".

  • @AvenueEmpire The story of Adam and Eve long predates Christianity. It comes from the Book of Genesis, the Old Testament.

The theory that "Christmas is Pagan" has been largely discredited by scholars (beginning with Duchesne, then Talley, Roll, McGowan, etc..). It fails to account for the two dates on which Christmas was celebrated in the early Church (25 Dec in west, 6 Jan in east) and there is no contemporaneous evidence to support it.

  • @nnjhansen Christmas presents, Christmas carols, Chrismas tree, all Pagan. Can you explain to me why you bring a tree into your house, and give presents? Because Its the birth of Jesus? that still doesnt explain why you do these things that Romans were doing and that Catholics banned because of it being Pagan in the middle ages. Study both sides my friend, one side of the arguement is going to make you look like an idiot. study other claims and you'll find they answer more questions.

  • @AvenueEmpire The tree was not associated with Christmas until well after the Reformation. The giving and receiving of presents, the singing of songs were part and parcel of many different celebrations, including birthday celebrations. They were not exclusive to pagan solstice celebrations.

Catholics never banned Christmas celebrations, certain Protestant sects did because of their Catholic roots.

You really should read actual scholars on the subject, not internet tripe.

  • @nnjhansen And yes, I know where the story of Adam and Eve comes from, I acually have read the bible.

  • @nnjhansen Your an ignorant sheep. Go study mythology then you will understand.

  • @AvenueEmpire I'm sure I will. Now you go back to your room and let the big people talk, ok?

  • @nnjhansen Are you calling yourself fat?

  • Baby Jesus would be 2012 years old this year Bill. No one hates 2000 year old people. They hate morons like you who have chosen not to think. You do not need God to be good [it is part of a Christmas song btw Willie], you do not need God to have a good time and enjoy friends and family and, way before Christmas was Christmas it was a Pagan holiday...just let other people enjoy the winter solstice Bill....you can goo goo over baby Jesus all you want...pinhead.

  • christmas comes from the romans... -.- morons...

  • I hate stupid amaricans and their stupid.. things!

  • No body is jealous bill, and theyre trying to apeal to people whomight be unsure about religeon.

  • jealous? really? *sigh*

  • Guess what? We don't want "tradtional values." Those include slavery and women are beneath men. It's pretty ironic that a woman is pushing for traditional values.

  • Why is it .....that 95% of youtube is atheist.

98% of top comments are atheist in related videos.

  • @Thejadjadjad Because you're looking at videos that are pro-atheism?

  • @SleepingAtTheMovies on the contrary. i watch videos that are about either debates or just christian anchors saying something stupid or bigot politicians. and all top comments are atheist

  • Lol seriously.. Christmas = Presents

  • They HAVE to have paid that guy to laugh at 2:45

  • Dear Fox,

I am sorry that you guys are idiots. However, I do believe in helping the less fortunate. The atheist don't run their Christmas ads in January, probably because Christmas is in December.

    Love Mom

  • Bill O'Reilly is such a dumb cunt!

  • O'Reilly, you pathetic asshole...

  • that o'reilly makes the two blondes look like fucking geniuses!

  • Any atheists invited to the table?

  • This shows how much Oreilly doesn't know

  • Christmas isn't christian. I don't see flying reindeer and Santa in the bible.

    Saturnalia..

  • You're damn right I want presents for christmas! That doesn't mean I have to believe in god.

  • bill thinks the tides move in and out because of god. good grief get a hold of yourself.

  • Jealous? LOL no they just hate it. Im not an atheist and i hate it. Just wish the atheist would realize they are wasting their time. Now i gotta deal with two annoying things instead of one.

  • Bill O'Reilly is right -- Athiests are usually misfits and losers.

  • @ColumbiaPerna In the top 5 of my class at Med School, finished Law school before starting this one. Worked for 3 years at a technical institute. Donated $1062 in the past 5 years, not to any particular NPO or NGO, but to people that actually needed it and renovation for my brother's room.

Yeah, I'm a loser and a misfit. Fuck your logic.

  • @TheKainMan who gives a shit about your imaginary degrees? An MD and a Lawyer would not even have the mindset to reply to my comment or participate in this silliness. You're a dreamer -- fuck your fake degrees -- imaginary world.

