no way that is 50%, i know the size of the real ones, and this is more like 30%, just think about it, if you put the 2 next to eachother they would NEVER be the size of the wingspan of the real edge!

Gotta say, I love the Edge. Yak, Extra, Sukhoi, CAP, sure they're all good in their own ways, but they're definitely NO EDGE!!

And that doesn't look like a 50%, looks more like 33, or mabye 40 at the most.

It's my 50%, I also have a 60% Extra, 50% wingspan is 146 inches x 2 = 292 inches or 24,33 feet the full scale Edge wingspan.

As for the smoke it's a TME smoke pump with separate power, trick is always install pump behind and below tank, I also mix smoke with throtle, I prime before starting the motor, works every time.

On the 'Scale ' Debate, i've never understood it, I fly a 35% Cap232 And fly a full size 232 and the measurements just don't add up! If a model is 50% of the full size it should be half as big, or am I missing the point. For example the spats on the 232 are 36" long so 50% would be 18". Correct me if I'm wrong. Any I digress, Nice flying and sweet looking machines. Keep em coming!

Good question..I fly a 35% yak and like you said, it don't add up. And if the plane in the video is a 50% shouldn't the pilot in the plane be half the size as a human? Gingerbatics if you ever get the answer to this mind boggling question please let me know...lol.

Well 50% is 50 percent in 3 dimensions, so really its half in 3 directions which is 8 times smaller. so the pilot would be 1/8th the actual volume of a real pilot

well if its half the wing span then i would think so. If you take a cube 10 by 10 by 10 then its volume is 1000 units. half scale would be 5 by 5 by 5 which is a volume of 125, and sitting beside the full size cube it would be dwarfed.

The 232 is an amasing machine! For comp's she's the best. She's very lightly loaded and has lightning responces. Depending on the R/C manufacturer, the model is very similar, but if you're running a heavy set up you can get the wing to break out very quickly like on the heavier wing 231. As for 3D there both terrible in my opinion. I prefer a Yak/Sukhoi/edge anyday!!

I have had several heli's and fixed wing aircraft. Since I started building and flying back in '81 with over 145 planes and 15 heli's I can tell you! Flying these giants give you the best thrill you can have with an RC aircraft. Yes heli's are "Cool" and I really like them as I fly them... but when I want "Aerobatics" then of course I'll grab a TOC Flyer and have a blast hands down.

nothing wrong with them, it's just smoke for effect. There is an additional take with fluid injected into the exhaust to create the smoke.
