I would love to have this song playing while the pictures are being showed in my video...If you would write the lyrics out for me.I would greatly Appercaite it!! Search Google for the site named "autism song". The song lyrics are posted there. To get a copy of the song itself, you have to contact the Canadian National Autism Foundation. They sell the single on their site to raise money for research.
this song brings me hope, my brother has autism and is thirteen this year. Things seem to get worse as he gets older but were all hoping and wont give up on him.Things that get us down is we dont know anyone else with a autistic family member and we always feel like were being judged.
This is a song of hope, for sure. And I hope it will help you cope. Never give up. Locate "Carly's Voice", a blog by an autistic girl, and it will give you a reason to never give up even more so than our song.
I have autism too. I have written a song to show people what it's like in our world. Please take a minute to have a look if you get a chance, it's so hard for people to understand what it's like for us - hopefully my video will help.
I've had such a hard time with my autistic son who will be five in a few months...Its been frustrating, but I'm learning and doing my best. This song touched my soul thank you..
This song brings tears to my eyes because my daughter Zoe who is almost 4 and non verbal is on the autistic spectrum , i love her sooo much because she brings me joy every day, i am a better person because of her. She also has the greatest personality always laughing and dancing also very affectionate more than my other daughter who is not autistic who i find more challenging in many ways. My only problem is with negative attitude and comments.
Thanks for commenting Tabitha. It's so nice to hear something so positive and heartfelt about autism and your special relationship with Zoe. Yes, it's incredibly difficult to find joy in distressing situations but it's wonderful that you do. Enjoy both your children. Children teach us how to love like no-one else can.
I loved this song. brought tears to my eyes. Thats really my motto "dont give up". My 4 year old daughter Alaina has been diagnosed with ASD and everyday is a struggle to understand how to meet her needs. Through patience and understanding I am growing to be a better mother for her. Life is hard but I will never give up on my baby.
@bbluhm25 Amen! Never give up!! Our children have a purpose here and to teach the world to accept differences, no matter how it comes! I also have a daughter living with ASD.
This song was wonderful. I am using it for a presentation at school raising awarness of autism and i will go out in the public to do so too. Thank you for the inspiration.
what a stunning song - we are currenty campainging in our local area to raise awareness of autism and i have been so inspired to write a song with our wee friend Cory in mind... beautiful! Thank you xxxxx
As a mother of an autistic son and a childcare provider to only autistic children this song has truly touched my heart. Thank you for providing me with a song to share for others to have a little bit of understanding and compassion for these precious little ones as well as the parents caring for them.
No, it's not on I-Tunes. You can only purchase the original version via THE CANADIAN NATIONAL AUTISM FOUNDATION. Do a search for link since I can't post it here. It's a single, $6, with all proceeds going to CNAF.
I'm sorry you don't yet have your CD. We do not personally sell them. The orders go directly to the Canadian National Autism Society. They are 100% reputable. Your CD is most likely still enroute. They are located in Canada. Mail takes time. I will personally contact the president and chase this up for you.
Is there anywhere to buy a copy of this song? I have a friend who runs an autism resource/outreach center Her son (21) has autism and my daughter (10) has autism and I know many of the parents that use the center would love the song and would want copies for themselves. Where can we get copies? What is the singer/writers name?
this is really beautiful (: to be honest it made me cry and your voice is amazing. my little brother autistic and hes my world!! im trying to write him a song but im not very good :( all i got is a poem.
Thanks for this, autism is still so misunderstood, I'm glad that it is beginning to be a lot more identified, there's still a long way to go, as someone once said, it's like a "cultural misunderstanding" that exists between autistic people and the non-autistic, all that is needed to remedy this is for some form of translation to be made so that someone who is non-autistic can correctly interpret what someone with autism means and not think like many still do..."he's strange"..."she's weird" etc.
Thanks Katrina. If you visit our associated site, THE AUTISM SONG (do search in Google) you can read up on the background of this song which I co-wrote with my mom after she listened to the founder of the Canadian National Autism Foundation's story of what it's like to raise an autistic child. Mom was so moved, the song just about wrote itself in her head and we nutted out the lyrics and tune together. We're so glad you like our way of telling your story this
Wow - this is amazing, I am filled with sadness, happiness and joy- thank you so much for this beautiful song and what a beautiful voice you have. I am a mother of a mother of an autistic child - thank you from the bottom of my heart.
It's always nice ta see positive songs and messages out there on autism. And I get annoyed when I see stuff that shows how sad it is and that it's a tragedy.
I have Asperger's Syndrome, which is HFA, but there are things I still can't express, and words get minced when I try. This song expresses and says lots. Thankies much for sharing it!
Many Thanks to you! As if it wasn't heartbreaking enough that autism takes your child's voice, then, as a parent, I've found in my unrelenting efforts to give my child a voice, that I too feel more unheard than ever before. Through the education system, the government, the medical establishment, the supposed resource programs, even family members...so, i cry when I listen to your music because of the immense relief it is to feel like I am being heard. Thank you!
Thank you immensely from my heart for voicing my life with my son in such an incredibly heartfelt and beautiful song. I cry every time I listen. It keeps me going when i don't know how to go on.
Beautiful song. Please listen to song joshuas eyes on Youtube. Both are wonderful songs about autism.

I would trade my ADHD and Tics for Autism/Asperger's Syndrome if I could, I'm a little jealous.
