  • or you can actually buy something that looks like a animal in the water not a old sock

  • MrFishermen98,

How about this: If you don't like the idea, move on and leave the negativity to yourself. We're just trying to help people catch fish here. Nothing else. Make some videos, enlighten us if you want but keep the trash talk out of it please!

  • It went from a Senko to a ...

    Fluke

    Octopus

    Frog

  • I bet that technique will work great when the senko is worn and all beat up on the head end. Just flip it around on the hook and "pimp it out". Thanks for posting the tip.

  • Cool Tip...thanks for posting it....

  • worked great on Potomac river...blues gills gave me a fit on lake anna though..hahah...thanks for the tip...another weapon in the boat now

  • Thanks for the tips

  • I want to do the same thing

  • Snack Daddy Lures makes a bait "Split tail Snack Stix" basically pre-cut Senkos. They work awesome!

  • now u just need to make it hollow ank make a senko tube

  • noby said you had to use GARY YAMAMOTO senkos either, if you wanna be cheap just buy strike kings and cut em up if you wanna save a buck or two

  • so in theory...its a senko tube?

  • NYCE. BULLSEYE.

  • o yea the reason i cut the top part of the skirt is because the old light green one was always getting tangled in the buzzer, or whatever u wanna call it..now i have no problems and it works better and actually gives it some more action to the water...

  • im always messin with my bait to make it better...i had a cheap buzzbait that was light green, and i sanded it down and painted it black, gave it red eyes and put a brown skirt on it, cut the top part of the skirt without a 1/4 in of the band holding hte skirt so the only long part is the bottom of the skirt, and now i went from no fish on it two times fishign, to 3 bass with in 45min to an hour...

  • More pimped out 1:08

  • Idk guys i was having a slow day on the lake w/ my buds and I decided to give this a shot.....I cut 4 tails and Texas rigged it....next thing I know I'm catching a shit ton of bass while everybody else wasn't...thanks for the tip man!

  • im gona have to try that

  • man it work man thaks

  • so u have a longer tube jig?

  • on my jigs I use a 4" chigger craw ( Berkeley PB) for my trailer and cut about a inch off the butt, still have the big pinchers but not hang in so far off my hook that I miss the bite.

  • obviously this would work... look how many different type of baits are out there and they all catch fish. But tearing up expensive senko's just to make it look like a long tube or super fluke is a bit retarded. Go buy a pack of big tubes and you got your first design, then a pack of tournament series flukes and you got the second... You prob catch more on them when you F with them because they want tubes or flukes more than senko's at the moment.

  • Thanks JD good tip you gave, I'd rather catch more fish than whine about hacking up senkos. My feeling is if you are a serious bass fisherman then you certainly aren't going to cry about the cost of a senko. I bought 3 packs of Senkos and 3 packs of hooks & 10 breakaways and spent over $30. Cutting the ass end up to increase my catch for the day is definitely something worth doing.

  • this shit works GREAT! just tried it the other day!

    Thanks!

  • Never heard a fishermen say "pimped out"

  • I was with a kid yesterday and i was fishing a june bug yum dinger while he fished a green pumpkin yum dinger. He cut his in half. Yes in half with a pair of scissor. I got the first catch of the day a one pound bass. But then by the end of the day he had five bass all well over a pound and i had only one. It was very interesting how he just cut it and kept nailing them left and right. We were fishing the same spot too!

  • I use big bite worms and they work just as good as senkos.

  • You lost me at "pimped out"

  • I think this is a great tip, gonna have to try it next time i go out, I have dozens of senkos so it won't hurt to cut a few up, hope it works, but I don't have much doubt that it will, a little different action can go a long ways, thanx for the tip

  • A fourth technique for 'tricking out your senkos'

Cut the senko in half, at the middle. Throw one half in the water and put the other half in your tacklebox. Fish with a bare hook.

Just as effective as techniques 1-3.

  • thanks for the tip!

  • dude thats awesome fuck the people that hate that seems like a good idea some people are to cheap to cut up a 15 cent worm

  • I've been doin stuff like this for awhile. Good to see that someone has figured it out. Its also a good way to prolong the life of the bait. The end thats all torn up from strikes (the hook end), cut it up, and put the hook on the other end. Its torn up anyway, so whats to lose?

