@chrisjamesknapp Boxer engines do not make torque in relation to an inline four. Try driving up a 20 to 30% gradient hill with a naturally aspirated boxer engine car. Boxer engines are temper mental bastards that will eventually frag and need a Cosworth block upgrade, just to handle what most people who plan to buy the car are going to do to it.
@TheSupercat2468 I am going to be driving the car around the city, and over small commutes, not mountain climbing with it. I have driven quite a few NA boxer engined Subaru's and they performed beautifully. I have two friends with STIs as well, and they are far from temperamental. I would prefer a boxer engine over a rotary any day of the week, and after a few upgrades I would take it over the equivalently priced "sports" coupes available.
