Get it on an emulator. You can save and load your progress at any point you wont lose any lives and you can get all emeralds on the first try. Unless you load and try the emerald again but the game reads it as 1 try? :x lol
Sonic CD was another version of Sonic 2. There is no Super Sonic which really blows and the awesomeness of time traveling wears off quickly I beat it, once. Sonic 2 is the best in my opinion with Sonic 3 and Knuckles a close second. Sonic 2 has the best emerald stages and the levels get completely insane.

As far as Classic Sonic voice actors go, I actually thought Martin Burke was the best(Even though I still liked Jaleel White). Jason is the best Modern Sonic voice actor.
This is far and away my favorite Sonic Game; The inclusion of the Master Emerald (And Hyper Sonic with it), Knuckles, and the second set of stages made this an unforgettable experience. As a matter of fact, I have a remix of the Air Battery zone's music as a ringtone on my phone. I would replay the Death Egg Zones and Doomsday Zone over and over again.

@SuperAwesomeTiago Sonic CD was amazing in concept and execution. I HATED "Sonic 1" because he couldn't spindash, there was no multiplayer co-op, the levels were tiny in comparison, less than appealing music, and it was just plain boring in comparison. Sonic 2 was Sonic in his most basic form. Sonic 3 & Knuckles is epic though. The replay value was astonishing in S3&K and SCD.

Hating on the original because of its successor is about as pointless as hating on a Genesis game because of an Xbox game. I thought that Sonic 1 was pretty good for the blue blur's first adventure. I spent hours trying exploring the zones looking for those machines just to experience a redesigned level along with new music. The physics definitely were not better by the way. Sonic 2 may have had better physics, but Sonic 1 still fails. I consider Sonic CD his first game.

But still that isnt that much of a replayability when comparing it to getting all the emeralds in Sonic 2 or lets not get me started on S3&K Where you have to get all 14 emeralds and the levels are so HUGE you literally replay it years later and then still find new secrets you didnt know of before!
@bardhi09 Seriously... I could show you an endless array of clever level design elements in Sonic CD. Have you played Collision Chaos recently? Compare that to Spring Yard.. No contest. I think the only reason people like Sonic 1 is because of nostalgia and the fact that it is technically the first console outing.
I'm not lying to you when I say I never liked Sonic 1 when, I was 7 years old. It's boring, and the levels were far too simple, plus no spin! Sonic CD, Sonic 2, and S3&K are perfect.

@bardhi09 Define a mess in your book. Did you remember the areas in Collision Chaos where you had to build momentum on half pipes just to reach hidden areas and also the fact that the levels were designed to be back-tracked. It was meant for exploration, not just the "go forward, end" formula.
Spring Yard's hidden areas were rather predictable and the level was far slower. Besides, since when is EASY the formula for a good game? I didn't mean "perfect" literally btw. It's a figure of speech.

But overall Spring Yard is harder and better designed and it doesnt feel cheap(like some CD Levels do!)
Sonic CD is still my favorite. You can't speed run it like a normal Sonic game, but getting a good future and all the Time Stones adds a huge amount of depth, complexity, and exploration to the levels. The music and backgrounds are just stunningly beautiful. And Sonic 2 comes next for me, because of its unbelieveably unrelenting difficulty curve.

@SpartanForgeWorld300 no they shouldn't. To be honest the voice fit the character fine i had no problem watching it as a kid. The current voice actors are good but they should most definitely leave that alone. Roy burke wasn't that bad. He got sonics cockiness and attitude down perfectly. Sure his voice isn't what we were used to as at the time you either were hearing Ryan Drummond or Jaleel White, but he was able to be his character so it didn't feel awkward listening to him.

metal sonic has been in a couple of newer sonic games. he was in 2 player in sa2b (but i dont really count that) and he was in sonic heros as part of the plot
Wow. Just wow. I spent my childhood playing Sonic 1 through 3 and trying to find some cheat codes on my own, like how to play with Knuckles. And that battle at the end is nothing short of epic. I feel like if I had that game instead of regular Sonic 3, my childhood would be a bit more complete. Time to finish some business started years ago.

