but they Add some modifications and beliefs in the game
the ghosts are called "Jinn" some ppl think Ghosts are ppls' souls but thats incorrect
they are creatures like us but they are invisible, that's all
the story is about ppl got deceived by Ghosts and they thought doing Sacrifice every week is the only way To survive and to keep themselves safe or to keep that mansion safe, then they started doing that while Ghosts Exploited that wrong Belief ..
WAIT A SEC!? if it was a good ending then y in the ff3 Mio is still tortured by the deaths of her sister Mayu... soo.. this ending doesn't really mean a thing.. =__=.. lol
Xbox has three endings. I've seen them all :P The bad one is when Mio kills Mayu, the second is this, and the third one is when Mio looks down the hell gate and gets blind.
@1992GamerGirl i saw another ending where mio runs away leaving mayu behind and some guy tells her not to look behind her,but she does and this woman goes up to her and laughs,so is there not 4? i'm sure you can find it on here somewhere,cause i'm sure someone has all the endings and the one i described was one of them :o

@crazymetallian The canon ending is the one where Mio kills Mayu, just like the canon ending for 1 is when Mafuyo stays at the mansion and Miku loses her psychic abilities. The purpose of the happy ending is just to give the player something else to play with.
The happy ending (only for Xbox) was probably just created for the players that they buy this game for Xbox extra, it was released after that for PS2, and if you wanted the happy ending, you need to buy the Xbox version...

that would sound weird, but there's a Tsukiko in fatal frame, but in the story line. She's the one that sings Chou from fatal frame 2 and Koe from fatal frame 3. Her complete name is Tsukiko Amano. I think they confused her or dunno >_>
I was reading the Wikipedia page for this game and it continuosly talks about a character named Tsukiko who was also in the first Fatal Frame, and so I looked here to double check to see if she actually existed. I don't think she does; did someone add their fanmade character to wikipedia? There are tons of typos that suggest someone just put Tsukiko in where it was needed. Could someone who has actually played the game check and see for a Tsukiko? I don't remember seeing any Tsukiko.
well dont kill me but i personalyybelivetaht the xbox version is better, cause once you complete the game you can buy items you need so if you hace enought points nightmare mode will be nothin hahaha...zero an 90 film all game hahaha thought Kusabi is a pieece of work!!! xDDD...
I love this videogame!!!1 but saddly i haven't been able to get his ending =(
This game is special as it is and its 'sad' endings are somewhat unexpected and therefore unique. Though I believe everyone has a right to voice their thoughts, you could've done so without looking like a total jackass. Many other people love this game and appreciate the creators' efforts, and here you are yapping away like you're God. If you're so good, then make your own game and quit whining, jerk.
This is just a game, destille32 and amarula12, get over it. People created this game to let others have fun and get their shit scared out of. So what if it's not art? Do the gamers care? No, they don't. They just want a solution to the problem and they got it, however unsatisfactory the solution may be.
Back to the topic: The bad endings aren't "bittersweet", they are sick. Just because it is frustrating it isn't art. The Fatal Frame series lacks of everything real art has to offer: Most dialogues are cliché-ridden, it doesn't deal with the existential problem or has a message. It has no deeper meaning or a phylosophical undertone beside this "all the good ones have to suffer"-stuff wich is even more a chliché than the featured "ritual in a remote village"-setting.

Sure, it has a lot of good ideas but they don't get anywhere. The characters don't struggle with inner demons - therefore they don't develope. They are from the beginning to the end the same. There is no change beacause there is no inner struggle. They just fight for simple, biological survival. There aren't any symbolical actions, no higer meanings, not even a little bit of social criticism.

It's just a pulpy ghost-story with "X-files" meets "Blair Witch Project" feeling and therfore not more than entertainment. And a disturbing sequence in the very end doesn't make it more bearable for the grown-ups.

