  • I just bought a 93 gs 300 thinking about swaping for and v6 aristo twin turbo motor my only quesrion is can it stay rite side and if not somw suggestion as to wat motors To swap to that are faster. I wanna do mu suspension i have 20 adrs on it i need suggestion get bakk to me asap

  • Lowering a car is ghetto? WTF. Ever notice how low f1 cars sit? Less suspension travel is better for driving performance.

  • Naw man, less suspension travel makes for bottoming out your car. a STIFF suspension (properly damped, with appropriate shocks) increases your road holding capability.

    Bottoming out makes your bounce (Cut springs for example)

  • I was just trying to make a point about lowering a car. What I mean by less suspension travel is the bound and rebound relations between the dampers and the springs. Lowering the car without proper dampers cause for a terrible ride, handling and warping of the control arms. But I'm no pro at this just going by what I've experienced.

  • lowering the ride height doesn't always improve handling. it's all about suspension geometry and how the control arms are positioned relative to the ground/road. under full load the control arm should go no lower than flat with the road. if the center of your car is lower than your control arms you're losing performance.

  • Yeah I agree. Lowering your car too much actually damages some parts of your suspension. I've seen quite a few lexus is300(my friend included) have warped or bent control arms just by lowering it more than 1 inch.

  • yup. to lower a car PROPERLY costs a pretty penny and not just the ~$2500 for a coliover. gotta get RCA's, adjustable upper control arms etc. I have bags on my GS and I just changed all my joints (ball joints, tie rods, toe arms etc) and you can see what the lowering does to them :/ so yea, damaging parts is the real.

  • i was rippin around in my mk2 gs sport today and it sounded exactly like urs i think ur bullshittin bout the turbo, mine aint got a turbo and it sounds and moves same as urs
