Hi hi! Have you tried intellectus 424 diet (just google it)? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my cooworker lost a lot of weight with it.
@nagurman Pick up his album Markology, he only plays guitar on it. He was only 16 at the time, I think it was like 1979. The whole album is fantastic but my fave is Fluid Drive an 8 minute tour de force where he is accompanied by Tony Rice and Dan Crary. Simply phenominal, oh and this song is on it too :-)
I have watched this video so so many times and it NEVER GETS OLD.Mark is purely amazing here on the guitar.Ive commented here a few times also. This video needs some marketing and ads on it and renaming to get more attention to it.This should have a million views by now.It is great.
@tiger1vkulmala No, Mark doesn't play guitar anymore, which is a shame. I got turned onto him back in those days when I found a record he did called Markology.
@PabloPancho100 They died the day the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville Tennessee got pissed and took Mark O'Connor's white fiddle out of the museum after nearly 20 years of being housed their to make room for, basically, crap. Mark Didn't complain, he didn't bitch, he didn't moan, he just simply left and went to LA and made about 4 times the amount of money and recognition that Nashville ever gave him. The suits in Nashville are RETARDS. Country music,---->
@capitalismforme Country Music, for nearly 60 years, was the top selling genre of all time. Guess what, it aint no more. Lady Gaga is. You know why? Nashville suits. During the recession, over 40% of Nashville's prominent record labels went bankrupt. Not 1 in LA went bankrupt.Things that make you say Hmmmmm.
@capitalismforme He didn't make money in LA....he made money by touring everywhere. LA had nothing to do with it. California is just a nice place to live and come back to when you've finished your tour or weekend dates.
@richardsmithmusic I didn't say he made money in LA. I said he went to LA and made 4 times the amount he made when he was in Nashville. You assumed I meant working in LA. I didn't say that.
@capitalismforme Yeah my bad... well, Mark's in NY now. Still touring everywhere. He only did session for 6 or 7 years or so..not a long session career, but certainly made his mark. One of my favourite musicians for sure. Chet was always totally the man!!
@richardsmithmusic Mark O'Connor's first "Nashville" session recording was done in 1983 when he recorded a single for Michael Martin Murphey. Previous to that, he had recorded outside of "Nashville" for many artists. His last session recording was in the 90's, which I currently don't have the exact date but can get. In any event, the point is - his session career in Nashville lasted much longer than 6 or 7 years.
In the early 80's I saw Mark win the "International Mandolin Contest" in Kerrville Texas. ONe of his prizes was a Luke Thompson mandolin that he played for many years.
@rickjolley , agreed he is awesome at everything he does. But, he won 1st in the fiddle competition in 1974 and 2nd in flat picking the same year. That was his first year at Winfield. Check out the archives on the Walnut Valley website.
Sucks Mark doesn't really play guitar anymore because he is amazing. He told me he has problems in his wrist and he can only handle vigorously bowing opposed to flatpicking anymore.
Here's the problem: put these masters in this exact scenario in a city somewhere today and it would be "who the hell are these old white guys? Can't dance to that! Let's go over there where they're playing hip-hop!!!" Can't figure out why everybody doesn't realize that our choice of music and such is a direct reflection of our character and values.
It's a shame nobody ever credits Paul Yandell (Chet's rhythm player, the guy in the back there). He can play just about as well as Chet could.