  • @ColumbiaPerna Awwwww, did I strike a sensitive chord there? What exactly qualifies as the proper mindset to reply to your comment, then? Someone dumber than you are?

And I think the only one living in an imaginary world is you. I'm not the one wasting my life preparing for something that doesn't exist.

  • Bill o Reilly is a beast. Why don't atheist and other liberal people just leave Christians alone and attack evil people like....MUSLIMS or even better other atheist and liberals

  • Bill O'Reilly never ceases to amaze me with how incredibly stupid he is

  • Jesus was born in april, christmas was changed to coincide with the winter solstice.

  • @TheMacropolis No one knows when Jesus was born. The reasons the early Church settled on 25 Dec in the west and 6 Jan in the east had nothing to do with the solstice.

  • Bill O'Reilly is a racist.

  • why do they think everything is an attack against Christianity and america

  • Happy holidays bill, you scientifically illiterate, philosophically incapable, historically inept, ignorant monkey buffoon in a suit. :)

  • Happy Winter Solstice!

  • Aye right, 'Free Will'. You're a genius, well done.

  • No, you are. Go on....

  • @neilb229 How about we allow each person decide how much to spend and consume? The whole "Free Will" idea and all.

  • Most Atheists i know respect the 'spirit' of xmas much more than the sheep that follow religion, capitalism, etc. Seems to me their messiah is really the almighty Dollar. Funny how these things go hand in hand so often. 'And on the 8th day the lord said, "go to the mall and spend you fuckers!"'

  • @neilb229 Can you explain how being generous and giving gifts to loved ones is somehow antithetical to the spirit of Christmas?

  • @nnjhansen Eh no. Family, generosity of spirit, is at the very heart of what should be celebrated at this time of year. But the horrendous spending and conspicuous consumption excused by false religious doctrine encompasses everything that's wrong with the people this news story is aimed at. And btw, from my point of view, goes against the most important teachings that their bible espouses. Ok? Merry Christmas!

  • @neilb229 You are the arbiter of what constitutes 'horrendous spending and conspicuous consumption'?

  • gretchin has a very punchable face

  • Christmas is rather unpleasant to many folks, Christians and atheist alike. It is either about "buy, buy, buy" or it is about a mythological fairy tale that ends in human sacrifice. In so many ways, it nauseates. I for one do not need an over hyped shopping season to feel joy, love, peace and pleasure. I dislike Christmas because it tends to interrupt the joy I would feel without it.

  • Good to know that both sides of the argument were explored - between atheists hating tradition and atheists hating the baby jesus. I think that covers all the points, what's up next...?

  • Even bill's coworkers think he is crazy...

  • Religious wack jobs

  • Did u see what he said about jon stewarts war on christmas?

  • Does anybody watch this? Why would anyone be on his show? Do what he does, and ignore him. Let him jump up and down with his domination techniques, anger and ignorance, just pet him on the head like you do with children. I would be ashamed if such a man was a high profile in media in my country. But that would never happen. We would laugh and pet him on the head. Poor guy, so ignorant.

  • you know you said something stupid when even fox new anchors laugh at you

  • why are they saying that Christmas is a AMERICAN, CULTURE....thing

cmon...you say people in Sweden and all over the world every year is celebrating an AMERICAN tradition?...fuck out her

  • @donatshabani yeah, thats bullshit. Not one thing about christmas is from american culture. And not one little single thing from christianity is from america or their culture. The only reason that they even are christians, is that the europeans brought it over. If not, they would all be named "screwing with horses" and worship the "sun god".

  • He's right, I'd go for a Bill Maher Special instead of Christmas any day.

Hmm, agreeing with Bill O'Reilly, that's a new experience for me!

  • "He's just a baby!"... Don't christians believe he dies at 33?!?!?!?! Damn. Hypocrites. Jealousy?! Wow.

  • "THEY DON'T LIKE THE BABY JESUS"

    BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • this makes me sad

  • athiests have the same days off. fuck you bill grow a soul

  • Comment removed

  • I don't know why anyone cares either way.

  • lets not ask the people running the campaign, instead why not just spout off our own theories on why they hate the baby jesus. top notch journalism.

  • Sensationalism at its best.