I agree with nearly everything you said however, why were you collecting the blue spheres like that? Why not go around the outside of the square and do it faster (and easier too :P)
I find the voices for the sonic movie to be exusable foir this reason:
The only other voice that really existed for Sonic at that time was in AoStH, and though they didn't sound too similar, they both sounded like how Sonic COULD have sounded. So while the voices don't fit, they DID fit.
i think sonic x was far far far worse than sonic movie i actually liked the voice acting...keep in mind,sonics voice was kinda like that in old tv shows...so the voice acting wasnt that much strange in that time...
They should re release it for the new consoles, I know the PS2 and XBOX had Sonic mega collection plus, but Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles aren't in one.
sorry but it was actually Mecha Sonic that Knuckles fights, the same but updated version of the second to last boss in Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Metal Sonic, however, was a completely different character, making his first appearance in Sonic CD, and being reprised in Sonic R and Sonic Adventure 2.
@BillyandBoby you cant get Hyper tails. Super Tails is accessible with the Super Emeralds, but you cannot transform as Tails with just the Chaos Emeralds
NOTE: the birds that super tails uses are called flickys. You can notice that they also go super because when tails goes back to normal they turn back to blue. Flickys are also the animals that sonic saves when he destroys a robot
I liked this review a ton. Sonic 3 and Knuckles is also my favorite Sonic game. (My favorite game of all time, infact.) Also, Sonic Adventure 2 is my 2n favorite game of all time, as well. I also think sonic CD is overrated. It's design isn't smooth and it's far too easy. Also, I think Sonic is kinda like Megaman. Why? Because, like Megaman, Sonic has been making some garbage lately, but like Megaman, he comes out with good stuff every now and then.
When you talked about the Sonic movie having bad sounds, welll that was really just the eraly days of sonic, it's what you'd expect. It's just like when Mario used to actually be able to talk pure English.

@IwubMaiColettie Oy asking me something like that a year later. I had to rewatch the vid. Well one part is the clip he shows of the midboss in carnival night zone. You can tell since the music for Sonic 3 midbosses is playing. The most obvious part is Sonic fighting the boss of Launch Base Zone, which is not even in Sonic 3 and Knuckles.

@MajBlood They arent perfect as i said and they're the closest physics from the classic we've got since Advance 1 also there is no uncurling in the PS3/360 version check the latest gameplay footage! There is however Sonic 4 physics and uncurling in the 3DS version!
@bardhi09 I can't see why Dimps can suck so much now when they did a Genesis feeling game for Sonic Advance 1. Anyways glad to hear it about Sonic Generations. Though did you see the leaked stage list? There are only three Genesis levels. And only eight levels total.

I know everyone is entightled to their opinion, and I have tried on several times to play this game, but all the tings people praise it for are just....... ok!
I like the anime intro and ending, the music is ok, I guess (I still prefer the music in Sonic 3) but the whole game just doesn't give me the same sense of enjoyment as S3&K does!

Tip: When you do the Special Stage, get all the spheres on the outside and then they will all turn into rings, if you get all the rings then you get an extra life/continue.
Hyper knuckles looks just like hyper sonic and his special ability is that he makes earth quakes when he hits walls. Super tails IS cool because his birds attack enemies automatically and he flies longer.
Don't lump Me in with them I know about the older systems I may play it on the newer ones but this is still one of My favorite games despite the fact I didn't play the complete version as its shown here until I got it on PC(though I play it on the GNC version of Mega Collection these days but might still get it for Wii's VC even if it means downloading extra games because I want to be able to start where I left off in S3&K in a complete game as if I never stopped).
Well I do have My reasons since I don't want to have to deal with the memory card getting corrupted and also I kind of want to keep My score since I love how high it goes up since S3&K is such a long game (well for it's time it was) and because if the lock on games save in the middle of playing in the middle of an act I can be free to turn My Wii off and not have to start a Zone from the very beginning after I turn the game off (like if I'm really far into act 2 of a long zone and then *2bcont.

