do you miss the sensation? and do you know why it was "like a fast single-core"?

i digged in to this question and found out that the cpu is made to use only one core for applications(quadrant, linpack, you name it) while the other core is doing something else in the background.

=> it runs at half the speed for the benchmark and with both cores would be 2000x2=4000 > 3000(s2)

so do you miss it?