  • maybe ill try it on a cheaper dinger first haha, then maybe ill upgrade to a senko lol, but man, it took sum huevos to cut up a senko on youtube, kudos

  • A "PImped Out" Senko, Awesome, I'll give it a try next time they get lockjaw on me. Thanks man!

  • i don't know wat yall are talking about i think its a good idea thanks fishwithjd it really does help and im not being sarcastic!

  • I'm gonna try it on my dingers then if it works good I'll put it on my senkos. Thanks for the tip man!

  • cool I will have to give it a try...something differant is all it takes sometimes

  • hey is that final style to what you have good for working it like reeling cranks

  • SWEET THX MAN!!!

  • so basicly end result a yum boogie tail

  • Great tip! The best thing is that its soo easy to do. Thanks man this video helped me alot!

  • Hey that sounds pretty kool! Ill have to try that out.

  • wow people are strange oh my god someone has hacked up a senko call the police . I mean what if ole gary yamamoto would have not put his exspensive worms out on the market because someone said oh my god it has no tail and its so dense hed be hating life knowing all the money he would have lost this guy is just being different and exploring new avenues and what works for him i mean hell i put a zoom super fluke hooked weedles and nose hook a regular small fluke on the same hook towards the back

  • I think its a great idea actually. Senko's at Gander Mountain in the big value pack are only 10 bucks and there is like a 1/2 pound to a pound in there rofl so you can afford that shit.

  • looks like a dildo

  • You people that are all pissed are rediculous!.. Why are you so damn angry??? He had a tuff day fishing and tried something new and it worked.. then he was kind enough to share that idea whit us all.. so relax you dumbasses!... If you dont like the idea then dont do it!..

  • smart ideal

  • Everybody...chill! All I'm doing here is giving you an idea to try that's worked well for me. If you don't want to try it or can't afford to cut up one bait, fine but please just keep the negative comments to yourselves...you look like absolute morons when you talk trash here. Pretty brave too, I might add when you hide behind a screen name.

  • @fishwithjd Agreed. Looks like you're using scissors very similar to those that I tie flies with--made by Griffin I think. I hack on all kinds of rubber when I fish with a baitcaster or a spinning reel including swim baits. In my opinion modifying your baits, flies etc are the way to get bit especially when fishing highly pressured waters. Thanks for your idea--I'll have to start chopping on Senkos now in a similar manner and give it a whirl.

  • @fishwithjd Thanks bud great idea !

  • @fishwithjd i'm with you man!

  • no, im not gonna give it a shot

  • Ima give this a try someday.

  • sweet! ive been waiting for a channel like this

  • why is everybody bashing this? damn its one liitle tip, buy YUM dingers for $4 and try it on them and see if it works. If it does try it with the $8 yamamoto senkos. Whats ONE dinger/senko? Theyre ruined after catching 2-3 nice sized ones anyway, so if youre having a slow day, sacrifice one lure and try it out. I think its a good tip man, thanks! Sounds good.

  • I've noticed that fish seem to like a senko that's a bit chewed up, presumably because it gets all floppy and has more flutter.

  • i understand at what you all are saying about cutting up the senko's...but as crazy as this sounds it does work i know a few guys thats been doing this for years and with it cut like that it really don't mess up the way it falls, and besides it's just one senko hell most the time you hook a good bass it slings the soft plastic off the hook anyways...

  • tried it at local pond and it doubled my catch or maybe i was just lucky :)

  • Used it today on the Potomac and landed 3 2lb plus smallies in an hour before the water snake scared us off.........need a better pair of scissors for my box. Thanx!

  • Why not just texas rig a green onion?

  • Wow u mutilated that bloke

  • nice tip! thanks a ton! 5 stars! and subbed

  • the senko is good enough without doing that though

  • i bet that'd work great with worms for shakeyheading too.

  • its basically a really skinny tube

  • Yum Dingers are the ticket. Same as the senkos action but for MUCH LESS$

  • no it,s always good to alter ur baits when they dont work thats funny u say shit to a dude thats caught more bass then u people ever seen .... THIS WORKS 100%...

