  • Not usually a fan of Regina Spektor, but this was pretty dope...... For earing my respect you get the greatest gift of all.... You are metal........

  • Anybody else know this song is about taking the government down?

  • Radiohead #1, Camille O'Sullivan/Regina Spektor #2.

  • hermoso *-*

  • Beautiful!!

  • Regina song I haven't heard? Oh God I love this woman.

  • One of the few Radiohead covers that doesn't suck. But, seriously.. wow.

  • please :(

  • please :(

  • Wonderful cover, probably the best of a Radiohead song.

  • Haters gonna hate.

  • Personally, I prefer the original, but this is, without a doubt, a beautiful cover.

  • @julestags Agree agree agree

  • I hate Radiohead covers. Most of them suck. I think the original version of this song is better. But that being said, this cover is abso-fucking-lutely incredible. Haters gonna hate.

  • Im sorry

  • *top*

  • this is lovely, why ya'll hatin??

  • this is fucking awesome

  • A classic reworked by an angel of modern music...

  • She made this song even more depressing... D:

I find both this one and Radiohead's beautiful, and I like different things better in each of them.

    guhhh ;___; <3

  • Just perfect, i love this cover!...

  • I'm a huge Radiohead fan but, to me this surpasses the original because she's so articulant and calm when she sings. I love the original don't get me wrong; I just love how she covers it with an apathetic tone. Her voice & direction she takes it - so gorgeous. If you don't like it, you're probably a big Radiohead fan, true to their music. Open yourself up to covers - because this is amazing.

  • Grrl needs some reverb.

  • The only cover that arguably matches radiohead

  • if you prefer a more powerful cover to this, pls. refer to Christa Collins.

  • As usual, the only people that feign offense to a cover are shithead purists who think that every cover is a personal affront to their tastes and to the original band. Too bad there isn't a pit large enough to fit all of you in. Please don't ever take up the guitar because I am sure your first attempt at music will be an affront to Smoke on the Water.

  • i used to think no surprises couldnt be ruined. But now i'm sure it can even withstand a woman

  • gay and lame. nihilistic approaches to well establish and reputable music does NOT make it good, fitting, or at worst, equal to the original. it would be like playing the national anthem with a bagpipe and comparing it to hendrix's version. gay.

  • @davidbiscan stop using 'gay' to describe a person's voice. if you don't like it, you don't like it. you don't need to say that it's gay because it that does not make any sense.

  • @mewie101 oh I'm sorry. I didn't mean to offend you by using a word that means "happy", fag.

  • (bundle of sticks to be used for firewood). Don't argue about semantics of language idiot and just crawl back into your diluted, watered-down, cave you call reality, then buy another twilight movie ticket. (yes, I'm pigeon-holing you on purpose because you did it to me.)

  • gay.

  • perfect blend of originality between regina and radiohead.

  • Granted: Thom Yorke has written 10 great songs since OK Computer, but you couldn't assemble 12 later day tracks that would devastate like OK computer. 10 great post-OK Computer tracks: Reckoner, House of Cards, 15 Step, There There, Everything in its right place, national anthem, lotus flower, staircase, and two songs that didn't make OK computer Nude and How to Disappear Completely. You'd have to agree that in comparison to the years 93-97 the last 14 years have been a bit of a drought.

  • @lordmalberry You can download bootlegs of 100 terrible Radiohead songs they tried out that are absolutely not good--that's not a joke. Nothing since "Amnesiac" has been phenomenal.

  • Check out: "Obadiah Parker - Idioteque" if you like this cover.

  • Really captures the feeling of the original. Love it.

  • My god, this is the best Radiohead cover I can think of; no-one bar no-one has done a great Radiohead cover, ever. No surprises is just one song from OK Computer and there are 6 others as good if not better on it IMO. The six songs if your wondering: Airbag, Paranoid Android, Exit Music, Let Down, Karma Police and Lucky. Why the hell won't Thom Yorke write great songs no more? The world's been waiting 14 years Thom! The rest of the band need to give him a beat down in a dark alley.

