This was the infamous pageant that led to host Bob Barker leaving after Catalina offered certain prizes that offended him. Barker's animal-rights activism was more prevalent after his wife's death six years prior to this. Barker threatened to walk out that day.
Massachusetts has such a pretty costume.

those were the heydays of pageant!! I wish TVB pearl will air Miss Universe, Miss USA, and even Miss Teen USA again like what they did in the 80s!

@misshongkongfans But, TVB Pearl again as the official Hong Kong broadcaster of the Miss Universe this July and Miss USA this April again in 2008.
