esta cancion es puro rules con razon fue el ost de the basquetball diaries , me parece o el vocalista de la banda se parece muchisissmo a jim morrison
i always liked the cult. always enjoyed their popular songs. so i said "what the hell" i'll check out all their other music. OMG! this band is one of the greatest bands of all times. they got rock, they got funk, they got the blues, they got soul, man! i'm impressed!
Great musicianship on this record, but it's very embarassingly strange. It's like U2 tried to re-make Achtung Baby with Jim Morrison singing lyrics written on too much acid.
You're not U2 guys! Still... might have to give this one another spin on the weekend.
POWERHHOUSE !!! vocals from Ian " the chief " Astbury and clean crisp sound from the Boys from The CULT tribe. Very good '" pick me up song" !!! gets you Rockin .. Star by name and star by nature....BURN's down the House with this track when played Live. thanks for the song .Rock ON!!!
How dare any of you mention The Cult and U2 in the same sentence. I humble myself..just to get some respect yeah, get some respect ya. now kiss my SANDLED FOOT.
Does anyone else notice that this album has the same drum sound and similar style to U2's Acthung Baby ?? NOT SAYING ITS A BAD THING because Star and Drug Tongue are some of my favorite Cult songs! I was just wondering if anyone else noticed
Yeah I hear it. Thought I'd look up who produced this album and found it was Bob Rock, who's well known for Metalica's Black album and Motley Crue Dr Feelgood.
@ColorsBright I like U2 only they are too big now Achtung baby took my breathe away.still does I think they stole DLR and put it to Get on yer boots though ?
heh, i've hung out backstage with Ian when i was 11 i think it was. Some dudes were smoking and he told em to get out because there was a kid (me) in the room. then he told everyone else apart from me to leave, and he lit a huge cuban cigar xD
I never really payed too much attention to the cult, until i seen the movie The Basketball Diaries and this song Star, was in it and I was like omg I have to know who performes this song and they are such a good group. Love them!
@elefou Yeah... my man ;), my opinion is the radio play was bad to the cult after Sonic Temple.I agree though, I hope Tom Vittorinio (forgive me if I spelt the name incorrectly) ? Can convince the majoroty of radio stations that the cult ARE and always were a commercially viable product .The world needs a spokesman like Ian xCFFC
That Ian is a sexy bitch..what a voice! Saw them in 1986 in Hamilton..I think it 86..during the Love album with Billy Duffy..80's were a blur! I do rememember they rocked it tho..
Me too zipzagger, i remember when this album came out, and it was all i listened to for the next few months. It was perfectly in tune with the world at the time. I can't believe the album didn't do well, its one of those albums that always sounds good, like DIRT by alice in chains. Ian Astbury's voice is faultless- saw them live in London just after this album came out! 1994
