@nevershoutlindsay I know where you're coming from. I didn't like rap until I heard Chiddy Bang. I personally dislike Jason Derulo's sampling of Imogen Heap. You kind of have to think of them as covers. Just like covers artists love to put their own spin or own interpretation of the song. Sampling is similar. Although, yes in a sense they rip it off. Also, from what I remember, an artist has to confront the original song's owner and ask them for permission to use it. So no it is not ripping. <3
