  • My goodness, honey...if you're going to get your face out in front of people, doesn't it stand to reason that your research should include learning the proper pronunciation of your subject's name?! And yeah, it's out there--if you're interested in women's athletics, watch "Pat and Mike"; Mrs. Zaharias is featured. Geez.

  • DEE DRICK SON Za Harry us, plz pronounce her name correctly, she is a great daughter of TEXAS!

    Tex

  • you said her name wrong

  • The "BABE" is my great aunt. I don't have an adams apple and do not play sports...Matter of fact, I look like my Dad (Richard) and my grandfather (Louis).I wonder if this would have made me a legend and be the "Worlds Greatest Woman Athlete" ever to walk the face of the earth.I think not. There is only one that has accomplished this feat...why can't folks just accept this and see her for what she gave to the world of sports?

  • @sdchamp58 Your great-aunt was one of the greatest, most versatile athletes who ever lived. Her memory is a credit to the human race.

  • She was my great great aunt! She might have had an adams apple but if I accomplished everything that she did I wouldnt care! She was a great woman!

  • @mschandler09 She was an amazing, amazing athlete, light years ahead of her time. Just imagine how famous she would be today. Very rare for an athlete to be great at everything. My Mum was a huge fan.

  • Sorry, but I can't help but point out that she had an Adam's apple.

  • She's the greatest athlete who ever lived.

Not the greatest female athlete, but the greatest athlete without qualifiers.

  • @brianthesailor, well, that's a little silly. Obviously, she couldn't compete with the men in these sports, which is why she competed in the women's divisions. And if she wasn't able to do that, she was not what you say. Let's be honest, not PC.

  • @OutlanderWarrior It's not silly at all. Pound for pound, she might very well have been the greatest athlete who ever lived of either sex. There wasn't any sport at which she didn't excel, although she finally chose to concentrate on golf. If I'm not mistaken, only Jim Thorpe was possibly greater.
