anyone who isn't quick to judge something or someone and actually appreciates comedy would in fact appreciate this. it's a complete act and yes the guy is being a goof. Things like this tend to be funnier when you know the person personally and i'm assuming the crowd knew him personally since the set they use is filled with CH staff and such. I think the comedy comes from the tragedy of the character and we can all relate to knowing a total dork who thinks their lame and safe jokes are hilarious, when everyone else can see that they're needy, insecure and 'not whole' at their core and that their attemps at humour are a way of covering up their sense of victimisation and naldjustment in the world...

I think this is very intelligent comedy. as he nails that tragicomical character, most people can relate to. The character he portrays is funny but not in the sense the character expects. One doesn't know if to laugh or to feel pity in the man he portrays