  • Uh... no because I celebrate Christmas, too. Maybe Christians are just jealous of pagans and that's why they had to steal the Winter Solstice from them?

  • @akashibito Christmas is not a celebration of the solstice but of the birth of Jesus. Christians did not 'steal' anything.

  • @nnjhansen You might want to do a little reading so you don't post ignorant comments anymore. Google the history of Christmas.

  • @akashibito LOL... You may want to read actual scholars on the subject rather than crap that pops up first in a Google search. There is an article by Andrew McGowan, President of Trinity College at the University of Melbourne available online that is a good place to start.

  • @nnjhansen If you want to believe apologist crap instead of reality then go ahead. Don't expect anyone else to buy into it, though.

  • @akashibito If the date for Christmas was 'stolen' from the pagans to co-opt solstice celebrations, how do you explain the fact that half of the early Church celebrated Christmas on 6 Jan? What contemporaneous evidence do you have to support your claim?

  • @nnjhansen I'm sorry dude, but you're too ignorant to have a conversation with. Not even going to bother with you if you don't even accept the fact that Christmas has pagan origins.

  • @akashibito Don't even try with him. He's all over the place 24/7 with the same tired and discredited arguments, and he's already been exposed as a fraud.

  • just other day in the life of a atheist dont worry about us christains on christmas worry about your self.dont matter thou jesus will come and for non-belivers it be too late too repent or ask for forgivness

  • God Hate's Christmas !

  • How many here have an idea of WHY christmas is celebrated around winter solstice? If you read the bible it is clear that Jesus was born in spring...

  • Atheist bus ads make baby jesus cry.

  • They don't get it. The Christmas season is the time of the year when all Americans are flooded with Christmas/Christian imagery. Can't we just view these bus signs as reminders that those who are in the religious minority are not totally isolated? To remind Christians that not everyone is a Christian? And since the solstice celebration from which Christmas is derived can be secularized, anyone can celebrate this season in their own way if they choose.

  • @BraidedLily Christmas is not derived from a solstice celebration, it is a celebration of Jesus' birth.

No one is forced to celebrate Christmas and there is no reason to secularize it so that it loses its meaning so that a few can feel better about their lack of faith.

  • what...we don't loathe the baby Jesus... And we're not jealous. It's not like we're physically unable to celebrate Christmas.. we can celebrate whatever the Hell we want. Most athiests celebrate theist holidays. From what I can tell, the adverts aren't bringing down the holiday. They are designed to say that even if you're an athieist or agnostic or whatever, you can still celebrate theist holidays with your family and have a merry Christmas... without holding specific religious beliefs.

  • Bill ... Bill .. listen fella, no matter how fast you try to blurt stuff out like a sever form of verbal diarrhea, you will Never look smart.

Be happy with your two digit IQ ... (in case you didn't understand .. you can read once more from the top).

  • Why would anyone watch FOX in the first place... Theyre cast lowers the IQ of the whole nation.

  • watching claymated christmas specials and believing they are true is the same as with the bible. lol

  • Yeah... it's jealousy. O'Reilly might actually be mentally handicapped...

  • cant we all get along its the time of year to be happy. after all santa claus created all of us equal.

  • those 2 chickens look wet over billy

  • Hahahaha what a jerk ! :D Anata no baka-tare !!!!!

  • how dare you hate baby hitler! lol

  • Christmas has little to do with Christianity, it`s just a highjacking of the Winter Solstice and Scandinavian mythology

So technically you can still celebrate the holiday as is without all the Jesus and God nonsense. I for one still do, as I see it as a representation of my Germanic heritage

  • @LadyAmaltheaUnicorn Christians were celebrating Jesus' birth in late Dec and early Jan before the Germanic and Scandinavian people were converted. The origin of Christmas has nothing to do with the solstice or any Germanic or Scandinavian festival.

  • @nnjhansen

your right, I totally remember that part in the Bible where Jesus and the apostles are decorating their homes with trees and wreaths, while exchanging materialistic gifts and singing songs about Santa...

Oh yeah, and how much sense it makes for shepherds to be herding their flocks in the winter...