The only way to interpret Fatal Frame 2 phylosophical is to say it is a reincarnation-story, Mio and Mayu ARE Yae and Sae and have to come back to the remote ritual-village to get lost parts of their souls back like this Aless-Cheryl-thing in Silent Hill 1. Or (what seems to be more logical) Mio and Mayu died *before* the game starts and have to get rid of their karmic entanglements in a purgatorial world before they can incarnate again.
The characters so, in fact, struggle with inner turmoil. What do you think Mayu's leg is broken for? And why the heck do you think the creators included the distinct difference in opinion in Sae and Yae's Butterfly Diary?
By the way: I glimpsed at your favorites. You got eight. Four of them are: kitten talks, sweet tired cat, super cute kitten and nora the piano playing cat. I have never heard of "Hello Kitty's Island Adventure" but it seems that you got lost on this isle.
The bittersweet finale is why I always loved the FF games. I find it to be an excellent plot device w/ survival horror games when it ends and you survive... but there is always a cost. "It's a cash and carry world... you pay as you go... sometimes it's a little... sometimes it's all you have... either way... you pay as you go" - Not my quote but a goody
Uuu.. this is a videogame. Nothing of it ever happend, not even in a parallel-universe.. So there is no reason, no *fucking* reason for this "oh, life is like this, all the good ones have do die a cruel death"-shit. I play games for entertainment and not for watch frustrating, sadistic crap. If I want to be depressed, I watch the news. They should do what people demand. If I play a game for 20-30 hours I don't want to see, how my character suffers a horrible fate.
Pearls of wisdom: "Not even in a parallel universe"..."They should do what people demand"..."isn't canonical they should change the canon".
That's what I love about these games... they find you in your safe, warm, comfortable place and they pull you... kicking in screaming into the cold, damp, darkness. Keep playing "Hello Kitty's Island Adventure" then destille... some of have developed a taste for something... darker. You don't like it? Don't play it. But don't criticize others for it.
sorry about this but what is fatal frame about? all i know is that you have to take pics of gosts to kill them but can you tell me the plot or whats going on? it would realy help! (^.^)
Well this one is my fave fatal frame: in this one, twin sisters get trapped in a village that relives the day that the village vanished. The general idea is to get out, but you have to find the other sister alot (Mayu) who often becomes possesed with the memory of Sae and relives her actions ( more information while playing game)
I don't really want to say more :D but it's a great game and worth having :)
i think... Yae's soul was inside Mio's.. and then when they arrived at the place where Sae was thrown, the soul of Yae came out from the body of Mio and joined with Yae... this is only my theory..LOL this is the best ending for fatal frame 2..^.^
Of course this ending doesn't make me as sad as the bad ending did, but I have to agree with TimeforPanic - it really doesn't make sense when it comes to the first Fatal Frame ^^
But, anyway, Fatal Frame 3 uses the bad endings as basis, although there are diffrent endings in Fatal Frame 1+2
So Munakata took care of her when he too came back to the village in search of Itsuki and them.How does she come back in here as a good spirit, trying to calm Sae's crazy soul. XD

There was two main theroies. One was that Yae's soul split in two (kinda like the first ghost did in the first fatal frame) so part of her was still at the village entrance. Another theory was that was in was fragmanted memories that came together.
Of course its happier but in the first Fatal Frame If I remember correctly, Yae married Munakata and commited suicide in the Himuro Mansion,I dont know, this is confusing but Yae didnt even remember her past when she found her way back to the village.
Yeah but many people believe that her soul split in two. One part that went to the mansion and the part that waited at the entrance of the villiage. Others believe that it was just fragmanted peices of memory that formed together.

By the way: I glimpsed at your favorites. You got eight. Four of them are: kitten talks, sweet tired cat, super cute kitten and nora the piano playing cat. I have never heard of "Hello Kitty's Island Adventure" but it seems that you got lost on this isle.

The bittersweet finale is why I always loved the FF games. I find it to be an excellent plot device w/ survival horror games when it ends and you survive... but there is always a cost. Uuu.. this is a videogame. Nothing of it ever happend, not even in a parallel-universe.. So there is no reason, no *fucking* reason for this "oh, life is like this, all the good ones have do die a cruel death"-shit. I play games for entertainment and not for watch frustrating, sadistic crap. If I want to be depressed, I watch the news. They should do what people demand. If I play a game for 20-30 hours I don't want to see, how my character suffers a horrible fate.

That's what I love about these games... they find you in your safe, warm, comfortable place and they pull you... kicking in screaming into the cold, damp, darkness. Keep playing "Hello Kitty's Island Adventure" then destille... some of have developed a taste for something... darker. You don't like it? Don't play it. But don't criticize others for it.

sorry about this but what is fatal frame about? all i know is that you have to take pics of gosts to kill them but can you tell me the plot or whats going on? it would realy help! (^.^)

Well this one is my fave fatal frame: in this one, twin sisters get trapped in a village that relives the day that the village vanished. The general idea is to get out, but you have to find the other sister alot (Mayu) who often becomes possesed with the memory of Sae and relives her actions ( more information while playing game)
I don't really want to say more :D but it's a great game and worth having :)

i think... Yae's soul was inside Mio's.. and then when they arrived at the place where Sae was thrown, the soul of Yae came out from the body of Mio and joined with Yae... this is only my theory..LOL this is the best ending for fatal frame 2..^.^

Of course this ending doesn't make me as sad as the bad ending did, but I have to agree with TimeforPanic - it really doesn't make sense when it comes to the first Fatal Frame ^^
But, anyway, Fatal Frame 3 uses the bad endings as basis, although there are diffrent endings in Fatal Frame 1+2

There was two main theroies. One was that Yae's soul split in two (kinda like the first ghost did in the first fatal frame) so part of her was still at the village entrance. Another theory was that was in was fragmanted memories that came together.

This ending doesnt make much sense actually,
Of course its happier but in the first Fatal Frame If I remember correctly, Yae married Munakata and commited suicide in the Himuro Mansion,I dont know, this is confusing but Yae didnt even remember her past when she found her way back to the village.

Yeah but many people believe that her soul split in two. One part that went to the mansion and the part that waited at the entrance of the villiage. Others believe that it was just fragmanted peices of memory that formed together.

I liked the original ending.And besides....that one is the canon one so oh well kiddies.I love Mayu to but she's dead.And you need to get over it and buy a wii and wait til december for Fatal Frame 4
