And blood an chrome? I know, everyone wants space battles, but a show that is just space battles? What could they do that would even be half as awesome as Exodus part 2? And that took a lot of story build up.

The only thing I liked about Caprica was Bear Mccreary's music...that's the only thing that related me to the good old bsg feeling. Also, when BSG (2004) begins, the Galactica is 50 years old... that means it is built 8 years after the beginning of Caprica (the show).
I think the best move that SyFy could do is jump the show 8 years forward for season 2 and make it centered around Husker. Now THAT would be crazy wouldn't it?

The daughter has the motive, and the avatar has the same emotions and opinions. Zoe found acceptance in the church and was brain washed by it, her avatar cannot find acceptance anywhere, and is left feeling betrayed by mankind.
The only thing that ever cared for her was herself, who she believed killed herself. Completely lost and trapped in the body of a military killer,constantly fighting against a father she hates.sure there aren't explosions, but the story is incredible

But caprica just sucks... I got goosebumbs when that mother said here daughter was a terrorist. (not positive goosebumbs) damn that scene sucked..... But I have too say the music is great! @TheLiquidBlaze I'm sorry that you think it sucks so much. It is going to be really hard to top BSG, but I think it is an interesting story. I like the idea that it is a young child, because it gives the idea that the cylons started at a young age, and it gives them space to quite literally "mature".
Actually they were from Kobol, the original humans created Cylons, which turned human and needed Resurrection to survive, eventually they managed to figure out how to breed naturally, and they got rid of it, than they created their own robots, and they didn't want to start the cycle over, so they brought resurrection back, but it only saved 5 of them in time (the final 5 from BSG) and those 5 gave resurrection the Cylons in the colonies and thus the cycle played out one last time
Its a shame that this show keeps getting lower and lower ratings, hope syfy won't act like fox and cancel a great show, also great musics again, bear mccreary is a genious

Well I or 1 haven't been disappointed. I can't wait to see how much of the History, before battlestar Galactica, that they cover, or even if there is another spin-off focused purely on the frst Cylon war.

My good friend and I are pretty much on opposite sides on Caprica. She can symphatize with the Greystones, I can with the Adamas. Guess which one of us belongs to the upper class of society and which one the lower-middle?
Although it is about philosophy,not ''class differences''(witch in our society almost don't exist.The only difference is amount of money each ''class'' has).Greystone selfishly thinks that he can create new life that resembles his daughter and than that he cans make this new life live as he want it to,only to fulfill his selfish needs.
... and this is actually interesting because it involves the creation of the cylons and their motivations. The drama you could find practically anywhere else.
In BSG they (the human ones) are completely new individuals, execpt for the final five who are sort of reincarnations. They don't explain exactly what the mechanical ones are.
This explains how the Cylons obtained their monotheist beliefs, too. It's got drama, but more character - driven drama than gadget - or - space - battle - driven drama.
It is a prequel to BSG. It happens before the humans/cylon war. It is a drama centered around the family losses after a terrorist attack in two families: The Greystones and The Adamas.
this music ensnares and captivates the listener. to imagine the events 58 years before the cylon wars and the battlestar galactica are amazing. i hope that this show is good.
I'm far more interested in seeing Caprica followed by a "Wing Commander"-style series about the First Cylon War, with young, hotshot pilot William "Husker" Adama.

Bear McCreary posted this track on his blog. It's like a medley of most of the themes in the movie that he used. He already said that it's not the complete soundtrack.
Is it just me or are people saying this theme sucks except for the first 15 seconds? I must say, that's disappointing to hear. I thought the whole theme was good. It's so distant from Galactica music which fits perfectly with Caprica. Oh well, to each is own. All I know is I'll be buying the soundtrack next week.

I did notice the Adama theme run through at that scene. Very nice scene between Joseph and young William. What I meant by distant is that Caprica is a different show than Galactica. That's how the creators wanted it to be. So in turn, the music is a very different kind of music. But the little addition of the Adama theme was good to hear. It shows that the two shows obviously are apart of the same universe.

this show sucks... just watched the first 3 episodes. I fucking loved BSG. I think its one of the best shows EVER (lost is the best then BSG)
But caprica just sucks... I got goosebumbs when that mother said here daughter was a terrorist. (not positive goosebumbs) damn that scene sucked..... But I have too say the music is great! I think its just stupid that a 16 year old girl is one of the reasons for the existince of cylons... I hope the show will get better. Ill give it some time

@TheLiquidBlaze I'm sorry that you think it sucks so much. It is going to be really hard to top BSG, but I think it is an interesting story. I like the idea that it is a young child, because it gives the idea that the cylons started at a young age, and it gives them space to quite literally "mature".

Actually they were from Kobol, the original humans created Cylons, which turned human and needed Resurrection to survive, eventually they managed to figure out how to breed naturally, and they got rid of it, than they created their own robots, and they didn't want to start the cycle over, so they brought resurrection back, but it only saved 5 of them in time (the final 5 from BSG) and those 5 gave resurrection the Cylons in the colonies and thus the cycle played out one last time

Well I or 1 haven't been disappointed. I can't wait to see how much of the History, before battlestar Galactica, that they cover, or even if there is another spin-off focused purely on the frst Cylon war.

In BSG they (the human ones) are completely new individuals, execpt for the final five who are sort of reincarnations. They don't explain exactly what the mechanical ones are.

It is a prequel to BSG. It happens before the humans/cylon war. It is a drama centered around the family losses after a terrorist attack in two families: The Greystones and The Adamas.

Is it just me or are people saying this theme sucks except for the first 15 seconds? I must say, that's disappointing to hear. I thought the whole theme was good. It's so distant from Galactica music which fits perfectly with Caprica. Oh well, to each is own. All I know is I'll be buying the soundtrack next week.

You say its distant from Galactica, but I wonder if you noticed in the actual pilot episode where Joseph Adama is hugging his son, William (good old Admiral Adama), a hint of the Adama theme runs through? I just went :O as soon as I heard it, I'm positive that is it though. Any thoughts?

I did notice the Adama theme run through at that scene. Very nice scene between Joseph and young William. What I meant by distant is that Caprica is a different show than Galactica. That's how the creators wanted it to be. So in turn, the music is a very different kind of music. But the little addition of the Adama theme was good to hear. It shows that the two shows obviously are apart of the same universe.