  • Nice tip, I always tweak my lures if I’m not catching any fish. I think I get that from fly tying. How a little red dot on a fly could be the result of a good day of fishing, if you catch my drift.

  • Hey dude in my opinion this is a very good tip good job. lol

  • This guys an idiot!

  • The only thing your going to do by cutting up your senko is waste your money. If you want a worm with some action to it then just get a worm with a tail, and i promise you that a professionally made worm with a tail on it will give you better results than hacking up your senkos. The reason a senko catches so many fishing is because the way it falls horizontally, by hacking up your senko you are sure to ruin the action of your senko.

  • Yep, I really, really love destroying my Senko's...just for fun. But I'm totally cool with you not trying it. More fish for me!

  • @fishwithjd He's mad cuz u gave away his secret ;) haha

  • @fishwithjd just use a tube bait u dumb shit

  • @silentdreemz85 I sort of agree with you (for the most part). In my circle of fishing buddies, I am known for getting creative and "destroying" a perfectly good bait. It doesn't always work, but sometimes it does. For example, tube baits do not work on my family's pond, but a tube bait with the head cut off is deadly.

The reason I agree is because the Yamamoto worms I buy are like $7-$10 per bag, and they are amazing. I'd say buy some tailed Mr. Twisters, dont cut up good senkos.

  • @SROD12321 What kind of tubes do you buy that come with heads?

  • How do I explain this? head = not the tail??? Haha, I assumed everyone would know the head of a tube is the part that is opposite the tentacled part. I just cut or bite the head off, which means less air is in the tube, which means it's less dense, so it sinks without the need for a weight or jighead. I call it the Silver Lake critter and if you move it fast it attracts some wicked strikes.

  • @SROD12321 Or you can just buy the correct weight size, and once again avoid hacking up a perfectly good bait. And learn how to fish the bait that you purchase. There is no such thing as a secret lure. EVERYTHING works, you just have to learn how to fish it.

  • @silentdreemz85 uhhh...the whole point is that it is weightless and when t-rigged, also weedless. You can swim it, allow it to slowly sink, and my favorite is to run it atop muck. It will drop down slightly, but can then be pulled through algae slicks, leading to intense strikes. We won a tournament using this technique that was featured on OLN. Oh, and did I mention it catches more fish?

  • @silentdreemz85 Also, I dont know about "secret lures" since I tell people when I find something that works well. But the idea that "everything works" is silly, since everything obviously doesn't work the same.

Take Gotchas. In Fl, I've caught every fish in the surf with them. In NJ, their profile is too small for big stripers.

So no, everything does not work everywhere, and just b/c you alter a lure does not mean you are destroying it. But I do leave senkos alone b/c of the cost.

  • @SROD12321 Were not talking about stripers. Everything does work. you just got figure out what color, speed, presentation, depth, water clarity, structure, cover, tempature, (just to name a few) to use the correct lure at. OBV. your not just gonna throw anything one at any time of day and expect it to work. But every lure will work in the correct scenerio. I guess its about personal preference. im catching 35+ bass on any given fishing day so my techniques are working for me.

  • @silentdreemz85 dude calm down

  • @silentdreemz85 Sencos fall great and there are very few stick baits that have tentacles on the end.

  • @silentdreemz85 dude sut up i bet you haveent even treied it i treid it and it worked great i got way more for my money dude never mind im not gonna waste my valueable time on you idiots

  • Why not just buy a pack of Zoom super flukes? Lol

  • Because the Senkos are much more dense and sink better when you're running them without weight.

  • @AllenIsbell hahaha cuz thats a totally different lure altogether

  • a giant tube

  • KVD's twin

  • i like to texas rig my 5 inch ones

  • this guy looks like kevin van dam

  • I may have to try that.

  • He just wasted a perfectly good senko...

  • if your going to do that just use a big tube -.-

  • I swear by the senko ...... cutting one is just such a waist you should just have the rite tackle

  • sweet!

  • senko are 7$ a bag try tiki worms same stuff..

  • You can also cut about 1/2 an inch off the front and make the worm look a little fatter. Sometimes when I'm not getting the hits I want, I will shorten the worm and crawl it on the bottom like a crayfish. Can't tell you how many larger bass I have caught doing this little trick.