Most people say Sonic 2. But I totally disagree.
However we're in DISagreement about Sonic Adventure 2. That is where I think it started to go down hill at super sonic speed. And it's mostly because of that emo-shadow the hedgehog. Although Rouge isn't cool either. And confining Tails to that stupid power chair was annoying as heck. And thats the game the camera angles started to work against the game itself.
Sonic Heroes is extremely underrated and the last good Sonic game. It's closer to the originals than SA1 and 2 were gameplay wise, had good graphics and felt the most liek a true 3D Sonic game (every stage was similar to a level from a 2D Sonic game. It's all about 3D highspeed platforming and is the best 3D Sonic game IMO
Because the two games are really not supposed to be two games, as he said in the review they were intended to be one but due to one reason or another they had to end it at Launch base in Sonic 3 and turn Sonic & Knuckles into a Lock on cart to be able to play through it as a complete game.I mean I'm sure you notice Launch Base is different in Sonic's story in S3&K.I guess S3&K is reviewed more than Sonic 3 is because people feel the lock on game was what it was intended to be.
And also I don't know about you but I can hardly find any reviews of Sonic 3 & Knuckles (at least not in English) I can't find too many written ones. If you can may i see all the ones you run into because I hardly see any. Anyways Sonic 3 & Knuckles (together) is one of My favorite Sonic games because of how long it is, its My favorite of the classic Sonic titles and I didn't even play S3&K in its completed form until Jack in the box was giving it away on PC.I Play it mega Collection now .

@SpartanForgeWorld300 no they shouldn't. To be honest the voice fit the character fine i had no problem watching it as a kid. The current voice actors are good but they should most definitely leave that alone. Roy burke wasn't that bad. He got sonics cockiness and attitude down perfectly. Sure his voice isn't what we were used to as at the time you either were hearing Ryan Drummond or Jaleel White, but he was able to be his character so it didn't feel awkward listening to him.

metal sonic has been in a couple of newer sonic games. he was in 2 player in sa2b (but i dont really count that) and he was in sonic heros as part of the plot

Wow. Just wow. I spent my childhood playing Sonic 1 through 3 and trying to find some cheat codes on my own, like how to play with Knuckles. And that battle at the end is nothing short of epic. I feel like if I had that game instead of regular Sonic 3, my childhood would be a bit more complete. Time to finish some business started years ago.

Pretty good review once it actually gets going...unfortunately that does not happen until nearly 2 minutes into the video. I agree with nearly everything you said however, why were you collecting the blue spheres like that? Why not go around the outside of the square and do it faster (and easier too :P)

I find the voices for the sonic movie to be exusable foir this reason:
The only other voice that really existed for Sonic at that time was in AoStH, and though they didn't sound too similar, they both sounded like how Sonic COULD have sounded. So while the voices don't fit, they DID fit.

sorry but it was actually Mecha Sonic that Knuckles fights, the same but updated version of the second to last boss in Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Metal Sonic, however, was a completely different character, making his first appearance in Sonic CD, and being reprised in Sonic R and Sonic Adventure 2.

NOTE: the birds that super tails uses are called flickys. You can notice that they also go super because when tails goes back to normal they turn back to blue. Flickys are also the animals that sonic saves when he destroys a robot

I liked this review a ton. Sonic 3 and Knuckles is also my favorite Sonic game. (My favorite game of all time, infact.) Also, Sonic Adventure 2 is my 2n favorite game of all time, as well. I also think sonic CD is overrated. It's design isn't smooth and it's far too easy. Also, I think Sonic is kinda like Megaman. Why? Because, like Megaman, Sonic has been making some garbage lately, but like Megaman, he comes out with good stuff every now and then.

