@XxXJDoggXxX It could except for the (street-legal) SRT10 ACR, which still is faster on the Nurburgring than the C6 Z06 and ZR1 with '2011 tires - even with the Z06 having the latest tires for the 2012 model. Do not underestimate this beast even if it's 'just' the SRT10, it will bite your head off if you're taking it lightly :)

I seriously cannot choose between these two, I want both!

@Litanic The Zr1's Time is 7:19. The ACR's time is 7:22.1 and Z06 is 7:22.68. So ACR is faster than a Z06, depending on the driver.

@TheIrishCreamPuff I'd say there's about a 5-second fault tolerance on this crazy track. If a car sets exactly a time 7:25 there, any other car that beats/loses it by a couple of seconds is imo just as fast. The choice of tires and daily track condition/drivers condition really matters on this 20km-long track.

Of course official times really state a certain car is faster, but irl you'll notice it would more depend on yourselves how fast you can MAKE the car go right :)

@thevettedude66 More than tires, The A*C*R (american club racing) is a stripped out tricked out viper with all the racing goodies like splitters, spoilers, racing suspension and other bits. It has hardly anything in the interior and has so much downforce that its top speed decreased from 202 to 177. Come on, if you were to do something similar to the ZR1, the viper would end up smashed. besides its not like it beat it by much anyways, figuring that it was built for the track. id take the ZR1

@JustinR32T The Z06 is faster than the SRT-10 around a road course, yes, but the ZR1 isn't faster than the ACR. Also, saying the ZR1 has a better interior is kind of a long shot - the ZR1's interior is pretty terrible, and certainly doesn't belong in a car of its caliber.

Vette's are great cars, but vipers aren't pieces of shit like you say. The corvette was compared to the viper and it did outperform the viper, but only on the street becasue of ride and comfort and ergonomics. Want people fail to realize is the viper is a race tuned street car, not car that an old guy can slip into to for his sunday drive. Sure chevy made a great car, its a no brainer. But let a vette step to a viper on the track and you'll quickly see where the viper's design shine.

Dude they really don't. The Viper ACR might beat a ZR1 on a track but it has weight reduction and a wing spoiler. Dodge just chose to race tune their ACR a little more than the competition. The Z06 beats the new SRT-10 though and that is a more fair comparison. Vipers are still hella cool but when all things are even, the Corvette design handles better.

Given when this was posted, and the looks of the hood-line on the Viper, I'd say it was the 500hp 8.3l model (not the new MacLaren tuned one). I actually thought these were quicker than Z06s in a straight line, but I guess they have same power and a bit more weight so this seems about right. Mainly down to how good the driver shifts and how well they use the power band. Good vid though, like it :-)
