  • Sorry for the long response but as i wrote it I was watching this video and jamming to it on my acoustic. I guess that means I love the tune.

  • a mediocre tune but Elvis gets the most out of it. He's not into-it and who could blame. My theory about the sped-up master is that what was needed to snugly fit the opening credits of the film. a shame that a great backing band is pushed so far back - even in '12!

  • @ensconse totally disagree! Great song Great soundtrack!

  • @exsees2112 Don't get me wrong - as entertainers go, Elvis is my ace. I saw this flick 3 times in '65 - '66, loved it. Saw it on TV I guess in the '70s and all I could see was something he should not have done. He and Fabares were too old for it. As beachmovies go, it's pretty damm good. But think of what he coulda-shoulda. He was a very strong actor - I think better than Cary Grant and Burt Reynolds and Paul Newman and alot of them. The songs are passable I guess but the mix is horrible. Thnx.

  • the sound on this is FABOLOUS! GTEAT job!

  • i love that movie girls happy

  • jay z, kanye, p diddy, and yes...snoop go to the back of the line...this is true talent and an awesome person. if you want to play ur gangsta card...fine...the memphis mafia would have had you before you got your glass pipe out of your baggies...long live the KING

  • anyone who thinks ep is not the king is tone deaf. simples

  • lol tidy

  • Elvis freakin Presley....best there was, best there is, best there ever will be. That is all that should be said. Don't see millions of people making a pilgrimage to john lennon or others of that day do you? Maybe a few, but nothing like the King....Long live the King...Peace

  • @pbpplt Fortunately Paul and Ringo are still around and it would be rude to go there homes. same is true of Lennon's and Harrison's families. where all these folks [all 5 - Elvis and all 4 Beatles] grew up is not an amazing site. Ringo's house is the equivalent of my garage except instead of side by side it's up and down with an outhouse. The woman who lives there now has a bowl for donations to a free tour thru it. It's very small.

  • @pbpplt George's home was a little bigger and had a bathroom. Paul and John's Aunt Mimi's houses were very small Queens / Brooklyn. Elvis grew up country bumpkin [not to be offensive - just to show contrast] What people visit is his mansion.

  • @pbpplt I was in the Dakota on 12/8/80. Familiar date? I actually witnessed the still living Lennon being put in the squad car to go to the hospital. The following week was wall to wall people morning. I was there. to this day the Dakota is a tourist destination, yes more subdued than Graceland but, it is an apartment building with other tenants.Point is you can't make the statement you made because you can't make the comparison.

  • @pbpplt Final reply - No Elvis, no Beatles. Both changed music but I do think the Beatles changed more of the world. That said It's almost the "who's better the Beatles or the Stones" argument. Who cares I own all there albums and wanted them both to be great. I hate the comparison stuff. Leave that to sports performances.

  • Clip muito bom ! adorei..

  • Saw this 3 times in the movies back in the '60s. Loved it then...watched it again years later....has a nice flow and a "happy" feeling but some really awful sings, badly mixed. By 1965 Elvis should have been able to demand a better script. Most of his '60s movies look fairly hip and contemporary but this one was past its' time. maybe if he did this in 1962...?

  • Witaj Świetne nagranie:):)

  • i love it

  • Parker was so cheap...he compressed the songs to fit more on an album..thus making the pitch a little higher

  • @jrushelvis I think that they sped up this track because (if U watch the film) in the opening credits the song fits perfectly. I think it's disagraceful that it took until only recently fo RCA to issue the real track. Great job, here!

  • @jrushelvis good point

  • @jrushelvis That explains a lot. It sucks that Elvis had to fight so much for such little creative control :(

  • why do you have a fight about a guiter just listen to the music bitches

  • Why did they tamper with the recording speed in the first place- to compete with the Beatles?

  • Elvis is the greatest entertainer of all time.

  • 1:23 That guy on the left was lucky. The slightest slip, and that guitar would've been history.

  • @cazonetta Ya landing in the soft sand, probably would've exploded.

  • @drmorb You've never owned a guitar, or any stringed instrument, haven't you?

  • @cazonetta That is a double negative dipsh...

  • @drmorb Oh my, I'm sad to think we all can't be grammar nazis like you.

  • Elvis still makes me happy, great movie,ELVIS the the unique!!!!!!

  • One great movie, simple and clean. Great tuner and ELVIS....

  • shame about the hair ; like hot buttered yak wool

  • @mlongpre100 The 'hot buttered yak wool' comment was witty and relevant, back when it first came out in a Time magazine article back in 1956. If you want to be a Simon Cowell on YouTube, you'll have to find some new and fresh pinhead remarks, instead of stealing other people's ideas.

  • @biglongcadillac people have been quoting quotable quotes since foreever. and that is a great one that doesnt get out often. i am surprised that anyone recognized it. kudos to you. im sorry you were so upset that i dared to refer to a classic sound bite. i hope you feel better.

  • @mlongpre100 No, you just stole somebody else's joke. If you really were "quoting" as you claim, you'd have used "quotation marks", like I just did. And, in the future you might try improving your YouTube comments a little by using proper spelling, capitalization, and punctuation so that people at least have a chance of figuring out what you're trying to say. BTW - I do feel better!

  • @biglongcadillac what a tight ass you are. loosen up before you get a heart attack. its a chat room not a college dissertation. you would think youd be glad that someone else was into obscure elvis lore, instead its like youre jelous that someone else knows it besides you.

  • Elvis could NEVER sound like Alvin and the chipmunks ;)

  • anyone know why they changed the pitch?

  • Comment removed

  • @mfbinc From what i have read ,RCA records thought the original version was a tad too slow and that speeding it up would give it a faster tempo and beat, thus appealing more to the general teenage record buying public of 1965 , but i'll admit the sped up version makes Elvis sound like ALVIN and the chipmunks

  • @mfbinc elvis doens sound like alvin or the chipmunks in any speed, i think youre mistakng him for Michael Jackson or somone similar to him, those folks have hi pitches by nature , so there.

  • GARY CROSBY playing guitar here was a musician and singer son of Bing Crosby.

  • Now, this is a fun one. Awesome post. Laura

  • Elvis's full black outfit at the end looks like Patrick Swayze's at the end of Dirty Dancing!!

  • Wonderful upload. Thanks for this great share.

  • They should have hired musicians instead of actors to play his band at least they could have faked it better!!

  • ELVIS É FANTÁSTICO!!!

    ELVIS AARON PRESLEY.

  • A bit odd on first hearing...but perfect after the fact...great work...thank you

  • Excellent job finding the original pitch

  • SHELLY & ANN MARGRET WERE THE BEST WOMEN FOR ELVIS, TOO BAD HE DIDN'T LAND UP WITH EITHER !!!!!! MAYBE HE WOULD STILL BE ALIVE TODAY?

  • @avantill yeah priscilla and him had a lot of differences, not batting against the woman, she was just not strong enough to be his wife in my opinion. he needed a woman to kick him in the butt like when he had linda. she kept him in line for the longest time, but i suppose there is only so much one person can handle ya' know? either way i agree. ann was a definite catch.

  • Great work! Thanks for posting.

  • You have to wonder what Elvis thought when they started the playback for the lip-synch during filming and he heard Mickey Mouse coming out of the speakers. He must have gone WTF?

  • One of my favorite scenes in any Elvis movie is the end of Girl Happy where he spots Val in the crowd, Big Frank blows smoke in his face, then they both go on stage and do their song.

This version is better than the sped-up one in the movie.

  • Hi,

You did one great job putting this video together. It's one of my favorite Elvis movies.

I enjoyed this very much, Thanks.

    John