  • @lordmalberry This is a great cover - I like it a lot. BUT... there's another one which is equally good if not better that you may not have heard yet... Obadiah Parker - Idioteque

Also -- Thom Yorke hasn't written a good song in 14 years? According to who? You. Radiohead and Thom Yorke have both released a lot of incredible music in the past 14 years.

  • @warpcorp Who says? Me, everyone I know, and millions of others of Radiohead fans who felt that their precipitous fall after climbing the mountain top with OK Computer was the biggest "let down" in art since Picasso painted Guernica then retreated to the Cote de Azure to work on his tan. Kid A is the most over-rated turd in the histroy of rock; if it wasn't Radiohead no-one would have heard it, let alone liked it.

  • went straight from gnarles barkley doing reckoner......... this is goosebumps

  • Great cover for a great song:)

  • I love Radiohead, but is it bad that I love this cover a lot better?! D: I don't want to believe it. But it is Regina spektor... she deserves it.

  • Need to sing this song with pain. Real pain one has endured in their lifetime.

  • beautiful cover of a beaut song, whatta combination.

  • Man, I tear up when she sings 'this is my final fit, my final belly ache' having been there so many times saying that to myself and finding yourself in way too stressful situations again and again. :(

She may not sing very high, but her soft voice makes it fragile. A song isn't good if people reach amazing notes, it's what it does with people.

  • I LOVE Radiohead and I LOVE Regina. THIS IS WIN <3

  • for all the people who said regina lacks the range...how can she? she has a pretty solid head voice. and of course her version is less haunting...she didn't want to make a COPY of the song. she interpreted it as she saw it and everything regina does is beautiful which is why this version is BEAUTIFUL. GET IT?

im sure if she just copied the song as it was, those same people would be complaining that it's too much like the original and "noone else can touch thom yorke" and all that crap..

  • i just listened to the original song and didn't like it but as soon as regina starts singing, i can't help but fall in love with this song

  • @doulikeamericanmusic if u dont like the original, u suck hard

  • @doulikeamericanmusic lolwat the original is just as good

  • muy buena y no me ofende que la cante otro q no es radiohead (como scott weiland let down)

  • Regina Spektor is a good musician. Not just cause she made a song with The Strokes either.

  • this is brilliant.

  • beautiful :')

the original version is still amazing though

  • she doesn't have the range

  • Way too many pretentious people on here... it's sad that a place that could possibly connect people through shared media ends up like this.

  • Hmm, this doesn't have the same haunting feel the original does.

  • @dman19851996

Part of the original's charm is Thom's range; or lack of. Regina is too melodic, strangely enough. It sounds too pretty.

    It's a nice cover regardless.

  • If you're so against Radiohead covers...then don't watch something that say "radiohead cover" in the title:)

  • @ketzeldapretzel how can you not like this wonderful interpretation ( some people are children, we should love them like we love children)?

  • @ketzeldapretzel Any Radiohead song is awesome, regardless of who covers it...especially Ms. Spektor.

  • Wow!!!!!

  • I didn't think there was any reason for anyone to ever remake a Radiohead song, but this proves me wrong. Nice job, Regina. I'm more in love with your music than ever.

  • beautiful...

  • marry me regina?

  • Ooh, this is amazzinngg. Her voice is perfect for the song :OO

  • Isn't it "bellyache rip"? She left out a word, but I guess it didn't really fit in the melody of her spinoff. It's still pretty, though.. but, she's no Thom.

  • @xorphz no, it's 'bellyache with'

  • ....magnificent

  • Comment removed

  • I think it´s a good cover... period...

  • This cover is amazing! and this is coming from a Radiohead fan.

  • Regina rather spoils the harmonic surprise of 'final bellyache' by sweetening it out of existence. Agathe et Fine's version is musically richer, more lyrical, their performance not quite so intense as much of Regina's - and further away from Thom's depressed grey - but the subdued voice saying 'let me out of here' will give you a shiver when you hear it.

