The deer was a yearling buck, also known as a button buck. His mother was probably hit by a car or something. Hopefully he made it to maturity. Loved how he was playin on the pool cover.
This actually kind of worries me. I wonder if the deer had been raised by humans for a time in the past, and so was used to them. He (she?) acts more like a pet dog. Since you say you haven't seen him again, I hope he is able to survive in the wild without relying too much on people.
I sell those safety covers at my job. Now I can tell my customers the covers are strong enough to support a playing deer. Just make sure it doesn't put a hole in the cover, your manufacturer will void the warranty lol
Two things: You shouldn't let your deer "on" the pool for 15 minutes after eating....and....I hope you sent this video to the person who sold you the pool cover! (without it being THAT strong, this would have been a very, VERY different kind of video...kudos to the manufacturer)
The front of the hooves and around the sides are hard . There hooves are interesting and more soft than say a goat The soft part makes there walking quite in the woods.
I would have taken this deer in as a pet.

Deer hooves are actually very soft on the bottom.

I am sure they get harder as they age.I see stuff on TV on how sharp deer hooves are if you get kicked by one.