  • an easier wy would to buy tubes that are already like thatt. personally i would not do that to my senko unless i had no tubes.

  • I am no pro, only started fishing for real last year....and I caught a sturgeon, endangered in Ontario, using a crazy crawler fake bait.

We tried live minnow, leeches and worms worm work best personally

Im in the city and we can catch muskies, pike/walleye. catfish, bluegill, bass (rock, small and largemouth) just 15 minutes from where I live.

We just bought a baitcaster and going to try today, great for shorefishing like we do cuz it goes FARRR with just lure weighing down

    ooo cant wait!

  • Gotta learn by experience. Like a bike, once you learn, you never forget!

  • i cant fish bass its to hard

  • same never caught one in my life =[ only blue gills -_-

  • lol

  • u should try carp fishing its the best only need corn and a float when u pull in a 8kg carp you will have a smile on ur face

  • ya but when carp arent hungrey or when they mating they will be a pain in the ass to catch but ya very fun put up a great fight also

  • they are beauties in the scale dept.

pinkish silver, really cute fish actually lol, but i wouldnt eat one!

my friend caught one that was almost 3 feet long, a beauty

  • this is like a homemade tube. but les expenseve. do u rig it texas or wacky?

  • try weightless

  • he looks like kevin van dam.

  • Yea he does!!

  • oh yeah, it works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    5 stars

  • I haven't caught any on the yum dinger the last four trips out, I'm gonna try some of that! I did, however, catch an 8 1/2lb bass on my first cast today with a carolina rigged 9-inch zoom magnum lizard, watermelonseed, over an offshore hump. I am still pumped beyond belief, she's goin' on my wall along with my 6lb spot!

  • hey can u really get ur fish stuffed how much does it cost and where would i go to get it stuffed

  • getting fish stuffed is a pretty cool thing to do but there is now a better way so you don't have to kill it. just take all the measurements and a couple photos and then get a replica made. I'd do it this way unless I forgot my camera.

  • good tips i mit go out today so i will try that out if they wont hit it so thx an good vid

  • I've never tried the senkos i've always just used powerbait. I wanna try them soon.

  • Me too. Never had a senko. The powerbait 7 and 10 inch worms are kick a**. Berkeley got that sent dead-on! And sometimes if the bass are just too lazy, these worms will get the bluegill moving around chasing it, and that will wake those bass up!

  • have you ever tried roboworms??they work great O.o

  • Great tip JD!

  • Killrfish=moron Ive been doing this for a while and at times it adds bites and at times it dont.. it gives the fish something different and that can be the difference between 0 fish and a great day... and you are a TOTAL moron if you are paying a buck 50 per senko lmao what a dumb ass.. keep it up JD thanks for the vid..

  • slug-go better

  • Zero added results, eh? Don;t spend much time bass fishing do ya?

  • If I'm having a hard time catching them with a senko, I just tie on a tube bait...or if the bites REALLY tough, a bass teaser tube bait....

  • @fishwithjd it's kinda the same as a tube but longer and its a senko of course..what presentation do you usually run it with?

  • Yeah ,I think I'll hack up a 1.50 bait and get zero added results............NOT.What are you smokin man,you must get your senko's for free, thats the only feasible explanation to such a retarded suggestion.I'll tell you what save yourself all that B.S. and buy some 6" IKAs.Problem solved dummy.

  • Thats a huge Senko. I've heard that 3 inchers catch the most bass. Not sure though, just bought some the other day and haven't used them yet.

  • Looks like a big ass tube-bait.

  • pretty cool idea!

  • wow!!! sweet thanks

  • WOOOOOT CAPS FOR LIFE!!!

    lol jk.

    haha

  • "get a little more pimped out here" haha nice video! thanks for the info.

  • does anybody in the uk have these? were did u get em? if theyre unopened i will buy them of you.

    Thanks

  • order from bass pro shops . com theyr pretty cheap.

  • Thanks for that JD! I'll try it to day.....

  • didn't catch HUGE bass but this shit works

!!!! thanks a bunch..... you know your stuff!!!