  • too much amazing at once radiohead and redina :'( she is just such an extraordinary artist...such an inspiration.

  • @HospitalForTheDead *Regina.

  • @oeoroe

  • @oeoroe That didn't seem necessary.

  • End Credits to the Mockingjay movie, anyone?

  • @admrlthunderbolt Oh my stars, yes!

  • This is nothing like,or near as good as RADIOHEAD:)

  • @TheMadmickk Your right its not like radiohead. Thats sort of the point of a cover though. I love Radiohead and Regina Spektor and they both have a great sound. Even though their sound is different. :)

  • a bit to much whispering, and to rely on the piano is thin. But great anyway

  • Thank you, Radiohead, for making ok artists sound amazing by singing your songs

  • And here I thought the song couldn't get any better...

  • this is just simply amazing !!!

  • both of regina spektor and radiohead version are great song

  • this deserves more than a million likes!!!

  • It's so beautiful, it makes me cry...

  • It's so beautiful =')

  • this is the Brians Song of its day!

  • Enjoy this much!

  • Now I get it. Her song Carbon Monoxide was inspired by No Surprises. The verses sound so similar. Wow.

    Anyway, beautiful cover.

  • I saw this live and still cannot get over how beautiful it is. It makes me question my existance.

  • Beautiful

  • Ha, I love that you care so much.

  • @cliffhangslash

WTF is that supposed to mean? You didn't like it? Boo.

  • @supremustotus Yep.

  • @cliffhangslash

I must say I am severely disappointed. Well... I guess it's inevitable that good music will always be disliked by the majority of the population. I'm just glad that the select few see it as something more. :)

  • @EddieGfoo why wud he dedicate a song like this? just dont make no sense

  • at the beggining sounded just like last flower... from in rainbows...

  • love it

  • @ImChrisEasley...her original music is the best of anything she's done, she's awesome. the earlier songs that she did are my favorite :) def check her out though!

  • the original is one of my all time favs and I'm a huge radiohead fan, but I think this cover does it justice! :)

  • @Exodus3003 I'm a big fan of radiohead too and also I love Regina and this cover !!!!!! what a beautiful cover and a great song !!!!! :)

  • I am responsible for so many of the views. ♥

  • i am now making this song my theme song.

  • This song has been one of my favorite songs for such a long time, it makes me cry, and Regina Spektor did a beautiful cover of it! Gave me tears(:

  • *¬*

  • ...Oh my gosh. One of my all-time favorite songs covered by my favorite artist, this is a dream<3

  • Not as good as Radiohead. Period.

  • @2319Patericetolier - Careful, your stupidity is showing.

  • really good cover

  • She does very well :)...............but no one does it like Radiohead

  • great

  • Can't decide if I like Marissa Nadler's version more.

  • Awesome.

  • Just ok. Lacking in her usual cheekiness.

  • @ceili1094 The song isn't supposed to be cheeky. It's pseudo-cheeky but actually meant to portray the depression and banality of a candycane lifestyle and the modern world. The melodies are childish, but the atmosphere itself kind of cold. If anything her version is still a bit too cheery. it's alright but it doesn't hit the same vein

  • I just got this song. Thanks for the itunes link. :)

  • Regina is good. Wonderful songs. This cover is one of the better ones out there. Found lots of good to decent Radiohead covers here in Youtube. I wonder if there's a channel dedicated to all of Radiohead cover songs? Should be if not. Would be quite popular I think.

Listening to this and knowing the content of the lyrics, I still can't believe a lullaby for babies cover version was made. Odd.

  • this is my final fit, my final bellyache

  • Not impressed, something is wrong with me. Replay.

  • Comment removed

  • Incredible. I'm speechless... good thing I'm typing~

  • How can a cover spoil the original? Fucking idiots.

