i think a lot of u guys who r commenting r mistaken. nickyjam305 is telling ppl to READ dawkins' books, so obviously he thought it was good and wasnt offended by it. he simply said it was harsh and brutal. im an atheist who loves dawkins, and i can understand y ppl may find this quote brutal. it is simply because religion has been immune to criticism for so long.

Real brutality is a) societal brainwashing of small children which also traumatize them with stories of ENDLESS TORTURE and PAIN in hell; b) the act of hating others simply because they do not believe in your delusional, mad and retarded bullshit; c) using religion to cause unnecessary suffering, conflicts, wars and genocides; d) hating life and DESIRING THE DEATH for all people on the planet ( rapture ) because of a crazy imaginary afterlife.
It is true that it is brutal. Then again the Old Testament basically contains a God that fits Dawkins' description. Just my opinion. You could compare the Old Testament God to a bully.