Yeah, that's because Xians hijacked Scandinavian traditions involving Thor, Roman Mithraism and the celebration of the Solstice in late December; in other words, it's a pagan holiday

  • @LadyAmaltheaUnicorn The part you are missing is trees and wreaths were not associated with Christmas until after the Reformation and have nothing to do with its origin.

Roman Mithraism (as it was Roman) had nothing to do with Scandinavian festivals.

The reasons the early Church dated Jesus' birth to late Dec and early Jan had nothing to do with the solstice but with the Jewish concept of the integral age of prophets.

In other words, not a pagan holiday.

  • @nnjhansen

Mithraists celebrated the Sun God Mitra on December 25th (known as the Winter Solstice), as well as the Roman Saturnalia, which celebrated Saturn on the same day. When the Emperor Constantine Christianized Rome he basically highjacked the pagan traditions to make the citizens happy, but replaced them with celebrating Christian myths.

Xian trees originate from Thor's Oak, pagan German. Other Xian related things like wreaths, yule logs, and Xian ham are all pagan traditions

  • @LadyAmaltheaUnicorn Christians celebrated Jesus' birth on 25 Dec (and 6 Jan) prior to Constantine's reign. Prior solstice celebrations are irrelevant since Christmas is not a celebration of the solstice.

Again, trees were not associated with Christmas until after the Reformation.

  • @nnjhansen

No they didn't. The early Christian minority did not partake in any festivities during the Solstice nor did they celebrate the birth of Jesus. The reason Christians did partake in such rituals is, like I mentioned, due to the mixing of old pagan traditions that were hijacked by the Christian State

Actual Christians who know about their Bible and history have even acknowledged this, it's only the materialistic modern ones who want their cake and eat it too who must lie about this

  • @LadyAmaltheaUnicorn You are simply factually wrong. Christians began celebrating Jesus' birth decades before Constantine's conversion.

There is no contemporaneous evidence to support the theory that the dates on which His birth was celebrated were selected to correspond with or co-opt a pagan festival.

That theory has been discredited by modern scholars (see Duchesne, Talley, Roll, McGowan)

  • @nnjhansen

find me a source, and no, not a Christian source but an unbiased one

As someone who majored in religion and minored in history I know you're full of shit, but I'm willing to see what you got

  • @LadyAmaltheaUnicorn I gave you sources. That you would discount them because they are Christians shows you are the one who is full full of it.

  • @nnjhansen

Thank you for admitting you use pseudo-intellects for your go to on facts, that's all I needed to know

If something is evidently true it would be widely available outside of biases unreliable sources

  • @LadyAmaltheaUnicorn LOL... You judge the quality of scholarship by the religion of the scholars and accuse others of being pseudo-intellects. That is rich.

Your theory has been widely discredited. Deal with it.

  • @nnjhansen

no, it's not about what a persons believes but where they received their information from. Francis Collins, for one, is a brilliant scientists and also a Christian that I would trust regarding scientific contributions because his work is peer reviewed, thus proven as valid.

Your pseudo-intellects, however, are twisted fundamentalists who are lying to make a buck off of weak minded fools who can't be bothered to open a real book to look at the evidence

    Facts are facts, not wants

  • @LadyAmaltheaUnicorn You clearly do not have a clue. The four scholars I mentioned are all well regarded in the field and Duchesne and Talley's works considered preeminent in this area. Calling any of these people fundamentalists simply shows the depths of your ignorance.

  • @nnjhansen

Where are their peer reviewed publications or outside sources that would confirm their analysis to be true?

If you can only use Christian references than that should tell you its bogus

  • lol no matter how atheist this country gets, Christmas will still be the biggest holiday . I JUST OWNED ALL ATHEIST!!

  • Jean Paul Sarte was wrong. Hell isn't other people, Hell is bigoted idiot charlatans like Bill O'Reilly. Just try tolerating THAT for eternity.

  • Christmas has nothing to do with Christianity, its a Western holiday..A lot of Pagans Holidays before Christianity was on Dec 25

  • @lover3344

exactly. The Roman Christians just highjacked Scandinavian mythology and traditions. No where in the Bible do you see any dates for Jesus`s birth, nor any of the other traditions associated with the holiday, like decorated trees and lights, that`s because it`s all pagan

  • So the atheists put up one chain of bus ads and its wrong, but its ok for religion to get shoved down our throats everywhere we go. Now wheres the sense in that?

