You can cross your feet when moving in a fight if you are using a specific technique that allows you to do it safely, one technique comes to mind. The opponent in the video goes into a cat stance every time and doesn't really cross his legs, and being in a cat stance is a legitimate fighting position. But it was a nice technique to see, I am becoming very interested in Shuaijiao, peace!
Hey oraenor, you obviously dont know a thing about grappling, judo, (or whatever this style is). This is a totally realistic scenario. This is a sweet foot sweep. I would take you down with this move if we ever met. Peace.
I missed going to the nationals, but i have my hands on the Shuaijiao Wang - or Shuaijiao King 2005 footage. It is in some strange DVD format.... I will see if i can upload it :-)
No. It was broadcast on CCTV. We have a copy since Coach Ma was one of the organizers and the commentator. I have not been able to adapt the format. If you know how maybe we could talk offline??
wow.. I miss this chinese accent so much.. It's my parent's accent and mine has softened a lot these years

Is there a difference between Beijing style and Tianjin style? Or is "beijing" just representing china here?
platinazb 4 years ago
Yes but the difference is subtle. Beijing is the representative as Li Bao Ru is from Beijing.
