I'd like to think all Zelda games are various interpretations of the same story, some of which are added on by other people. kind of like how kids will make up stories based on other stories. it helps explain why some things are similar and recurring while others don't make a bunch of sense. watch the AVGN video on it for a brief explanation of the last part.

ThingxHulk, I see what you mean (and I watched the AVGN's video, too), but I think it makes things more interesting to connect the games. Plus, the developers themselves have said that at least the 3D games are connected, like Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess. You can even see very obvious connections between some of the games, especially those three.

I don't see how any of the three things you mentioned are inconsistencies... I assume you mean that the sages look different in TP from how they look in OoT, and that's because TP is on a branch of the split timeline in which Saria, Darunia, etc. were never awakened as sages... That's why the sages look different in TP. As for the other two things you mentioned, I don't understand what you're talking about.