  • So they basically admit that plenty of people who aren't christian obviously celebrate during the season, yet they move on to say atheists are jealous because they have nothing to do? I guess they don't realize atheists use the time of year to see their families also. I am the lone atheist in my family as far as I know, I still visit my family on christmas. I am not jealous, it means nothing to me spiritually but I always capitalize on the chance to see my family.

  • I'm an atheist and christmas is my favorite time of the year. I love the feeling that runs through all of December, the anticipation and the happyness of the people. The thing is, I don't see that God has any part of that feeling - because christmas is so seculariced now a day. I know a lot of muslims and jews who celebrate christmas, because it has grown bigger than christianity. So no Bill we are not jealous, but maybe u should be, if u need the baby jesus to experience a wonderful christmas.

  • @blablomma you are celebrating a Christian holiday,, OWNED!!

  • @JhosefL I would rather argue that it has in some way moved above religion and is now tied more closely to culture I would say. It is based on christianity but there are elements of it that does not fit soely with it being christian, ex crhistmas tree based on a pre-christian tradition in Germany. I celebrate midsummer (big thing here in Sweden) but I don't celebrate it because its hednic roots, but because its part of my culture.

  • @blablomma that's your opinion but in reality it's still a Christian holiday

  • Christian ads must be deliberate smears against nonbelievers. Christians run

their ads because they are jealous of nonbelievers. Why is it good that Christians

spread their propaganda but others can't? These people are bigoted hateful

    people.

  • @mentalphysicalism Yeah but Christians don target one religion LIKE SOMEBODY!!

  • @JhosefL You're right Christians hate everyone.

  • I'm an atheist and I get presents. We do almost everything except for the praying and church-going. We even watch Xmas movies.

  • Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess Jesus is lord. So go ahead and waste money on your silly posters and try to convince each other there is no God. It is written on your heart that God is real so you can pretend like He isn't all you want but there will be no excuses on judgement day.

  • Just the fact that these idiots get mad about these issues, means somebody is doing something right!

  • Does Bill Reilly REALLY think atheists are jealous of the holiday (as if we don't celebrate christmas as a family-gathering, gift-giving holiday like everybody else). Honestly, even O'Reilly isn't that stupid, I think he's just doing his usual "say the most extreme/stupid thing possible to get attention and ratings" gig. He's admitted his show is an act, so I suspect this is the same.

To christians/jews/pagans - atheists can celebrate a holiday without believing in the god/gods that you do.

  • Praying for all of ya daily. Believe or don't,,,ask God to open you eyes and watch what happens. God is love so that means love is GoD if u have love Gods involved. He won't quit on us even when His people curse Him and turn away. I see the unbeliever waiting for a miracle,, keep waiting,, or go get it. If living for yourself then your doing what the devil wants you to do. Best trick Satan has played is making people think he don't exist. Praying for ya blessed2bless

  • yeah cause atheists cant celebrate x-mass so were jealous lol. its the most secular holiday ever. why would atheist have any problem with american traditions? i think fundies like oreily are just pissed at how secular the holiday has become, its all about santa not about jesus, and they hate that.

  • us atheists LOVE being shouted at by preachers in the street in every city in the world, we're just returning the favor.....kinda

  • Atheists didn't hi-jack Christmas, it was actually the other way around. The Winter Solstice (celebrated on Dec. 25 during ancient times) was celebrated since neolithic times as the rebirth of the sun god becase after that day each day would subsequently increase in length. Christ's birth was usually celebrated in May until the 4th century when church father's changed the date to the winter solistice to appease recently converted pagans who wanted to continue celebrating the winter solstice.

  • @Michiganfan105 Jesus' birth was not uniformly celebrated on any date (or celebrated at all) until late in the 3rd century. The reasons that the early Church settled on 25 Dec (in the west) and 6 Jan (in the east) had nothing to do with the solstice or appeasing converts.

  • @nnjhansen it had everything to do with celebrating the winter solistice. I learned that at a Christian school as a matter of fact. Look it up. Just about every group of pagans celebrated the solstice as their major holiday. It makes sense since Christianity took bits and pieces from many different pagan faiths. You are allowed to be ignorant of facts all you want but that does not make you right.