@IwubMaiColettie Oy asking me something like that a year later. I had to rewatch the vid. Well one part is the clip he shows of the midboss in carnival night zone. You can tell since the music for Sonic 3 midbosses is playing. The most obvious part is Sonic fighting the boss of Launch Base Zone, which is not even in Sonic 3 and Knuckles.

@MajBlood They arent perfect as i said and they're the closest physics from the classic we've got since Advance 1 also there is no uncurling in the PS3/360 version check the latest gameplay footage! There is however Sonic 4 physics and uncurling in the 3DS version!

@MajBlood The list is not finished yet and i hope thats not the case! Well Dimps has been sucking since Advance 2(Physics wise) although advance 2 and 3 were OK! Their downfall was the Rush Titles and now they just suck they should be fired already!

I really can't understand why people call Sonic CD the greatest Sonic game!
I know everyone is entightled to their opinion, and I have tried on several times to play this game, but all the tings people praise it for are just....... ok!
I like the anime intro and ending, the music is ok, I guess (I still prefer the music in Sonic 3) but the whole game just doesn't give me the same sense of enjoyment as S3&K does!

Tip: When you do the Special Stage, get all the spheres on the outside and then they will all turn into rings, if you get all the rings then you get an extra life/continue.

Hyper knuckles looks just like hyper sonic and his special ability is that he makes earth quakes when he hits walls. Super tails IS cool because his birds attack enemies automatically and he flies longer.

Don't lump Me in with them I know about the older systems I may play it on the newer ones but this is still one of My favorite games despite the fact I didn't play the complete version as its shown here until I got it on PC(though I play it on the GNC version of Mega Collection these days but might still get it for Wii's VC even if it means downloading extra games because I want to be able to start where I left off in S3&K in a complete game as if I never stopped).

Well I do have My reasons since I don't want to have to deal with the memory card getting corrupted and also I kind of want to keep My score since I love how high it goes up since S3&K is such a long game (well for it's time it was) and because if the lock on games save in the middle of playing in the middle of an act I can be free to turn My Wii off and not have to start a Zone from the very beginning after I turn the game off (like if I'm really far into act 2 of a long zone and then *2bcont.

We are in agreement about this game being the best in the series.
Most people say Sonic 2. But I totally disagree.
However we're in DISagreement about Sonic Adventure 2. That is where I think it started to go down hill at super sonic speed. And it's mostly because of that emo-shadow the hedgehog. Although Rouge isn't cool either. And confining Tails to that stupid power chair was annoying as heck. And thats the game the camera angles started to work against the game itself.

Sonic Heroes is extremely underrated and the last good Sonic game. It's closer to the originals than SA1 and 2 were gameplay wise, had good graphics and felt the most liek a true 3D Sonic game (every stage was similar to a level from a 2D Sonic game. It's all about 3D highspeed platforming and is the best 3D Sonic game IMO

Because the two games are really not supposed to be two games, as he said in the review they were intended to be one but due to one reason or another they had to end it at Launch base in Sonic 3 and turn Sonic & Knuckles into a Lock on cart to be able to play through it as a complete game.I mean I'm sure you notice Launch Base is different in Sonic's story in S3&K.I guess S3&K is reviewed more than Sonic 3 is because people feel the lock on game was what it was intended to be.

And also I don't know about you but I can hardly find any reviews of Sonic 3 & Knuckles (at least not in English) I can't find too many written ones. If you can may i see all the ones you run into because I hardly see any. Anyways Sonic 3 & Knuckles (together) is one of My favorite Sonic games because of how long it is, its My favorite of the classic Sonic titles and I didn't even play S3&K in its completed form until Jack in the box was giving it away on PC.I Play it mega Collection now .

1. SK3=EPIC, I nearly failed 5th grade spelling and 6th grade English because I couldn't stop playing this on my Sega Nomad!
2. Lay off on the movie a little, they were trying to sell it to kids that's why the dubbing is so ridiculously bad. But yeah, it could've been better.