  • hey i just went fishing yesterday and caught an 11 inch 1 pound bass by tricking out my senko!!!!!! thanx!!!!

  • good idea never would have thought of that....

  • LOL!!! Geniuos!!! Guy tries to be a dick and makes himself look pretty stupid. Congrats geniuos!!!

  • Here's a little tip: when you're sarcastically calling someone a genius, do your very best to spell the word correctly.

  • HAHAHAHAH holy crap ihatepickles, you make me laugh!

  • sweet nice ideas

  • y wouldnt u just use a bleeding tube? or would this work better

  • iono but from experience the senko's seem to work a lot better

  • pretty cool man thanks..

  • or u could just by a fluke cause they already have the split tail and i freaking rip the bass on them

  • almost like a tube.. thanks tho.. im gonna try it...

  • Cool. I will def try this... The senko is my go-to bait for sure. Another thing I've been experimenting with is senko colors...Take a pearl senko, store it in the same small tackle compartment with some red and or green ones and the colors from the dark will penetrate into the lighter one!! I've tried all sorts of color combos! Anything new right!!! Z

  • no shit retart...it doesnt take a geniuos to figure out that when u put 2 rubber worms next to each other in a small hot tackle box..they melt and absorb the others colors...dumbass

  • Ah yes, youtube's finest. Most people would find deep irony that you're insulting someone's intelligence with pieced together 3rd grade spelling. However, I happen to know 3rd grade was the last grade you completed, so I'm just here to say "good job".

  • ah yes, youtubes's nerdiest mother fuckers..most people would care about what u say..but no1 gives a fuck..and ur mom peiced together one hell of a fagget. however, i happen to know ur a fuck up wit no friends n a bullshit life...so im just here to say "go fuck urself cocksucker!"

  • Again, you're spelling is horrible. How could you possible hope to gain an audience when no one can piece together what language you're even trying to use? I'm sure 3rd grade has served you well in the warehouse job you'll retire from in 30 years.

Your best insult is calling me gay? Really? That's it? Nothing wittier? Nothing beyond a schoolyard slight?

See, the thing is I could prove I'm not gay, it'd be easy. You however, wouldn't have a hope of convincing people you're not stupid.

  • yea cause fucking 3rd graders know how to do all this shit on youtube and type words like that..u dumb fucking asshole..and guess what..i dnt give a fuk how a spel my dam words...i can do whatever the fuck i want so fuck off...if u wanna be all proper n neerdy ass bullshit while trying to talk trash on some1..just stop cuz ur ruining urself like the peice of trash u r...and i didnt call u gay, i called u a cocksucker, fagget, nerd, worthless...and whats ur insult..calling me uniteligant.real good!

  • Well, when you say you don't care if you're a moron, I truly believe you. It's obvious you can't do anything about it, you're just a drooling slackjawed cletus.

But really the question is, if you're this dumb, why make it so obvious? Why not just spend a more time with your sister/wife and think of good names for your 15th child? Where I'm from, the retards have the decency to hide in shame.

  • I am going to try it today. The 4in work best in the lake I fish. I will cut up some 5in. Maybe it will make them more appealing. I will post again if I have good results.

  • They always work . I started that craz in utah.

  • man i tryed it and icoughtlike a 13 pound cat fish a 10 pound bass it realy works trynoodling

  • Well what he really means is when the Senko is a tough bite try the idea, not go out and buy a pack of Senkos and start cuting into them... That can some times be a waste of money.

  • you look a lot like kvd

  • lol, even a little more pimped out

  • Are you throwing that Wacky Style or Texas rigged?

  • You can actually do both...

  • that looks pretty interesting. i might give it a try some time!

  • "Pimped out" haha I love the language bro,

  • The tentacles do help at times! Give it a try...

  • Thanks for the info. I recently got into bass fishing (I live in Florida) infact we are going tonight. I am not good at it and no one in my family fishes my BF and I bought shakespeare rod/reels for salt and freshwater. our lures dont have those tentacles do they truly make a difference? If so will go buy those rubber types and cut them like you did.

  • What he means is if the Senko is a tough bite try the idea, not go out and but a pack of Senkos and go cuting into them... Sometimes that can be a waste of money.
