  • I created the ´guitar´ using a pianosound that basicly pumped to spawn setting on the combinator.

  • wow!

  • You are ridiculous! These are the best tutorials I've ever come across. You have opened even more doors. Thank you!

  • this... is... wow...

  • is there any way i can use my m-audio fast track interface and a bass guitar to play one of the synths i've set up in reason 5? as in use my bass almost like a midi keyboard? i've got reason 5, logic pro 8, as well as garageband if i need to do any rewiring. thaaanks!

  • @burtonlavery You would really need a synth pick-up to do this with low latency. As an alternative to that, you might want to try a Sonuus B2M bass-to-MIDI converter. I've not tried one, so I can't tell you how well it works, though.

Without any MIDI conversion, you cannot control the oscillators of the Reason synths, but you can play through their filters, with proper routing, using the Sampling Input included with Reason 5.

  • Hi guys... is this patch still available?

  • @tube4andy Yes, it is. Just search for "Propellerhead Record + Reason: Playing Guitar Through the Reason Synths (Part Two)" at Line 6 dot com and you will see the download link at the bottom of the blog post.

  • i just bought "reason 5 (full version)" haven't received it yet, but i wanted to know what it came with such as an audio interface? so i can plug in and record guitar

  • @AndrewConfides Reason does not come with an audio interface, and in order to record guitar as shown in the video, you will need to purchase Record for Reason Owners as well.

  • @line6movies well i recorded with some guy that had reason 4, and we recorded a song with a drum machine and he had a huge selection of different kits, and for guitars he had a bunch of amps, for bass he had ampeg. where do all those plug ins come from? record?

  • @AndrewConfides

Without seeing the computer screen, it is hard to say, but I can tell you that Reason does include several drum kits. As far as amp models, if you saw something that *looked* like an Ampeg, then he was probably using some other plug-in with another DAW, and running Reason inside that DAW via ReWire. Record does come with Line 6 guitar and bass amps.

  • @line6movies well i just bought the line pod farm gold and i seen all the amps he was using so can i use this program with reason?

  • @AndrewConfides I am not aware of any product named POD Farm gold. There is POD Farm 2 Platinum. Maybe you bought TonePort DI-Gold? No matter what, to record guitar into a Propellerhead software product, you need Propellerhead Record software. Reason does not record audio. You can run POD Farm standalone at the same time as Reason if you have a Line 6 audio interface, but would need Record to record. Please check out the video entitled: Propellerhead Record + Line 6 Recording Interfaces

  • @line6movies this is so confusing i probably sound like a moron, so far ive bought reason 5, Line 6 GearBox GOLD DI Interface w/Pod Farm PLATINUM and now i have to buy propellerhead record to record? so what is the point of reason?

  • @AndrewConfides You've got a sweet set-up now. The point of Reason: That is how you make all your drumbeats, keyboard parts, and bass parts (if you use keyboard bass). Reason + Record gives you tons more power and flexibility than either program by itself. (The title of this video is "Propellerhead Record + Reason...") The exact product you need at this point is called "Record for Reason Owners." It is less expensive than buying the regular standalone version of Record.

  • @line6movies Thanks man that helped a lot

  • i might sound like an idiot here, but can you record guitar using reason, or do you use something else to record and then import it to reason; i know you can do live guitar with the guitar amp, but can you maybe record that live guitar using reason itself

  • @neeharavi Hi there neeharavi-- You need to have Propellerhead Record in order for this to work as shown in the video. I have both Record and Reason installed on my computer, so when I launch Record, all the Reason devices are already there as shown in the video. I do not have to launch Reason at all. This configuration also allows you to play live guitar through the Reason synth filters.

  • nice ending song

  • EXCELEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENT!!!!!!!!! THanks

  • Please do a YouTube search for CycleOn. The first result is "CycleOn for Propellerhead Record+Reason," duration 3min39sec. CycleOn is a free download for registered owners of Record & Reason. It is very easy to use and very cool. The main features include Tempo Synchronized Loop Playback; crossfading between two loops; auto-synchronized start and stop; loop start re-triggering effects; delay based audio juggling; a dual stage beat repeater effect; and one-click effect initiator buttons. :)
