For me one of the best clip for explain what is the Blues, really talkin Blues, and for the history of Jazz, you can see the best legends playing together for Lady Day.
It's like a dream walking out all cute amongst these giant musicians. This is really what it's all about to me. Billie is so pretty through it all. This session ties it all together. We just never know the pain that follows all that glory. Coleman Hawkins OMG! Love them all.
Thanks for the wonder of film. Although I was alive when this was done, I was too young to understand. Now I can appreciate these superb musicians as though they were yet alive themselves. The fellows operating the cameras had no idea about the history they were witnessing I am sure.
Mais do que a maior cantora da minha vida, ela é a própria música. Billy é paixão intensa, é sentimento inconsolável, é a prova de que a humanidade pode ser sublime.
