It makes sense that hardening the thin membranes on the penis would lessen the risk of disease transmission. But you're essentially trading your sexy cock for finger eleven.
I don't have a problem with Kenyan men getting circumcised, but I DO have a problem with routine neonatal circumcision in a country such as the USA where HIV is not a crisis.
You're stupid. HIV is affecting more and more people everyday. IT IS A GLOBAL CRISIS. In 2004 the US admitted to having underestimated their HIV incidents saying it could actually be 3 times more than what they thought it was. In New york, 1 in 4 homosexual men and 1 in 70 individuals are infected with HIV/AIDS. I don't know about you but that spells crisis to me. Neonatal better cuz it hurts less, heals faster and the skin hardens quicker, providing protection from disease and infections.
The variable which has not factored into this faulty equation is how many HIV infections will be preceded by these words, "Don't worry baby we're safe, I'm circumcised."
Women are still at risk, perhaps even more so if circumcision status contributes to a false sense of security.
You don't have to worry about that. Although it does seem like there are giving too much hope, they are simply trying to get as many men circumcised as possible to reduce the risk but rest assured they are also promoting condom use and safe sex practises.
The only bullshit on this page is what you have just said. You're an idiot. For over 4 years now, this research has been going on and they have just found out that there is "60%" less AIDS in circumcised heterosexual men than in uncircumcised men. We should support these researchers, they are getting close to a cure. We don't need idiots like you trying to spoil that.Look up Langerhans cells, and phimosis then tell me the odds are the same. And elfboi is right you really don't need a foreskin.
I am just a circumcised guy from a country where circumcision is rather uncommon, and I have become somehow interested in this anti-circ debate since I got on the Internet... especially since I DON'T feel mutilated without my foreskin.
You see, I am opposed to routine infant circumcision without any medical need, but circumcision of an male who is old enough to make his own decision is an entirely different matter.
I won't even recommend circumcision for anyone. All I can say is that being without foreskin isn't THAT bad. I rather like it that way.
It was not the Doctor who told me so. I had had problems with my foreskin all the way through my adolescence, but I was too timid to see a doctor. When I met my first girlfriend, I finally found the courage to see a doctor, and I told him to cut it off because I was actually angry at my own foreksin for giving me so much trouble, didn't want to see it again.
Some cases of phimosis can be so severe that conservative treatment is not an option. Such cases are rare, though, and in my case, it MIGHT have been possible to save at least part of my foreskin - but it was my choice, and I just wanted to get rid of that thing, which I just could not retract.
Well, I'm German (raised Catholic, but became Neo-Pagan later), and after having problems with my foreskin for the first 19 years of my life (phimosis), I had it completely removed by circumcision, even if a partial circumcision, leaving 2/3 of the foreskin, would have been possible. And I'm glad the foreskin is gone.
Circumcision will not help eliminate AIDS, condoms will. Condoms can also be used as less than 2% of the cost

But I don't sleep around. Why should everyone get penalized (no pun intended) for the unclean living of promiscuous bastards?

I am neither a troll nor a liar. You must understand that there are people who DO have problems with their foreskins.

I would be far more interested in meeting men that chose to FORGO circumcision against cultural tradition SINCE I DIDN'T GET THIS CHOICE!