  • @spr66 Easy: Hurt - Johnny Cash

  • Seriously, people? How is she "ruining" the song, when, to be quite frank, she had the balls to do it anyway? In my opinion, this is much more listenable than 90% of Radiohead's work, and it's simply beautiful. For saying she has no emotion when she sings: you're morons. If you want to hear someone with no emotion in their voice, go listen to your computer's speech function.

  • @GeomancerYugelu

I think Regina is preety good.

But you are a moron to say "this is much more listenable than 90% of Radiohead's work"

  • @marvanlee Radiohead is by far the best british actual band;

  • Amazing.

  • Dear replay button, sorry for raping you

  • it takes a fair bit to do a cover of a radiohead song that doesn't make me cringe, i enjoyed this very much. i am a regina fan and a radiohead fan so i might be a bit biased but who give a shit, tis good music :)

  • Just beautiful. Tops Gnarls Barkley's cover of Reckoner.

  • i just pressed the dislike button. Simply, Regina Spektor is not a PROTESTER!

  • She is seriously one of the most talented female singers out there today.

  • Regina can do no wrong in my eyes and I just love this song so much. I've been listening to nothing but the original and this for the past 3 days.

  • This doesn't stand up to the original.

The song isn't as "cheery" as she seems to make it. Yes, she is talented but, i no like. lol

  • @CicconeYouth04 Cheery?! Psh, this makes me tear up.

  • @CicconeYouth04 You've obviously never listened to Regina Spektor before, you'd know if she was being cheery.

  • @rekolektions You've obviously never listened to Radiohead before or else you'd know what this song is about. O.O The piano is all wrong, that's what I meant by "Cheery". She would have been better off with an acoustic guitar. This is now settled, now leave me be to comment on what I wanna comment on without being accosted by "fans". Thank You.

  • La amo ❤ ❥ ♡ ♥

  • This would be a decent enough song by itself. But its like comparing a drunken one night stand to losing your virginity.

  • Radiohead version is better. Better vocals, better instruments.

  • @key0bb I don't think the point is for a version to be "better", but I essentially posted something to the same effect on the original's video about Regina. It's all just opinions, and in mine her clear, beautiful voice, along with the simple, lone, powerful piano makes this song so strong it can almost move me to tears.

  • @Seraph821 This version is missing the glockenspiel, Thom Yorke's soft soothing voice and the crisp acoustic guitar. It's basically missing all the stuff that give it a lullaby style like Radioheads is. That is what I mean by better. Regina is a good voice, it just doesn't match the song.

  • I love Regina. This version is really good, but Radiohead will always have the best version. <3

  • When I heard this the 1st time, I tought it shoud have said "Regina Spektor - Last Flowers (Radiohead Cover)"

  • Wow, what a beautiful song!

I had never heard it before. Just wow.

  • @themusicandthepen It is a beautiful song and cover, but we gotta thank Radiohead/Thom Yorke for creating it.

  • its so fragile and emotional and powerful like the original...i love the original but i like this version too:-)))

  • Thom does it best. We do it worst. Radiohead will never be the same.

    /watch?v=daF_uJTPykA

  • Who would have thought the words "Bring down the government!" in such a sweet and tender voice sound the most convincing they have ever done in the history of mankind?

  • Can't really say i like this cover :/ Kinda breaks the 'flow' of the song. She has a great voice, though.

  • 100 people want surprises

  • If I ever write a movie,

This song is going at the end of it.

  • @wannabroosky22 Hopefully it won't be movie about a young girl surviving a hard kick into her belly. Then it would be really weird dude.

  • @wannabroosky22 Thumbs Up I Like Your Comment! :D

  • So heartbreakingly beautiful.

  • Nice! Like how she made it her own, kind of a huanting version, I dig it.

  • @litlwolfy I'd argue the original is hoaunting aswell but yeah

  • My favorite female artist covering my favorite band? HELL YEAH!

  • How is Katy Perry even listed as a suggestion to a regina spektor song?

  • @Jmzakacortez The record company most likely pays for it to be a 'featured video' on a lot of pages.

  • AMAZING!
