Sorry I think you are thinking of the other lafayette. We are from lexington ky. They are from Louisiana. I wish we were there though! we might have gotten 9th. Since we beat centerville earlier in the year and they got 9th.
No we didnt beat laurence central they won the Indy regional and came third at nats, you are thinking of center crove, who we did beat, and who came in 8th.

It was something center but it wasnt center grove they had some ball themed show that was horrible. But im thinking of the jungle theme band who we also beat at indy but placed in the middle at grand nats.
Im not intrigued. I dont think it was dramatic, it says everything about nothing. Every other decent 5A band is doing just as much as you guys are. Dont tell me they are not, they all have 12 hour band camps just the same. Ill be impressed when I see something happen. There are 4 bands in the state that I know are working the same amount as you are. North Hardin, Madison Central, GRC, and Dunbar. Dont do this crap that means nothing and has 2 pictures of the same trumpet player.

Who told you that you are the most prepared band in the state? Your Director? Because that is what he should tell you, just like every other band director says to his kids. I didnt go to school in Kentucky, I go to UK now, But I saw alot of competitions last year, and the degree of difficulty in The Lafayette show was not where it should have been. Dunbar, GRC, Madison Central, and North Hardin where laying it down, and Lafayette squealed into second due to easy music and moderatly hard Drill.
are yal going to grand nationals this year in november? im in the lafayette high band from louisiana and were going and i thought that it would be awesome to have two bands with lafayette in there name lol

G-wood ...is......... I got nothing, I would say we're bringing it but hah srsly... we don't have a chance against Lafayette(Madison Central is my goal so I won't deem them unbeatable)
lafayette has owned for a long time, but i don't think they will for a long time. (have payed atention for the last 6 years? they came in second 4 times, and this year everyone liked dunbars show better )
we got worse than Marshall who got a flag stuck on a sax (no offense) and even a couple of the Band Instructors couldn't figure out how we scored so low
So Don't tell me Im blindly supporting my school my vision on this is pretty clear
we didnt do good at regionals so they didnt expect anything out of us
and yes the compitition is getting better... I'm gonna find a way to make my school that compitition by the time I graduate (at least make it to finals)

We could have done better... but we got 14th... which we DIDN'T deserve...
if the judges didn't have drumsticks stuck up thier butts(part of my rant I had going on saturday.)
Were they even paying attention? (at least to the bands from 9th place down?)

Also, no, this year was pretty split on what show people liked better.

so what we didn't have 2 minutes of synth and what not...
we were more oldskool and I thought we rocked it when I saw the show...
