@sashayakovleva Due to the long shutter speeds of the time people had to hold an expression for a long time and be very still. So, facial expressions were rather flat.
@sashayakovleva that was the way of photogrfing in this time. they had to wait very long until a pic was done. You see it to on pics from native american.
These must have all been very wealthy Victorians.... the poor could never have afforded their photos to be taken, and often the only photos the poor would have were the ones of them dead, which they were made to look alive in.... amazing !!
I can say with certainty that yes, I believe their grandchildren survive. My great grandmother Annie Eliza's picture would fit beautifully here. She had 7 daughters and 7 sons and quite a few of their children are still alive.
All are dead. And by now, their children are too. Some of their grandchildren may survive. It is a fact of life. They lived, loved, and were loved in turn. They and their images whisper to us from the past. "Live a full life and may all of you die at the same time."
I like the photos but I wish you could attach an audio to this slide show to make it more pleasant to watch. A clasical song will do well or something that tells you Victorian.

Every time I attach an audio track to these slide shows, I get a notice that I have done evil. So...I stopped. Think of this as a silent movie.

@rbd4n You should try public domain music. Most classical music is, you could also visit archive.org.
