It's not so straightforward. He has about 5 years left of his career. Australia are on the up despite what happened at the Asian Cup and he is their captain. At West Ham he'll play every week. At Liverpool he won't. As long as he is playing he will be Australia captain. Liverpool's a massive club but he obviously prefers being a starting player to being a bench warmer. Now he is West HAm captain and his decision has been vindicated. And he isn't earning as much as people say.
