Next time I buy an expensive guitar, used IS better due to the money you will save. Of course the instrument needs to be inspected properly before you buy. That needs to be mentioned as well. I don't ever think I'll buy an expensive NEW guitar again - it will be used next time.

i hate buying new guitars, the neck is really hard and tacky, i only buy used, my fender strats actually a 98

I like buying used guitars too. I always lick the frets to pick up any skin cells left behind. I hope to absorb the previous owners playing abilities that way.
