Love those cars, had one 3 years ago and think I'l but another one soon. I had similar mods as you but with a mines ECU and the boost running at 18psi with the stanard turbo, it made 175bhp on the dyno and loads of low down rev grunt. It pulled strong in 5th gear from 30mph right up to 150mph no joke! I could keep up with fast bikes. Buy an ECU and let the boost creep do its thing.
@TheVtieg6 its all power to weight ratio's with these cars tho dude, check the bhp per ton table :) quick shock, one of these 1.3 turbo'd cars is about equal to a N/A 3.0 litre car :) one of these running about 200-250 is seriosly quick :)
Powr to weight ratio is about acceleration but top speed is about power and aerodynamics. I know all about these starlets my mate was runnibg 175bhp on ct9 1 bar of boost. It used to pull hard from low down but top end wasnt soo good. My mate later replaced his ct9 with a ct12 hybrid which gave a much better top end with 204bhp. Ive been in that car loads of times and ive got load of vids in my channel to prove it
@TheVtieg6 204 is a nice figure, man i would love a ct12 or a td04 set up for mine! :) i have found that with mine tbh mate low end they are really quick then start to lag off a bit at the top end, am gonna start working on it after xmas, not sure wether to go hybrid or td04, i need reliability too as its my daily :)
Well it depends on how much you abuse it. Td04 would give you more power but more lag. Anything upto 220-230 on td04 should be on standard internals if not abused too much. We used to abuse the hybrid all the time and never went wrong
The car had already been running for about 30 minutes so yes warmed up! Yeah, Didn't give it much as there's not much point on Public roads plus when you fully de-cat and do a filter relocation with standard turbo, with or without ported wastegate, you get boost creep which isn't ideal.
Not had that car on the rollers although a figure of about 150bhp should be expected on about the same boost. Although an FCD and running about 0.85 should see about a 10hp gain.
