  • Great musicianship on this record, but it's very embarassingly strange. It's like U2 tried to re-make Achtung Baby with Jim Morrison singing lyrics written on too much acid.

You're not U2 guys! Still... might have to give this one another spin on the weekend.

  • Does anyone else notice that this album has the same drum sound and similar style to U2's Acthung Baby ?? NOT SAYING ITS A BAD THING because Star and Drug Tongue are some of my favorite Cult songs! I was just wondering if anyone else noticed

  • you know what.... I just noticed something else... this song is even very very similar to The Fly from Achtung Baby.. wow.... anyway.. still love it.

  • Yeah I hear it. Thought I'd look up who produced this album and found it was Bob Rock, who's well known for Metalica's Black album and Motley Crue Dr Feelgood.

  • yes, I agree, maybe the producer is the same man?

  • @ColorsBright I like U2 only they are too big now Achtung baby took my breathe away.still does I think they stole DLR and put it to Get on yer boots though ?

  • heh, i've hung out backstage with Ian when i was 11 i think it was. Some dudes were smoking and he told em to get out because there was a kid (me) in the room. then he told everyone else apart from me to leave, and he lit a huge cuban cigar xD

  • I'm jealous dude this was when IA was going through his Jim Morrison thing but he was still is, a great rock singer

  • with craig adams in the bass guitar & scott garrett in the drums OF THE MISSION UK

  • I remember being so excited when i bought this album as a kid and it still sounds very fresh today

  • @elefou Yeah... my man ;), my opinion is the radio play was bad to the cult after Sonic Temple.I agree though, I hope Tom Vittorinio (forgive me if I spelt the name incorrectly) ? Can convince the majoroty of radio stations that the cult ARE and always were a commercially viable product .The world needs a spokesman like Ian xCFFC

  • That Ian is a sexy bitch..what a voice! Saw them in 1986 in Hamilton..I think it 86..during the Love album with Billy Duffy..80's were a blur! I do rememember they rocked it tho..

  • Yeah, Again EXCELENT Astburys lyrics!

I wonder why this track not become major hit in the Britain (athe nd in world too!).

  • This and electric are fabulous albums start to finish.

    Show me your truth yea!

  • This album is my favourite album of all time

  • timeless

  • sometimes the best albums are the ones the radio doesnt get a hold of and destroy.

  • I kiss her sandled foot

    She's my holy pearl

    the Ghetto in your mind

    treating her unkind

Star I'll reach you if I try

Riot girl show me your truth

  • I believe in liberation

    Wont you liberate me?

Come on and take me, well

    I took no holy vow

Wont you hold this pagan soul?

    Hold my soul

  • Me too zipzagger, i remember when this album came out, and it was all i listened to for the next few months. It was perfectly in tune with the world at the time. I can't believe the album didn't do well, its one of those albums that always sounds good, like DIRT by alice in chains. Ian Astbury's voice is faultless- saw them live in London just after this album came out! 1994

  • Surprised no one has commented on this song, it's my favorite. Lot of good songs on the Basketball Diaries soundtrack.
